Oser Founder Hardware & Housewares Review Thursday, May 11, 2017 4 STAY WARM, SAVE MONEY WITH AMAZE-HEATER An interview with Pete Vangala, Chief Operating Officer, Amaze-Heater LLC. HHR: Tell our readers about your com- pany. PV: Amaze-Heater LLC is a distributor for wall mounted electrical heaters in the U.S.A. We are UL Approved and the only company to offer three different sizes (250W, 400W and 600W). In addition, we also have a 100 watt heater for under- the-desk space heating in office settings. Our heaters work on the principle of nat- ural convection and provide gentle heat to the entire room without the use of a fan. HHR: Tell our readers more about the features of these wall mounted heaters. PV: Our wall mounted heaters are IEC 60335-2 and UL Approved and RoHS compliant. All electrical energy is con- verted to heat, so they are very energy efficient. They use innovative convection technology, have no moving parts and silent, no-noise operation. They are d e s i g n e d for contin- uous oper- ation – no maintenance required. The heating ele- ment has a long life, there is no glowing element and the oxygen level is not changed. HHR: What would you say makes your company unique? PV: We are not just distributors, but also hold major interest in the manufacturing company. We are owned and operated by engineers, so we are interested in developing the best product and are SAFE PAINT STRIPPERS FROM FRANMAR By Scott Sarver, Marketing Director, Franmar While innovations and changes in paint and paint removers may never garner the same type of public excitement as the lat- est advancement in smartphones, the last 25 years have seen some significant changes. Within the industry, we take note of advancements in pigments, hard- ness and reduced VOC levels, to name just a few. There are companies that are focused on making a better paint; at Franmar, we concentrate on how to best remove coatings for renovation and restoration. Though removing paint tends to be a rather messy affair, our products help to simplify the process both with regard to labor and cost, all while keep- ing the end user's safety in mind. Since the EPA AIM rule (standards for VOC levels in architectural coatings) took effect in 1999, we've all become very aware of VOCs. Since Franmar's inception 30-plus years ago, we have always sought to be ahead of the curve with regard to products that work but do not pose environmental or health con- cerns. When d i s c u s s i o n s and mandates r e g a r d i n g safety of strip- ping solvents came around, little if any change was needed for Franmar to meet or exceed those requirements. Our first product for the paint indus- try was SOY•Gel. Using the capabilities inherent in soy as a migrating agent, this gelled stripper cuts through multiple lay- ers of paint in a single application. With the success of SOY•Gel, a variety of other paint strippers were developed from the base chemistry: a sprayable Continued on Page 37 Continued on Page 37
