Broadcasters Show Daily Wednesday, April 10, 2019 8 New X Series Kenwood eXcelon Amplifiers The Kenwood eXcelon X series ampli- fiers are being revamped this year with several improvements. Three new Kenwood eXcelon amplifiers are being introduced, including two multi-channels – the X302-4 (4 channel) and X802-5 (5 channel) – as well as a new mono-block, the X502-1. Many enhancements for the next generation of X series amplifiers have been implemented. First, a dedicated speaker level input has been added, whereas previously, speaker level input connectivity was only supported through the RCA inputs, requiring more labor to make your own cables. Now, adding these amplifiers to many OEM stereos is simplified with the included speaker input cable. Another new addition to these amplifiers is a remote controller input, enabling users to control the Bass channel input sensitivity from the option- al KCA-RC01A remote control. The KCA-RC01A features both surface and flush mounting options for installation flexibility. Speaking of enhanced instal- lation ease – now all terminals are on the same side, and a new sliding terminal block cover is being introduced, making for an easier and more aesthetically pleasing install. Sound quality is also taken to the next level, with improvements on both the mechanical and electrical sides. The screw holes are now being placed on aluminum parts for better vehicle vibra- tion control on all new X series ampli- fiers. With the adoption of a variable gain circuit, the signal to noise ratio is effectively improved as well. In the X502-1, a polymer multi-layer capaci- tor (PMLCAP) has been incorporated into the low pass filter circuit, reducing total harmonic distortion. An infrasonic filter has also been added, enabling unnecessary frequencies outside of the audible range to be eliminated, improv- ing the speaker's playback and longevi- ty. In the X502-1 and X802-5, the out- put coil has been changed to a magnetic shield type, further reducing unwanted radiated noise. All new Kenwood eXcelon X series amplifiers boast impressive specs: X302- 4: 75 watts RMS x 4 at 2Ω, 150 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 4Ω; X502-1: 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2Ω or 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4Ω; X802-5: 75 watts RMS x 4 + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2Ω or 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4Ω, 150 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 4Ω + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2Ω or 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4Ω. Blonder Tongue Introduces NXG-XCODER for HD Encoding and Transcoding The NXG-XCODER is part of the Blonder Tongue best-selling NeXgen Gateway (NXG) Video Management Platform, which supports full two-way service provider content delivery to enterprise locations via traditional coaxi- al cable, fiber or Ethernet. The NXG addresses the challenges of migrating to future IP-DRM content protection prac- tices, while supporting ingest of today's PowerKey ® and MediaCipher ® encrypt- ed streams. Blonder Tongue will contin- ue to add NXG modules to handle next generation technologies as they are intro- duced. The NXG-XCODER can accept up to four high-definition (HD) programs from 4xHDMI input connectors, or up to eight IP SPTS (Single Program Transport Streams) via NeXgen Gateway's IP back- plane. The NXG-XCODER module can encode the HDMI input sources, or transcode IP sources in either MPEG-2, H.264, VP9 or H.265 codec formats. These encoded or transcoded IP transport streams are delivered through the NeXgen Gateway's IP backplane to any of available NeXgen modules. The NXG-XCODER standard module provides encoding and transcoding in either MPEG-2, H.264, or VP9 codec formats. Advanced H.265 video encoding and transcoding capability is available at time of order or can be installed on an existing NXG-XCODER module in the field by purchasing the NXG-H265-LIC license key. Encoded and transcoded IP transport stream programs are delivered through the backplane to any of these other NXG modules: QAM (Model NXG-32CH- QM), IP Clear (Model NXG-IP) or with Pro:Idiom (Model NXG-PI-IP). The NXG-XCODER allows the user to cus- tomize their channel lineup by insertion of locally generated con- tent targeting unique viewer requirements or creating a source for advertising revenue. Remote Field Management capabilities are designed to allow users to easily configure video con- tent, encodes and transcodes for in-house distribution needs. You will also be able to download new firmware, configure IP targets and inputs, and provide alarms for errors. For more information, visit booth #SU11107 or go to www.blonder tongue.com.
