Perry Alasti, CTO of Artisan Industries Inc., talks with Food Magic Daily about his company's approach to process solutions. FMD: Tell our readers a little about your company. What's your main line of business? PA: We are a Technology and Process Solutions Company. We develop, design and build complete process systems for difficult separations in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. At this conference we highlight our vast experience in thermal separations of foods and nutraceutical products. We have experience in dehydration of fruits, deodorization of essential oils and oleochemicals, drying strategies for food and flavors, proprietary aroma/essence recovery, concentrat- ing beverages and extracts and purifying natural flavors. FMD: Tell our readers about your company. What's your main line of business? SS: Continental Carbonic specializes in the manufacture and distribu- tion of dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) along with the sale and rental of dry ice blasting equipment. We service customers throughout the eastern two-thirds of the United States and Ontario, Canada through our strategic network of dry ice manu- facturing and distribution facilities. FMD: What products are you showcasing at this year's IFT show? SS: Dry ice and dry ice blasting equipment are going to be showcased at the IFT Columbus Vegetable Oils has been packaging fats, oils and shorten- ings for more than 80 years.
