G a m i n g N e w s T h u r s d a y, A p r i l 2 , 2 0 1 5 1 8 2015 Best of Show solutions for casinos, banks and retailers. Our product emphasis is rooted in cash. Cash handling within the retail sector of a casino is costly and requires significant staff resources at all steps of the process. Our ability to count, authenticate, secure and automate cash transactions is, and will always be, our fundamental offering, and it creates billions of dollars of effi- ciency for casinos, banks and retailers around the world. GN: What separates Glory from its com- petitors? RF: Glory is the only company that designs, produces, deploys and provides the maintenance service on its own cash management products (e.g. kiosks and cash handling machines) in the industry. We're unique in that we can build upon our core cash handling expertise, offering customers an end-to-end cash management solution – other providers can't do that. Glory can legitimately sup- port every part of a casino's operations, from cage management and balancing tills, to ticket redemption and bill break- ing. GN: What trends is Glory seeing in the gaming industry, and how are they informing your product decisions? RF: The landscape of monetary trans- actions in the gaming industry is always changing and is forever becom- ing more complex. Right now there is a lot of conversation about the growth of e-payments, e-wallets and cashless gambling. But despite this, we're most certainly not reaching the end of the cash era. Indeed, we're actually seeing research from the Federal Reserve and Glory Global Solutions (Cont'd. from p. 1) global monetary authorities showing an increase in cash transactions around the world and an increase in cash in circulation. Cash is, and has always been, the foundation for monetary transactions for casino operations and retailers in the gaming industry. Our solutions help sim- plify the increasingly complex transac- tion landscape in this space and make dealing with cash more viable for cus- tomers. GN: What's next for Glory and its gam- ing division? RF: We continue to invest in the gaming sector and are committed to building quality solutions that deliver measurable business results for our customers. Recently we launched a new multi- function ATM kiosk, the SK-500. This release represents a milestone in our product development with increased transaction throughput, real-time activity monitoring and enhanced web based data management capability. The new SK-500 boasts the largest capacity in its class, with five 3,000 note cassettes, minimiz- ing the need to refill the kiosk on a busy casino floor. We're also advancing our retail solu- tions for the gaming sector with CashInfinity ® , an automated payment solution, as well as back office solutions that automate the employee bank for the retail operations within a casino. These offer a combination of technologies that create significant efficiencies across many cash handling activities within any casino operation. WIND CREEK CASINO AND HOTEL PARTNERS WITH BRUNSWICK BOWLING The Wind Creek Casino and Hotel in Atmore, Ala., is a major entertainment hub with a little something for every- one: a 50,000-square-foot gaming floor, a spa, a golf course, an eight- screen movie theater, an amphitheater, a game arcade with redemption games, restaurants, a sports bar with billiards, a yogurt/coffee bar and a bowling alley. The 16-lane Strikes Bowling Alley features four private lanes and a party room, and offers Cosmic Bowling, summer leagues and group lessons, as well as kiddie and group party packages. Housing the entertainment com- plex under one roof was not in the ini- tial plan. Wind Creek originally sought construction of a stand-alone complex, but the planning and development process made it realize the addition would be a great fit to the existing casino building. Wind Creek noticed that residents were driving 45 minutes to avail themselves of entertainment options. But by adding bowling, along with the likes of a cinema and an arcade, Wind Creek created a one-stop shop of all things enjoyable to many age groups and demographics. Kevin McGhee, the manager of the new facility, which opened in October 2014, said the addition has made the casino more of a destination. This new entertainment option, alongside the casino, hotel and other amenities, gives the property the full feel of a resort. Kevin Rack- ard, who was the C o n s t r u c t i o n Project Manager for the addition, found working with Brunswick b e n e f i c i a l . "Brunswick was top notch and accepted nothing less than perfection," he said. "The end product we received was second to none. The sales rep and installers knew their jobs well and made this first-time experience a success for us." An emerging trend among existing casinos is the addition of bowling cen- ters to their entertainment repertoires. The presence of a bowling center in a casino resort equates to increased foot traffic and enhanced market appeal. As a leisure sport suitable for tots to g r a n d p a r e n t s , bowling attracts all age groups and many different skill sets, and pro- duces entertain- ment in myriad ways. According to the 2013 Experian Simmons National Consumer Survey, more than 50 mil- lion adults ages 18 and over, and 17 million youths ages six to 17, bowled at least once a year – marking the sixth consecutive year of participatory growth. From kiddie parties to corpo- rate functions to leagues, bowling and its high participation figures are capa- ble of boosting traffic in an entertain- ment paradise like casinos.
