Overcome the Challenges of In-Store Customization with Direct to Garment Printing By Jazmin Casing, Marketing Manager at AnaJet, Inc., A Ricoh Company In-store customization is a powerful way to increase revenue, earn repeat business, build brand loyalty and stand out from the competition. While integrating any type of in-store customization is chal- lenging, direct to garment (DTG) print- ing offers one of the easiest, most effec- tive ways to provide in-store customiza- tion for your customers. Execute at Scale and Maintain Brand Quality One of the biggest challenges with creat- ing an in-store customization experience is scalability. To scale, a company must expand the variety of its offerings, which is no small feat considering that most forms of mass customization revolve around a limited number of products like custom-tailored shirts or custom-fitted, 3D-printed shoes. In contrast, DTG utilizes the exact same printing process for a wide range of customizable products like t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, shoes and much more. With DTG, it's easy to expand your cus- tomizable product offerings. Hearing Technology to Support Healthy Aging Imagine if readily available technology existed that could dramatically enhance the lives of people with a serious condi- tion, but only 5 percent of those who could benefit were taking advantage of it. This is the case for millions of people around the world living with disabling hearing loss who may be using a hearing aid (or potentially no hearing device at all), but could be better served by a cochlear implant. Hearing loss represents a significant global health burden, with 466 million people living with disabling hearing loss worldwide, and this figure is projected to grow to 900 million – one in every 10 people – by 2050. For many people, hear- ing loss is something that gradually creeps up on them. While a change in hearing may not be noticeable day to day, people with severe to profound hearing loss can eventually find themselves struggling to interact with others and encountering difficulty when trying to complete previously simple tasks. "The fastest-growing population in the United States is aged 65-plus, and hearing loss happens as we age, so we're seeing more people in need of advanced hearing technology," said Patti Trautwein, an audiologist and Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Cochlear. Diagnosing and treating hearing loss is important. In adults, hearing loss is associated with depression and increased risk of dementia, along with other serious health conditions. Despite wide- spread insurance and Medicare coverage for cochlear implants, many individuals with hearing loss who qualify for a cochlear implant are still missing out on this life-changing technology because they think that hear- ing aids are the only option for them. A cochlear implant is an electronic device that stimulates the hearing nerve and provides sound signals directly to the brain, which is entirely different to the way hearing aids work. To date, cochlear implants have changed the lives of hun- dreds of thousands of people around the world. Increasingly, evidence is showing that cochlear implants are an effective intervention for a much wider group of candidates than had previously been thought. "Patients should not delay discussing the best treatment option with their hearing healthcare provider. This problem isn't going to get better.
