P ro d u c e S h o w D a i l y 3 7 Th u r s d a y, J u n e 1 2 , 2 0 1 4 company unique? KK: Extensive backgrounds in POS and banking and working with retailers for over 15 years, we have the experience to deliver simple, easy to use and train equipment with an extremely complex technology hidden in the back office. There are now approximately 150 million people in America that are bank challenged. Twenty-four percent of this group cashes its checks at a grocery store, making the grocery store a front- line delivery point of banking services for this huge market. KI built the SwordATM™ for this application. PSD: Did your marketing strategy in the past year provide you the overall position you had projected? KK: Yes, our marketing has been very successful within other retail delivery channels. We have a huge following, and now we are here at FMI Connect to cap- ture the grocery channel. SwordATM addresses all the growing concerns over legacy out of date check cashing methods as well as all the new challenges of ID and check fraud while the SwordATM meets and exceeds the U.S. Treasury's regulations for BSA/AML, Patriot Act KYC, Remote Deposit Capture, Check 21, etc. As the banks cut off third party check cashing, resulting in difficulties for grocery stores to deliver check cashing services, the SwordATM solves all of these issues. PSD: What do you anticipate to be your greatest challenge in the year ahead? KK: Well I can tell you what our great- est challenge will not be public accept- ance! The people have spoken! In every article, study or 'man on the street' SwordATM ( Cont'd. from p. 1) interview, the people want a bank account! The total failure of prepaid cards to gain acceptance, loyalty or 'stickiness' by the unbanked has been no less a debacle. For America not to have a third bank product for a huge market that turns to check cashers and pay day loans is no less of a complete failure of the bank system. PSD: Who are your target end-users? KK: The SwordATM produces an 'instant issue' photo ID debit card or check card, if you will. Anyone not found on a terrorist 'watch list' may receive a debit card, banked or unbanked. So our target market is anyone who wants a sim- ple, easy to use bank account with lower fees than prepaid cards. Simple as defined as no checks, no NSF fees, no overdraft fees, no complex credit card fees and no paper statements. Just swipe the grocery store branded debit card at any POS, gas pump or ATM for access to your money. PSD: How can our readers find out more about your company? KK: KI has multiple websites: SwordATM, DebitBankAccount and BuyHereBankHere to name a few. The SwordATM demo may be found on YouTube or your readers may call me direct. I'll take the call and if it's better suited for a partner to handle the call, I'll send you there. We have an open door, very hands-on policy and that's what's driven the development of SwordATM and the Debit Bank Account, our staff interacting with the public, retailers and the government. For more information, visit www.SwordATM.com, call 702-490- 6031, email info@kerridgeinternational .com or stop by booth #3711. Texas; Mission, Texas and Progreso, Texas. We began offering money transmis- sion services to the produce industry after seeing the produce industry need to pay Mexico vendors quickly and with aggres- sive exchange rates. We have developed an online application allowing clients to view historical transaction reports along with bank receipts confirming deliveries of funds. We also provide produce clients with freight payment services, in which pro- duce clients utilize TME vouchers for their payments to Mexico trucking com- panies delivering shipments to the U.S. Vouchers are then cashed by Mexico trucking companies at any of our 14 branches, and a 24-hour branch is also available for those late or weekend deliv- eries. Our work includes everything from feasibility studies, modest remodels to brand new Greenfield projects. We work for food wholesalers, food processors, retailers and cold storage companies. PSD: What would you say makes your company unique? SK: ESI's specialty in the food business has enabled us to develop and retain a highly skilled architectural, engineering and construction staff. Our emphasis on quality design, quality execution, hon- esty and integrity puts us in a unique position of getting nearly 80 percent of our work from existing clients. In addi- tion, we have decided to concentrate all of our efforts toward the food industry alone and to continue to develop and expand our expertise. Our own in-house design, project management and full con- struction staff specialize only in food and related businesses, such as cold storage and material handling systems. ESI's in- house design staff includes architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engi- neers, refrigeration and industrial engi- neers who have continued to develop their expertise in food facilities. In addi- tion, we have developed expertise in USDA, FDA, AIB and LEED standards and regulations. PSD: What distinguishes your products from the competition? SK: ESI has many competitors but only a few peers. Each competitor wants to build buildings, but very few have the full knowledge and expertise to build an efficient food processing or distribution facility. We have made a conscious effort to continue to build upon our past experi- ences within the food industry by contin- ESI ( Cont'd. from p. 1) uing to train our staff in the food industry. ESI also believes that quality design and thoughtful construction execution gives the best value to our clients. Our core values are honesty, integrity and giving the client true value in our work. PSD: Who are your target end-users? SK: Our target clients range from small to large companies that are both private- ly and publically held. We are the best fit for companies looking for growth in their business as well as a way to improve their operations through capital improve- ments. Our experience in the industry can help smaller companies compete with the big guys by providing them with our spe- cialized knowledge of the industry, shar- ing techniques to reduce operating costs and introducing technologies that give them a boost over their competition. Our biggest asset for all sized clients is our longevity. There really isn't anything we haven't seen. PSD: To what do you attribute your com- pany's success? SK: Our success comes because our clients are and continue to be successful. We endeavor to help them be successful by applying our special skill sets to their projects. In the end, our past clients pro- vide recommendations to our future clients verbally, in writing and by exam- ple. We treat our clients like we want to be treated, with honesty and integrity. We still believe in honoring a handshake and do what we promise. Contact Steve directly at smking@ esigroupusa.com or by calling 360-604- 3534.
