DESIGNITERATIVE LAUNCHES UNIQUE PRODUCT LINE FOR SERVICE RETAILERS By D. Christopher Howe, Principal Design Strategist, designiterative At designiterative, we understand the challenges of planning and maintaining an effective retail communication pro- gram for service retailers. This is why we decided to launch a unique standard product line that address those needs. Our modular, adaptable system offers simple, cost-effective solutions that capi- talize on architectural assets for customer messaging and branding. This system addresses cost-effec- tive, "short-term" promotional content as well as "longer-term" brand trade dress with large format graphic options. The system leverages a graphic grid, inter- changeable components and minimal hardware to create a messaging platform that is easy to change out and will create scale and impact. The ST Grid (Short-Term) dis- plays are a good option for low-cost, paper-based graphic inserts typically used for quarterly campaigns or pro- motions. This system hangs 22-inch by 22-inch modular panels, which provide for maximum architectural scalability while still being a manageable size for staff to change out. With a minimal profile and stand-off, displays float off the wall and create a continuous large format graphic that focuses on your message. The LT Grid (Long-Term) displays provide an evergreen approach to branding your environment. Messaging could focus on mission, brand promise, staff expertise, local community, or community involvement as a way to build loyalty and differentiate the brand. This unique display system uti- lizes easy-to-handle magnetic receptive paper graphics and contains a backer with inherent self-aligning properties for accessory components. Angled edges hide support hardware and focus customers on your message. Accessories include additional mag- netic graphic overlays, dry-erase sur- faces, literature dispensing and addition- al self-aligning graphic promotional win- dows that make updating easy and recon- figuring simple. Floor stanchions are also available as a cost effective way to acti- vate floor space. An interview with David Williams, design- er of the Trinity Furniture products. HDSD: Let's start with a little introduc- tion to Trinity Furniture. DW: Trinity Furniture is based in Trinity, N.C., and I'm proud to say that all of their products have been made right there since 1984. HDSD: Tell me about your new designs that Trinity is bringing to NeoCon this year. DW: The new items are additions to the Facelift Collection, which has been very well received since its introduction at NeoCon a few years ago. This furniture meets customer demand, particularly from the health care industry, for furnish- ings that can be maintained to last for more than just a couple of years. All of these pieces are renewable, recyclable and have replaceable covers that can be removed for cleaning when they get soiled or replaced as necessary. Beyond that, they look so great and have such a beautiful designer aesthetic that you just wouldn't think that they're so utilitarian. HDSD: What are the particular pieces? DW: The Replay Guest Seating, side chairs that will have these features and a unique integral ganging system that will allow you to place one seat next to the other and they'll click together to form rows of seats, like you see in a medical office, for instance. You can unplug those seats if one gets damaged and you need to replace it, or if you want to change the configuration. HDSD: What's the advantage of having chairs that plug into each other? DW: Historically, chairs used in this fashion had to be bolted together. But what happens if the cleaning crew comes in and needs to work around this furniture? They're not going to unbolt these pieces. They'll just work around it as best as they can. With this furniture, they can simply unplug the pieces and do a very thorough cleaning job under them. Plus if a piece in the middle of the row gets damaged, you can simply unplug it and insert another chair. HDSD: How do NeoCon attendees find Trinity? DW: Trinity is on the eighth floor in space 4062. After the show, visit at www.trinityfurniture.com or call toll-free at 855-311-6660. TRINITY FURNITURE: UTILITARIAN FUNCTION, DESIGNER AESTHETIC
