Consumer Electronics Daily News Monday, January 7, 2019 3 2 World's Most Compact T-Shirt Printer: A Small Business in a Box By Jazmin Casing, Marketing Manager at AnaJet, Inc., A Ricoh Company Imagine if you could print high-quality personalized apparel on demand – and on the go. The groundbreaking all-in- one RICOH Ri 100 does exactly that. Named a CES 2019 Innovation Award Honoree, the Ri 100 is the world's first and only direct to garment (DTG) print- er that is available at a sub-$5,000 price point and is also small enough to fit eas- ily on a countertop or transport to events. Thanks to the integration of state-of- the-art DTG technology, the Ri 100 empowers users to create personalized clothing and accessories with vibrant, high-resolution images up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. Print any custom graphic directly onto a t-shirt in under a minute and then place it in the included stackable print finisher to cure the ink into the fab- ric. Because the integrated curing unit has no exposed heating elements, the Ri 100 is safe to use for printing apparel on- demand in homes and public environ- ments. Because of its portability, safety and ability to produce beautiful prints, the Ri 100 offers unique opportunities for grow- ing and promoting a business. You truly are limited only by your imagination. Start Selling Online The Ri 100 is very much a "business in a box." The system comes with enough ink and supplies to achieve ROI without additional investment, making it an easy way to start what can be a highly profitable business – but at an attrac- tively low cost of entry into the DTG market. Many of our customers have gotten started quickly, utilizing an e- commerce website and digital market- ing to sell their t-shirt designs online at margins exceeding 200 per- cent. Grow Revenue and Increase Brand Loyalty Research shows that retailers who adopt in-store customiza- tion are seeing a 6 percent to 10 percent increase in revenue – two to three times faster than those who don't. Because it's compact, safe and easy to use, the Ri 100 is an ideal way to offer personalized products to customers – and create that apparel in front of them, in-store. By combining personalized products that are not available anywhere else with an engaging, unique experience that cannot be replicated online, retailers can main- tain a thriving, competitive brick and mortar business in an increasingly digital economy. Make Events More Memorable – and More Profitable Another lucrative way to promote your brand is to print t-shirts on demand at events like fundraisers, sporting func- tions, community events, company parties and trade shows. A personal- ized t-shirt looks and feels like a souvenir spe- cial enough to justify the higher price tag you place on it. Plus, it is the kind of product that not only serves as a conver- sation piece, but is also something that customers are more likely to show off on their social media – gar- nering endorsement and further positive exposure of your brand. Here at AnaJet, we are always develop- ing new ways to help our customers get inspired and grow their businesses. We are passionate about how DTG technolo- gy drives this process, and we can't wait to share the exciting innovations coming in 2019. Phonak Honored for 'Accessibility' and '3D Printing' with Two CES 2019 Innovation Awards Phonak announced it has been named a two-time CES 2019 Innovation Awards Honoree for 'Accessibility' with Phonak Audéo Marvel and '3D Printing' with Phonak Virto B-Titanium. The announce- ment was made during CES Unveiled New York, an invite-only tech event bringing together top media, exhibitors and industry leaders for a sneak peek of the products and trends expected at CES 2019. Phonak Audéo Marvel is the world's first and only universal Bluetooth hearing aid to fully support direct stereo audio streaming from Android as well as iOS phones. This provides direct streaming access to the 86 percent of worldwide smartphone owners who utilize Android. Because Marvel hearing aids utilize Bluetooth Classic, they connect to Android, iPhone and billions of other Bluetooth devices – allowing hearing aid wearers to experience clear, rich sound and stream music, phone calls, video and more to both ears in full stereo. In addition, Phonak Marvel hearing aids enhance accessibility because they are rechargeable, giving wearers a full day of hearing, including streaming, on a single charge. With Marvel, Phonak introduces of a full suite of smart apps designed to enhance the user