Food Magic Daily Tuesday, June 4, 2019 8 High Quality Ingredients from Euroduna Euroduna Americas, established in 2013, is part of the Germany-based Euroduna International group of companies. Euroduna Americas specializes in the marketing and distribution of high quali- ty ingredients into the food, animal feed and pet food sectors. For several years, Euroduna has worked as a distributor of Tereos Starch and Sweeteners, both in Germany and in the USA, and offers Meripro 500, a high digestible and soluble hydrolyzed wheat protein with many applications in the food industry. Euroduna Americas is partly owned by G.A. Torres of Spain. Torres is a major producer of carob and locust bean gum products, and Euroduna Americas offers various grades of carob powder. Carob powder is produced from the fruit of the carob tree by a special roasting and milling process. Carochoc is the brand name for the specialty, food grade prod- uct. Various grades of Carochoc are available offering a range of colors and sugar content. Carochoc is available in conventional and organic forms. Euroduna offers also from Torres various grades of locust bean gum, both conventional and organic, under the Torresgum brand. Locust bean gum is a thickening and gelling agent used in the food industry. Locust bean gum is obtained from the endosperm of the seeds of the carob fruit (Ceratonia siliqua), after a de- husking, de-germination and milling process. LBG is one of the most impor- tant hydrocolloids used in the food indus- try. Its specific qualities include a high content of galactomannan, unique functional properties, and it is completely natural. G. A. Torres S.L. manufac- tures a range of high quality LBG products under the brand name Torresgum. Torres has developed a new technology using state of the art machinery that allows it to produce a more natural food grade LBG. The brand new factory allows for an environmentally friendly production process. For more information, visit booth #4831. Once Again Nut Butter: A Peanut Pioneer An industry leader for over 40 years, Once Again Nut Butter started with two people, a single barrel roaster and the idea to create simple, nutritious nut but- ters. Now a team of 86, the 100 percent employee-owned company remains true to its roots and proudly offers a lineup of peanut butters that seamlessly blend wholesomeness with sustainability and innovation. Available in organic and natural varieties, each jar of Once Again's peanut butter starts with blanched runner peanuts, which are dry roasted and ground until they reach a wonderfully creamy consistency with no added sugars or oil. Crushed peanuts are added to the crunchy styles, and the lightly salted fla- vors contain just a hint of salt to enhance the roasted peanut notes. In 2007, the company introduced the first certified- organic, no-stir peanut butter as a way to help bridge the gap between mainstream peanut butter and simpler, organic options. Delivering classic taste and tex- ture that people remember from child- hood, but without excess sugar or hydro- genated oils, the product is lightly sweet- ened with organic sugar and stabilized with responsibly-sourced, RSPO Certified organic palm fruit oil. Superior taste and texture aren't the only thing that sets Once Again's peanut butters apart. Since the beginning, the brand has been committed to sustainable and ethical practices that have paved the way for others to follow. For example, the company was the first to introduce Organic Valencia Peanut Butter in 1989, which it did by subsidizing farmers' crops for five years to ensure their stabil- ity and fair pricing. In 2016, the company opened a 37,000 square feet, SQF Level 3 Certified facility to process its peanut butters, leaving the original facil- ity down the street to produce its tree nut and seed butters, as well as honey prod- ucts. With peanut butter now fully transi- tioned into the new building, the compa- ny is able to effectively control allergens in both facilities and safely reach an even wider audience of peanut butter lovers. "Our ultimate goal is to get more people to eat natural and organic nut but- ters, and that's something we're honored to accomplish every day our peanut but- ters are eaten and enjoyed," said Gael J. B. Orr, Marketing-Communications and PR Manager. Once Again's com- plete peanut butter line- up includes: organic creamy, organic crunchy, organic creamy (no salt), organic crunchy (no salt), organic no-stir creamy, organic no-stir crunchy, natural creamy, natural crunchy, natural creamy (no salt), natural crunchy (no salt) and natural no-stir creamy. Tubs are avail- able in 9-pound and 35-pound sizes, and Once Again Nut Butter also pro- duces up to 480 pound containers for industrial use. On a retail level, the products are sold in 16-ounce recycled glass jars. Visit Once Again Nut Butter at booth #551. For more information, go to www.onceagainnutbutter.com. The Powerful Intersection of Food and Agriculture