E d Te c h S h o w D a i l y S u n d a y, J u n e 2 9 , 2 0 1 4 4 NEW REDIKER SOFTWARE: AN ALL-IN-ONE SOLUTION FOCUSED ON THE CLOUD The new Rediker Software has arrived, and it is filled with innovative cloud offerings for schools. Recently, the company released a major update to its student information system, Administrator's Plus, and with it came a new collection of cloud-based products for teachers, parents and students that create an all-in-one solution for schools. These products include TeacherPlus Gradebook, PlusPortals and Responsive Website Design. In the past, Rediker Software part- nered with third party companies for their gradebook and web portal. "The thought was, 'Why reinvent the wheel when there are already outstanding products on the market we can integrate with?'" stated Andrew Anderlonis, President of Rediker Software. "But as technology evolved, we saw the need for teachers to have cer- tain features and capabilities that weren't available in third party applications." Consequently, Rediker Software cre- ated its own web- based gradebook and school portals that met the demands of teach- ers, parents and students in today's environment. For TeacherPlus, the company worked with teacher focus groups to develop a tool that was intu- itive, user-friendly, and included key fea- tures such as an iPad app, integrated email and seamless connectivity with the PlusPortals and Administrator's Plus. Rediker Software utilized the latest HTML5 web technology to design PlusPortals, creating an exciting user SAM HOUSTON STATE'S ONLINE MASTER'S OF INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY The unique online Master's of Education in Instructional Technology program at Sam Houston State University is a com- bination of courses covering both cur- riculum and instruction and computer science. The 30 credit hour program is entirely online and designed to provide individuals with the skills to effectively use instructional technology for class- room or professional training. This mas- ter's degree promotes a strong, working knowledge of digital-age learning envi- ronments and utilizes a variety of meth- ods to provide the most beneficial online learning experience. Coursework exceeds the level of expectations regard- ing student interaction and usability, and consists of five online Curriculum and Instruction courses and five online Computer Science courses. This program focuses on developing exciting instructional technology skills that may be used with students (of all ages) including web design, instructional multimedia development, podcasting and webcasting while developing instruction- al technology leadership skills. Specifically, candidates are trained to: a) apply relevant educational theory, knowl- edge from research, and professional practice expertise as leaders in the field of instructional technology and b) utilize the habits of inquiry, reflection and pro- fessionalism that are essential compo- nents for leadership in all organizations. In the M.Ed. in IST program, Sam Houston State emphasizes the design, development, use, management and eval- uation of process and resources for learn- ing.
