Product development and energy savings continue to enhance Bally's full Bally (Cont'd. from p. 1) line of refrigeration products. This comes off of a very successful product introduction (and innovation award recipient) at NAFEM 2013 of the BQ line of condensing units, offering a compact design scroll and hermetic condensing units for both medium and low temperature units ranging from 1 HP medium to 6 HP low temp units. Tests have shown a reduction in sound levels of 15 dba over conventional style condensing units. These units are also equipped with EC variable speed motors, further enhancing the energy saving potential. Coyle states these new products are continuing examples of Bally's contin- ued focus on delivering to the market energy efficient refrigeration systems designed to meet elevated customer expectations while exceeding new Federal Energy standards. DayMark pioneered water-soluble, regu- latory-compliant food labeling in 1997 with the introduction of Dissolve-A- Way™ adhesive labels. Most recently, we began a new, exclusive partnership with TransAct Technologies to introduce DayMark's 9700 Food Label Terminal in the U.S. and abroad. This versatile kitchen automation tool offers a range and com- bination of features that no other unit on the market can boast, including a full- color touchscreen display, real-time clock, dual printer mechanisms, batch printing capability and an intuitive menu editor. When combined with DayMark's innovative dissolving, re-positionable and removable direct thermal labeling solutions, the 9700 Food Label Terminal is ideal for inventory and shelf life man- agement, as well as grab and go labeling. FEN: How does the DayMark 9700 Label Terminal help restaurants and foodservice operators? JP: The DayMark 9700 label terminal, with respect to food rotation manage- ment, can save foodservice operations significant labor dollars annually when compared to handwriting food prep and storage labels. On average, $3,650 or more can be saved each year – or, at a minimum, one labor hour per day. Many of our customers achieve much greater labor savings. They all recognize quickly that the DayMark 9700 label terminal also decreases employee training costs, increases legibility and accuracy of inventory and shelf life labeling, and in turn, helps decrease food spoilage and waste. FEN: How can foodservice operators utilize the DayMark 9700 label terminal for grab and go product labels? DayMark Safety Systems (Cont'd. from p. 1) JP: The same labeling requirements that apply to packaged grocery items also apply to national restaurant chains and other foodservice venues that offer popu- lar grab and go items. Therefore, these custom labels must include consumer information such as nutritionals, ingredi- ents and allergens. For ease of transac- tion, barcode information is also desired on the label. All of this can be accom- plished with the DayMark 9700 label ter- minal. Because DayMark has digital and HD flexographic printing capabilities, we can commercially print color-correct branded labels that can be loaded into the DayMark 9700 and imprinted on demand with the critical grab and go product information. This eliminates the need for a restaurant and other foodservice opera- tions to inventory countless types of cus- tom labels in favor of printing their grab and go product labels only as they need them. FEN: How do potential new customers know that they can trust you with their business? JP: Well-respected brands like Dunkin Donuts, Denny's, Zaxby's, Tony Roma's, Moe's Southwest Grill and many others already trust DayMark in their kitchens. The DayMark 9700 terminal and our direct thermal labeling technology are readily approved and recommended to franchisees for ease-of-use, cost savings and the opportunity to redirect team members to important customer-facing activities. DayMark also takes a very cus- tomer-centric approach when helping new chains integrate the DayMark 9700 label terminal into their operation. Each unit is delivered with a comprehensive warranty that includes a 24-hour, toll-free hotline for responsive technical support. One of the easiest and most cost effective ways to reduce water consump- tion is through the use of low flow aera- tors and spray valves. Encore faucets are available with low-flow aerators that deliver as little as 0.5 gallons of water per minute. Standard pre-rinses come with 1.6gpm spray faces, and 1.2gpm and.65gpm sprays are also available. For even lower water consumption, the KLF variable flow pre-rinse gives the operator a choice of three spray patterns and flow rates, as low as 0.59gpm. Encore's new PowerPulse pre-rinse boasts an industry- best flow rate of 0.48 gallons per minute. The unique pulsing action of the spray valve powers off soil in as little as 10 sec- onds. The PowerPulse spray valve is interchangeable with most competitors' spray valves. Encore pre-rinse hoses feature a heavy-duty, solid stainless steel strain relief coil to transfer load stress, signifi- cantly improving hose life by as much as 50 percent. If the outer hose does finally crack, the three-ply Santoprene inner hose will still prevent leaks. All Encore pre-rinses are covered by a two-year war- ranty, including the hose. One of foodservice operators' top Component Hardware (Cont'd. from p. 1) food safety concerns is poor hand wash- ing. Encore's new line of KE19 and KE21 Electronic Faucets offer a 20 sec- ond adjustable time-out feature to pro- mote proper hand washing procedures. Energy-efficient solenoid technology only uses power to open or close, so bat- tery life is typically 500,000 cycles, or 250,000 hand washes. Standard features include a thermostatic mixing valve with integral hot and cold check valves and cleanable filter. The product line includes splash mount and deck mount models, as well as a choice of low flow aerators. A three-year warranty is standard. Encore's line of hose reels makes clean-up safer and easier. With a choice of 15, 30, 35 and 50 foot hoses, open and enclosed hose assemblies in powder coated and stainless steel, choosing the right hose reel for the job at the right price point is easy. Operators can specify standard pre-rinse valves or trigger guns. The DBN-8000 and DSS-8000 Series rotary drains deliver three times the flow rate of conventional lever drains. The large ball valve allows servicing from the top without disassembly, saving plumbing calls. The DSS-8000 Series fea- tures a 316 stainless steel drain body to withstand harsh cleaning solutions.
