Broadcasters Show Daily Monday, April 20, 2020 1 4 NANUK Adds New Larger Cases NANUK, with more than 35 years designing and developing world-class waterproof protective cases for valuable gear, announced the addition of two new and large-size cases to its product lineup. The addition of the NANUK 968 and NANUK 970 brings its case count to 30 in total with seven new models added in the last 12 months. The two cases were created to meet the growing demand from videographers and photographers to transport their gear and drones. Both are built to NANUK's high standard for protection and are designed to take extreme abuse so expensive and mis- sion-critical equipment doesn't have to. Like the entire NANUK line, the two new cases are built with an NK-7 resin shell that's waterproof, dustproof, impact resist- ant and lightweight, with rounded corners, thick walls and oversized details. They're shock-absorbent to prevent damage to the case, and more importantly, to the valu- able gear that they're made to protect. Every NANUK case includes superi- or, patented PowerClaw latches which use compressive force to clamp the lid tight. For easy transporta- tion, the new NANUK 968 and NANUK 970 sport two soft-grip spring-loaded handles, one retractable soft-grip handle and roll smoothly with their ultra- durable polyurethane wheels, even on rough terrain. They're backed with a lifetime warranty, NANUK's assurance that it builds protective cases to last. The interior dimensions for the two new cases are: NANUK 968 (21.5 inches by 21.5 inches by 11.8 inches); and NANUK 970 (24.0 inches by 24.0 inches by 14.2 inches). NANUK's two new cases are built for photogra- phy, videography and broadcasting, but NANUK anticipates high demand from industrial, tactical, law enforcement and mili- tary pros who want to organize, protect and carry their gear with full confidence. The NANUK 968 and 970 join the recently introduced 985, 938, 955, 963 and 965. For more information, visit www.nanuk.com. Add Rugged Fingerprint Functionality to Your Product Line By Jeff Brown, Vice President of Sales, SecuGen Corporation What is the U20-ASFX? The U20-ASFX is an ultra-compact standalone fingerprint sensor module. It is designed for OEMs and developers to embed into a wide variety of hardware products that require fingerprint biomet- ric functionality. Examples include mobile devices, ATMs, POS devices, access control sys- tems, lock boxes, safes – nearly anything that could benefit from the added security and convenience of biometrics. It comes preloaded with SecuGen's Fingerprint Management System soft- ware that allows it to be used right out of the box to capture fingerprint images, extract templates, enroll, search and match fingerprints all in one device. What is special about the U20-ASFX? Just within one small programmable device, the U20-ASFX provides the tools and technologies that allow for the rapid and efficient development of a wide vari- ety of embedded fingerprint solutions where high quality, rugged design and affordability are key factors. Its predecessor, the U20-SF was the first of the Unity line of fingerprint products featuring a well-thought out and designed Biometric Development Platform (BDP), that represents a paradigm shift in the OEM biometric space. The U20-ASFX pushes the envelope further by offering an amped up storage capacity of 10,000 users (or 20,000 fingerprint templates) on a single device. What's inside the module? The core of the U20-ASFX sensor mod- ule is the U20-A, a rugged, high image quality optical fingerprint sensor. This sensor also features an integrated Single Board Computer that contains a 1 GHz CPU, a fully programmable Linux sys- tem, SecuGen's fingerprint matching SDK, and OpenSSL Cryptographic libraries. The template extraction and matching algorithms that run on the device are NIST MINEX certified. All of this power and functionality is packed into an ultra-compact profile that has defied our old model of a sensor and a separate board running the extraction and matching algorithms. Being able to unite all the parts of the OEM sensor and shrink them into one very small sensor and at the same time embedding an open Linux development environment makes this product unique in the industry. What does this mean for OEMs? We have for many years focused exclu- sively on delivering to our OEM partners the tools they need to compete success- fully in this highly competitive industry and are pleased to continue to deliver world class OEM sensors. Coupling our high quality, rugged optical fingerprint sensors that SecuGen is known for, with a sophisticated development platform, the BDP represents a giant leap forward in OEM fingerprint technology.
