DAYMARK UPDATES FIRST AID KITS TO STAY IN COMPLIANCE WITH 2015 ANSI/ISEA STANDARDS In an effort to consistently ensure employee safety and meet customer needs, DayMark Safety Systems is intro- ducing an expanded line of SafetyApplied ® First Aid Kits and refill bundles at the 2016 National Restaurant Association Show. DayMark's updated product line for first aid in a foodservice setting will include new and additional items that will bring customers into com- pliance with the recently revised ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2015 standard. The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA), in association with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), announced changes to its American National Standard Minimum Requirements for Workplace First Aid Kits and Supplies. As of June 17, 2016, many first aid kits that are cur- rently in use will no longer meet the revised ANSI/ISEA standard. The expanded required items for a basic first aid kit means that employees will have greater access to products need- ed to treat common workplace injuries. Several of the supplies that are now required were considered "recommend- ed" by the previous standard, released in 2009. DayMark will offer two versions of their first aid kits: a standard kit for food- service operations consisting of 35 or fewer employees, and a larger kit for 50 or fewer employees. Both kits are OSHA and ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2015 compliant, containing items appropri- ate for accidents that typi- cally occur in the foodser- vice industry such as burns, cuts and other com- mon workplace injuries. The SafetyApplied Standard First Aid Kit, which will replace DayMark's FAK 35 kit, is recommended for operations of 35 or fewer people. Wall mountable, it is the perfect "all around" size for a large per- centage of establishments. Refills for DayMark's standard kit can be conve- niently re-ordered in six bundles, each of which contains multiple items to reduce the hassle of maintaining individual SKUs. DayMark also offers the SafetyApplied Large First Aid Kit (in lieu of its previously offered FAK 50 kit), which contains a more robust inventory of items than the Standard First Aid Kit. Recommended for operations of 50 peo- ple or less, the kit measures 13 inches by 14 inches, and like the standard kit, is wall mountable. Both SafetyApplied first aid kits feature high- ly visible blue fabric bandages, which are more identifiable than standard bandages and prevent potential safety issues. The compartments feature a built-in planogram that ensures that supplies are properly organized, and locking tabs that securely hold refills and discourage theft. Customers who currently use the FAK 35 or FAK 50 will have the ability to purchase "retro packs" in order to bring existing first aid kits into compli- ance with the new standard.