Today's consumers want to know more about their food than ever before – and farmers want to share with consumers how they produce food. IFT 2019 marks the debut of Corteva Agriscience™, an agriculture company that wants to enable farmers to meet consumer needs in a thriv- ing food system. Corteva Agriscience's new purpose to "enrich the lives of those who produce and consume, ensuring progress for generations to come" chal- lenges the company to deepen the dia- logue between people engaged in agricul- ture and food to ensure sustainable growth and drive breakthrough innovation. "It's very appropriate that we are here at IFT during our first few days as our new company to meet with food industry leaders and begin to work more closely together," said Jim Collins, Chief Executive Officer, Corteva Agriscience. "Our success depends on our ability to share challenges and opportunities and grow together." Seed Science is Food Science Corteva Agriscience seeds grow into plants that feed the world. The company's balanced innovation creates seeds that deliver both strong agronomics and yield to farmers and quality food and sustain- able nutrition to consumers. As farmers and consumers increasingly demand choice, Corteva Agriscience develops its seeds through both tradi- tional and genetic modifica- tion methods, enabling all to make the choice best for them. Protecting Plants Protects Food The optimal seed is just the first step in food production. Farmers are challenged every day to grow high quality ingredi- ents for food companies, which requires them to take great care of their crops. Corteva Agriscience's crop protection platform is built from techniques used for centuries to eliminate pests, manage weeds, minimize waste and enable strong growth. Digital technologies enable farmers to monitor and measure progress, which helps minimize impact to biodiverse ecosys- tems, help manage emissions of greenhouse gases and pro- mote water conservation. The impact of agriculture innovation touches each bite of food we consume, which is why Corteva Agriscience is committed to working more closely with the food industry. Stop by booth #1943 to meet the team, visit openinnovation.corteva.com to share ideas on collaborating together and fol- low the company on LinkedIn. TransAct ® Technologies Incorporated, a global leader in software-driven technol- ogy and printing solutions for high- growth markets, announced the launch of BOHA!™, a comprehensive ecosys- tem of cloud-based SaaS apps and hard- ware solutions that will revolutionize how restaurant and food service compa- nies manage their back-of-house opera- tions. BOHA! is the first single-vendor solution to combine applications for inventory management, temperature monitoring of food and equipment, food safety labeling, food recalls, checklists and procedures, equipment service man- agement and delivery management in a single platform. Each BOHA! solution combines cloud-based SaaS applications with hardware and accessories to deliver superior results for critical back-of-house operations. BOHA! offers a one-stop solution for restaurants and foodservice companies to address their current back- of-house operating requirements while providing a future-ready platform capa- ble of addressing back-of-house opera- tions as they continue to evolve. Bart C. Shuldman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TransAct Technologies, said, "The launch of our new BOHA! SaaS-based software and hardware ecosystem marks a significant milestone for TransAct and the restaurant and foodservice industry. For the first time, operators can deploy a full, single- vendor suite of integrated software appli- cations and hardware solutions to auto- mate their back-of-house operations. Given the priority placed on having employees deliver the best customer experience in an environment with rising food and labor costs, all restaurant and food service companies are focused on adding automation and reducing admin- istrative tasks in their back-of-house operations to increase efficiency and lower costs. "Over the last several years, we have spent considerable time working with operators across the industry, including in their kitchens, to determine how best to help them address these critical needs. One of our key learnings was that restau- rant and foodservice operators want to simplify their processes with a single platform, single portal solution that pro- vides the highest level of relevant fea- tures and functionality while eliminating the complexity of managing multiple software and hardware products from multiple vendors. The result of our tire- less efforts is the development of BOHA!, an innovative range of products that can address what we believe is a large opportunity to offer automated solutions that streamline critical back-of- house processes. With BOHA!, TransAct is uniquely positioned to deliver a com- prehensive ecosystem of cloud-based SaaS apps, hardware and accessories."
