EdTech Show Daily Tuesday, June 26, 2018 8 Classroom Collaboration with ELMO's Huddle Space Technology is more present in the class- room than ever before. K-12 schools across the country are moving towards 1:1 learning models with all kinds of hands-on learning devices being used, many of which are brought by students from home. Schools are then tasked with adapting to the evolution of education technology without worrying about stretching their budgets. ELMO's Huddle Space Collaboration Hub was designed with these ever-changing technology needs in mind. The Huddle Space is an education- al teamwork tool that fosters a collabora- tive classroom environment, provides new learning opportunities and ensures that every student has the chance to par- ticipate and share his or her ideas. The Huddle Space is a simple 8 HDMI input connection source that allows users to switch seamlessly between plugged-in devices and share their screens with the rest of the group, so students can effortlessly work together on projects and group discussions. Switching from one device to another is as simple as pressing a button – no plug- ging and unplugging is necessary. Huddle Space is perfect for schools with tight budgets, stressed AV depart- ments and limited Wi-Fi bandwidth. Huddle Space doesn't require any soft- ware installation or internet connection, and it connects to any HDMI compatible device – iPad, Chromebook, Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, even your favorite ELMO Document Camera – making it the perfect solution for 1:1 and BYOD classrooms. Capture lessons through Huddle Space's built-in conferencing micro- phone and recording capabilities. Huddle Space will record audio and video input and create a file that can be played back as a video at any time. This gives teach- ers additional insight into how the stu- dents are working together and the ability to review the work process later. Teachers can even record lessons for the students to review before exams and assignments. ELMO offers a Pilot School Program that allows K-12 schools across the coun- try the chance to expe- rience the Huddle Space Collaboration Hub and discover its impact on classroom learning. The program is currently in its sec- ond year and has suc- cessfully improved classroom structure and technology use for many educators. Even school administrators have used Huddle Space through the program, for everything from writing their accredita- tion manuals to professional development co-presentations. To see the Huddle Space Collaboration Hub in action, as well as the rest of ELMO's 2018 New Product Lineup, stop by booth #716. For more information, visit www.elmousa.com or call 516.401.1400. "The new volume dial is perfect for users with external speakers, giving you four times finer control over the volume. That's 64 vol- ume levels, compared to the 16 levels you get from the volume keys," said Chief Executive Officer Edgar Matias. The keyboard is available in a wide range of international layouts (US, EU, Asian) and can be ordered now. The Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard is available for $59 (US) from Matias and authorized resellers. Matias makes other keyboards as well, and has been manufacturing key- boards for over 15 years. The Matias Backlit Wireless Aluminum Keyboard, which comes in silver or space gray, is a high-end slim aluminum keyboard with number pad. It has the ability to pair to four different devices and easily switch between them. It features backlighting, with 10 levels of brightness control. The keyboard has two rechargeable batteries: one for the key- board operation itself that lasts up to a year before needing to be recharged, and a separate one for the backlighting that lasts up to two weeks before needing to be recharged. This ensures that you can keep typing even if your backlight bat- tery gets drained. Matias is also known for its high performance mechanical keyboards, made with its own mechanical switches. Mechanical keyboards made by Matias include the classic Tactile Pro Keyboard for Mac, the Quiet Pro Keyboard (which gives you mechan- ical typing without the noise normally associated with mechanical keyboards) and the separated Ergo Pro Keyboard, for the ultimate in ergonomic typing and comfort.
