C l e a n i n g N e ws Th u r s d a y, N o ve m b e r 6 , 2 0 1 4 6 SUREFOOT EZ: NEXT GENERATION CLEANER, DEGREASER By Mona L. Grelck, Marketing Xperience Intercon Chemical Company, a leading manufacturer of industrial, institutional and professional cleaning chemicals, is pleased to highlight one of the top sellers that consistently delivers impressive results: Surefoot EZ. Surefoot EZ is a next generation cleaner and degreaser that is specifically designed for restaurant flooring, espe- cially quarry tile floors. What makes this product stand out? Bioactive enzymes and a neutral pH for- mulation, which break down oils and food soils without having to use the harsh chemicals found in some other products. Surfactants specifically chosen for Surefoot EZ reduce slippage by eliminat- ing greases or oils that can pose safety hazards in a facility. Product squeegeed from the floor to the drain system contin- ues to work breaking down any soil and grease found by carrying the bioactive enzymes into the drain. For cleaner floors with better traction, satis- fied Intercon customers are already reaping the safety and savings benefits from using Surefoot EZ in their facilities. It even brightens grout lines the longer you use it. The product is odor- free, which means it will not interfere with any employee or customer sensitiv- ities in your facility. Surefoot EZ gives you peace of mind, both when it comes to reducing slip and fall acci- dents in the workplace, as well as reducing labor costs by switching to a no-rinse formula. Customers know they can rely on Intercon products, and Surefoot EZ sets its own standard of above and beyond results satisfaction. Ask your representative about this economical concentrated formula, which does not require rinsing for EZ floor maintenance. For more information, visit booth #849. ENVIROPURE MAKES ZERO FOOD WASTE EASY TO ACHIEVE T&S Brass and Bronze Works, manu- facturer and supplier of foodservice and plumbing equipment since 1947, acquired Chicago-based food waste elimination company EnviroPure Systems, Inc. in February of 2013. A leading-edge developer of alternative environmentally-friendly technologies for organic food waste disposal, the company was a great fit for T&S's goal of helping foodservice professionals continue to find more sustainable and cost-effective solutions for their kitchens. Upon acquisition, EnviroPure operations relocated to T&S's 24.5-acre headquarters in Travelers Rest, S.C., where company Founder Jim Slanina was free to focus on testing and fine- tuning the performance of his revolu- tionary product while T&S took over sales and marketing. Today, as universities, entertainment venues, hotels, grocery stores and restau- rants search for solutions in the face of growing municipal sanctions against enzymes and bacteria and statewide man- dates of zero food waste, EnviroPure is quickly becoming a familiar name across the United States, Canada and Europe. Here are a few of the reasons why: An EnviroPure system can save cus- tomers more than 50 percent in tradition- al operating costs while drastically mini- mizing negative impact on the environ- ment. EnviroPure offers complete, onsite food waste decomposition through a sys- tem that is completely customizable to space and staffing needs. EnviroPure turns organic food waste into a safe effluent with no enzymes, no bacteria, no batching, no sludge and no odors in 24 hours or less. EnviroPure systems process every kind of organic food waste, including vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, poultry, dairy products, bones, shells and pits, pineapple tops and coffee grounds. Most orders can be filled within four weeks; installation typically takes one day and 24/7 technical support is avail- able, as are financing/leasing programs. Custom-built to handle from 120 to 14,000+ pounds of food waste per day, EnviroPure systems use a proprietary mix of all-natural, non-toxic, biodegrad- able minerals and nutrients to accelerate decomposition. The process is ongoing, so no batching is required, and the sys- tem can be configured in a multitude of ways to accommodate space limitations or convenience. "This is truly one of the most amaz- ing products available on the market today," said EnviroPure National Sales Director Jona Thomas. "The effluent left over at the end of the decomposition process is so pure it surpasses many municipal standards. Compared to the cost and headaches of industrial com- posting, dehydrating, enzyme-based sys- tems or traditional tipping and hauling, EnviroPure is, by far, the most appealing solution for food waste." FIVE WAYS COLD PLASMA CLEAN TECHNOLOGY WILL CHANGE HAND DRYING Last year, American Dryer incorporated Cold Plasma Clean™ (CPC) technology into its cutting-edge eXtremeAir ® dryers. The company's experienced engineering team aimed to create the most hygienic hand drying method possible. By incor- porating the