Oser Founder Produce Show Daily Saturday, October 20, 2018 4 Agriculture Products from Continental Western Corporation Continental Western Corporation is a full line supplier of agriculture products, including twine, gloves, sheeting, pack- aging and shipping supplies. For over 65 years, CWC has been a leader in the agriculture industry and continues to provide quality products, timely deliv- ery and outstanding customer service to customers large and small. Its goal is to deliver the utmost in experience and value to its customers as the company continues to expand its product lines, geographical reach and improve its technology. In June of 2018, CWC acquired Wholesale Safety, an industrial safety company that specializes in Metal Detectables for food and drug process- ing. With this acquisition, CWC is proud to offer a complete line of Metal Detectables and additional safety prod- ucts. In food processing, the chances for foreign object contamination are increased, which can cause product loss, clean-up and m a i n t e n a n c e costs, process- ing downtime and ultimately can be detri- mental to a company's reputation. Metal Detectables are instrumental in helping to prevent these costly issues by detect- ing foreign object contamination before shipment. Continental Western Corporation is excited about its technological improve- ments. Earlier this year, it launched a new and improved eCommerce website, Able Freight Services, Inc. Puts Customer Needs First Able Freight continues to focus on utiliz- ing technology to deliver exceptional services for its customers, ensuring the company is strategically positioned for future growth and disrupting the industry. The key areas of focus include: cre- ating an innovative culture throughout the company; roll-out of its DataHub shipment tracking portal, implementation of commodity-based shelf-life formulas for global clients; piloting a blockchain to DataHub as related to Internet of Things (temperature trackers) and remaining days of shelf-life in real-time along the way. The company is also lead- ing the way with integration of electronic airway bills (eAWB) with airlines, while introducing new mobile Quality Check (QC) tools for better freshness grading and quality reports. Orlando Wong, Able Freight Services' Executive Vice President, notes that Able remains committed to embrac- ing new technology. "Able Freight Services adapts relevant technology for use in the perishable freight forwarding industry, as the market demands more and more high-performance and preci- sion among its players," explains Wong. Able has become one of the first per- ishable freight forwarding companies to create a Technology and Innovation Department. "Able's leadership in the trans- portation and logistics industry is because of the company's focus upon real-time data visibility, atomization and predictive sys- tems," Wong notes. He sees an even greater technological focus over the next five years. Such focus has created a cul- ture of innovation within the company and gives all employees a sense of com- munity for its new technology vision. One of Able's recent projects from its technology department is its new cus- tomer portal called DataHub. A web and mobile-based system which provides real Continued on Page 61 Continued on Page 61