experience. This includes allowing wearers to have their hearing aids adjusted remotely in an online session in real-time, removing barriers to distance and potentially lead- ing to better patient outcomes. The Phonak Virto B-Titanium is the world's first 3D-printed titanium hear- ing aid designed and engineered with ultimate discretion in mind. The shell is made of medical grade titanium, making it 15 times stronger, 50 percent thinner and up to 26 percent smaller compared to standard acrylic shells. A thinner shell gives 3D modelers more real estate for electrical components and venting. It also enables a deeper placement in the ear canal, resulting in a virtually invisi- ble fit. "The CES Innovation Awards are a benchmark in consumer innovation and marketplace technology," said Thomas Lang, Senior Vice President. "Our entire team is honored to have Phonak's indus- try-leading hearing aids recognized for excellence in both Accessibility and 3D Printing. These award-winning hearing solutions continue to illustrate Phonak's boundless commitment to helping people live a life with no limitations." An annual program that celebrates outstanding design, the CES Innovation Awards recognizes honorees across 28 product categories. A panel of judges, including designers, engineers and mem- bers of the tech media, reviews submis- sions based on design, functionality, con- sumer appeal, engineering and how the products compare with competition. Zyxel to Debut LTE CBRS Outdoor Router for Fixed Wireless Access at Show Zyxel Communications, a leading provider of secure broadband network- ing, internet access and connected home products, is debuting at CES 2019 an LTE-A outdoor router that utilizes the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band to offer high-speed broad- band using LTE technology. The Zyxel LTE7480 LTE-A Pro Outdoor Routerenables network operators to cost- effectively provide high-speed connec- tivity to customers over last mile access. Ideal for use in suburban areas, pub- lic locations, homes and offices, the new routers utilize the 3.5 GHz CBRS spec- trum band, often referred to as the "inno- vation band." The LTE7480 leverages MIMO technology to enable service providers to deliver faster download speeds, greater network capacity and enhanced connectivity to subscribers in remote areas where other technologies would be cost-prohibitive. Features and benefits of the Zyxel LTE-A Outdoor Router: Lightning-Fast Internet Connectivity: LTE7480 employs 3GPP UE category 16 with downlink data rates of up to 573 Mbps through eight spatial streams on two carrier components. High-Gain Antennas: LTE7480 fea- tures a 4x4 MIMO, high-gain 10 dbi antenna; outdoor design enables the LTE7480 to work under near non-line-of- sight conditions to increase coverage and bandwidth. Easy to Deploy and Manage: The LTE7480 supports bridge and router functions for flexible deployment; 802.3at PoE eliminates need for separate power source; IP66 hardened industrial grade enclosures for mounting in harsh environments; TR-069 and remote GUI management; remote throughput testing capability. Non-Stop Connectivity: Wireless LTE provides multi-WAN fail-over with- out a cabling plan. As long as the gate- way supports multi-WAN fail-over, sim- ply connect the LTE7480 to the existing gateway and set the LTE as the fail-over WAN. "The use of CBRS gives network operators the option of delivering broad- band over the existing LTE mobile net- works, enabling them to provide service to untapped markets and rapidly increase their revenue," said Brian Feng, Senior Vice President at Zyxel. "The LTE7480 brings all the potential of CBRS technol- ogy in a feature-rich, high-performance package for service providers looking to offer innovative services like last-mile high-speed access, private LAN services for enterprises, or connectivity for large indoor venues such as stadiums and smart factories." Zyxel's line of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) products includes the new LTE7461 4G LTE-A Outdoor Router. The LTE7461, which can func- tion in bridge or router modes, employs 3GPP UE category 16 – the best-practice LTE technology – to provide downlink data rates of up to 400 Mbps through four spatial streams using 2x2 MIMO, high- gain 8 dbi antennas. Designed for deployment in harsh outdoor environ- ments, the LTE7461 is housed in an IP66 hardened industrial-grade enclosure. 802.3at PoE support ensures ease and flexibility of deployment, and the LTE7461 is easily managed using TR- 069 and remote GUI.
