The eighth-largest school district in the U.S. had been using outdated electronic gradebooks to try to share grades with students and parents. "We needed something easy to use and easy for getting information home," said Gregory Hart, Manager, Web Communications, Hillsborough County Public Schools. For its 2013/2014 school year, Hillsborough moved its 200,000 stu- dents, 270 school sites, 18,000 teachers and other staff to the social learning and engagement platform Edsby. "The Edsby web-based interface means no client, so we don't have to worry about what our users have installed. It gives us a lot more flexibility and allows for a lot more students, par- ents and staff access," he said. 60-Day Rollout Edsby was installed and adopted amaz- ingly quickly at H i l l s b o r o u g h , given that the plat- form connects hun- dreds of thousands of students and manages more than 200,000 classes in the district every aca- demic quarter.
