BioSafe Systems Celebrates 20 Years of Innovation BioSafe Systems, a pioneer in sustain- able crop protection and food safety solu- tions, is proud, honored and humbled to celebrate its 20th anniversary. From a one-bedroom apartment that doubled as an office, the innovative idea behind BioSafe Systems was born. The journey began with an innovative, powerful active ingredient now known as Peroxyacetic Acid (PAA). Starting with just a father/son team pursuing a dream, BioSafe Systems evolved into an interna- tional source of sustainable, environmen- tally responsible chemistries with appli- cations in a variety of industries. To this day, the company stands by its unwaver- ing commitment to provide its customers with solution-driven products that also reduce the environmental footprint. BioSafe Systems was first to market with a proprietary PAA formulation that growers weren't sure had a place in their operations. In the 20 years since, it has worked to provide its customers with innovative solutions for crop protection, water treatment, spoilage control and food safety. Over the last two decades, BioSafe Systems has let ideas for new products and technologies come from the source that drives its success – its customers. Without its customers, distribution part- ners and other industry sup- porters, there would be no BioSafe Systems today. Your ever-evolving needs to meet safety guidelines, while still pro- ducing enough food for the growing pop- ulation, have been the driving source behind technological advances. By find- ing creative solutions to address your daily challenges, BioSafe Systems has been able to develop its product portfo- lio, as well as offer expert advice and provide innovative new technologies that increase efficiency and bottom line. As the company heads into its next 20 years, it is excited to intro- duce new, ground-breaking technologies based on the needs of its customers. BioSafe Systems thanks you for 20 years of unwavering support, ideas and dedication that have helped its founders realize their dream and create a vision for the future – without you, it might still be in its one- room office, just a father/son team work- ing towards a dream. Onions 52 Rebrand a Roaring Success In 2017, Utah Onions, Inc. and its corpo- rate officers took a leap of faith with the debut of a new name, new logo and com- plete brand overhaul. Needless to say – the company nailed it. According to Chief Executive Officer Bob Meek, in the past year, Onions 52 has excelled in all areas, with the company's rebranding efforts at the helm of it all. Increased grower partner- ships, exclusive new products, a fresh new website and six company hires in the past 365 days are just a few of the mile- stones Onions 52 has accomplished in its first year. "Last year was the 40th year of business for Utah Onions, Inc., and the need for a name change to reinforce a more accurate description of services was long overdue," Meek stated. "Looking back one year ago today, we can honestly say that our marketing and branding efforts have been a catalyst to our continuing growth and customer success." With the new name, Onions 52 also brought on new personnel within the last year. Meek said, "Falon Rufty is leading our marketing and business development efforts, and joining our booming sales team are Travis Hess, Hadley Willis and Lacie Skarda. Haden Flint recently joined our transportation department, and Mallory Cochran recently joined our incredible accounting team." Partnerships with local growers have also flourished for the vertically integrated onion operation. "Our Carzalia Valley Produce in Columbus, New Mexico, was a brand-new alliance formed last year, and it filled an extremely important window from May to August. We look forward to contin- uing this partnership and expanding on acreage in the years to come. With partner- ships in Washington, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon, Colorado, California, Texas and Mexico, we are able to con- trol both quality and supply 52 weeks a year." To complete the big news from Onions 52, Meek said, "We recently moved into our new packing plant and corporate office just north of Salt Lake City to expand our production in Utah." In addition to the new packing plant, the company also has a two-year old certified organic packaging facility located in Dallas. Meek continued, "There's never a week without onions for us. That's what set us apart. When you think of onions, we want con- sumers, friends and industry professionals to think of Onions 52." About Onions 52 Since 1977, Onions 52 has been known as the nation's leading grower-shipper of the highest quality yellow, red, white, sweet and organic onions. With grow- ing/packaging partners across the United States and Mexico, Onions 52 promises quality delivered 52 weeks a year. Visit Onions 52 at booth #4181.
