Teaching alternative education was really my calling. I loved it. When digital learning began creeping into education, I immediately saw the advantages, as well as the short- comings of what was out there for technology. The Standards require students to demonstrate a "depth of knowledge" that goes beyond superfi- cial understanding and memorization of material to deep application of knowl- edge and demonstration of problem-solv- ing and high-order skills. Digital educa- tion plays a significant role in how the Standards are being implemented and met in classrooms across the country.