natural properties of cold plasma, this 21st century hand dryer offers unique benefits and does more than dry hands efficiently; it changes industry expectations for what hand dry- ers can do. Following are some of the most innovative aspects of CPC. 1. Naturally free of chemicals. CPC kills germs as it dries hands naturally, without chemicals. Cold plasma, or bipolar ion- ization, is nature's way of cleaning the air and killing germs. High levels of ioniza- tion are found throughout nature, espe- cially in environments such as mountain- tops and ocean beaches. The Cold Plasma Generator, available only inside American Dryer eXtremeAir CPC mod- els, uses steady-state positive and nega- tive discharge points to split water mole- cules in the air into oppositely charged hydrogen and oxygen ions. 2. Kills pathogens, reduces particles. HEPA filters, used by some dryer manu- facturers, may trap microbes, but do not eliminate them. Neither do the filters clean the air surrounding the hands, as CPC does. By incorporating warm-air CPC, American Dryer's latest models actually kill germs as they dry hands without the creation of harmful ozone. CPC technolo- gy is also proven to kill harmful and microscopic pathogens including E.Coli, C.Diff, Staph, MRSA and TB as well as eliminating dust, smoke and pollen parti- cles. Testing has been done independently by EMSL Labs, an Elite CDC certified lab. 3. Cost savings. With CPC technology, you can save up to 98 percent of paper towel costs and use just 2.5 watts of power to eliminate harmful germs. It's also a solid- state, maintenance-free solution without expensive filters, chemicals or labor. With the cost- and environmentally-conscious eXtremeAir CPC, restrooms can do away with empty paper towel holders, overflow- ing trash bins and towel-clogged toilets, too. 4. Compact, with adjustable sound and speed, plus universal voltage. Like all American Dryer hand dryers, eXtremeAir CPC has a compact design, which enhances its look and feel. The dryer also comes equipped with univer- sal voltage and adjustable sound and speed, so there's no need for pricey upgrades or add-ons. 5. Trusted industry uses. Proven cold plasma technology has been successfully used to sanitize the air in commercial buildings since the 1930s. The presti- gious Cleveland Clinic, Baylor College of Medicine and Boston Children's Hospital currently use it, and most recently, cold plasma has been used to treat surgical incisions and to kill bacteria in the food processing industry. The eXtremeAir CPC hand dryer has advanced this technology to kill the germs as you dry your hands. BS: We have OM 1 Series Power Degreaser, Multi-Surface Cleaner and Bath & Restroom Cleaner, with plans to formulate concentrated cleaners and other specialty products in the coming year. CN: With the green cleaning market already saturated, what makes OM 1 Series cleaners special? BS: First and most important, these don't act like typical green cleaners where you sacrifice performance for environmental profile. They clean, and they clean well. In fact, they have exceptional perform- ance. We had them tested in independent scrub tests against leading green com- mercial and retail brands in an independ- ent lab. The testing showed that OM 1 Series Power Degreaser cleaned up to three times faster than other brands, which means less time and labor, and more savings for facility cleaning providers. Second, OM 1 Series cleaners are pH neutral, making them safer for workers, especially those in the cleaning industry who have exposure to chemicals day after day. They're CARB and EPA com- pliant for low VOCs in regulated prod- ucts, so they're safely responsible for the environment. Finally, I love the unique scents we've matched with each individual product. Everyone says they smell fan- Nyco ( Cont'd. from p. 1) tastic. You'll have to stop by booth #1071 and smell for yourself. There's no ques- tion, hands down Nyco's three OM 1 Series products, powered by Omnia from Eastman, are the best cleaners with the safest environmental profile that we've ever manufactured. They're safe to use, they clean faster and they don't hurt the environment; it's a winning combination. CN: What are your show plans for OM 1 Series? BS: We're doing live demos of OM 1 at the show. We may be showing OM 1 's effectiveness on tough soils like greasy dirt, tar, soap scum or carbonized soils. We'll demo what's practical. We also have free samples available to distribu- tors and facility service providers on our website at www.om1series.com. CN: Are you exhibiting any other new products of note at ISSA/Interclean 2014? BS: We're also showing a new liquid chemical sterilant called YGIENE 206. It kills all microbial life on hard, nonporous surfaces in 20 minutes or less. It's very timely with Ebola virus and Entero virus D-68 in the news. YGIENE 206 is the fastest liquid sterilant on the market. Visit Nyco at booth #1071.
