Customer service, above and beyond, is the main goal of our entire staff. You will never get an answering system when you IS YOUR BACK DOOR PROTECTED? Detex introduces a maximum security, multi-point lock so big and strong that it stands up to assault by the bad guys and reduces employee and customer theft. The ECL-230X-TDB is a heavyduty, easy-to-install three-bolt multipoint lock that's constructed to take panic hardware to a whole new level of toughness and eases your back-door security worries. It is designed with a larger deadbolt that goes deeper into the frame than other locks in the category. Connecting rods are solid steel, rather than the less reliable hollow rod/cable construction. Life safety and code compliant, the new Detex ECL-230X-TDB serves as both panic hardware and a maximum-strength locking device. The ECL-230X-TDB includes a photo-luminescent sign available in more than 10 color and language combinations, a 100 decibel alarm and three lockViking Electronics (Cont'd. from p. 1) change the settings. The four digital inputs can be configured to send an email or SMS based on a status change (now open, now closed, or both, with customizable status phrases and de-bounce) to allow remote monitoring without having to have timed polling requests constantly running. New firmware (free to download and remotely updateable) even allows for two units to be programmed to interact at two different remote Security-Net (Cont'd. from p. 1) disadvantage, in that their clients want the quality of a locally owned and operated business, but are also seeking the breadth of a national organization," said Joseph Liguori, President of Security-Net and President of Access Control Technologies in Clifton, N.J. Via Security-Net, a company whose client wants coverage not only where the integrator is based, but also in other cities nationwide, can get that because of Security-Net's network. The company that gets the contract is the point person in charge of the installation, but then works with other Security-Net companies to carry out the project in other locales, just as a national operator would. For his business, J. Matthew Ladd, President of the Protection Bureau in Exton, Pa., says the value of being part ing points per door. The top deadbolt is approximately 1inch wide by ½-inch thick and provides additional stability to the top corner of the door. The side deadbolt is 2 ¼-inches tall by ½-inch thick with a 1-inch throw that allows for ¾-inch penetration into the strike. Detex recommends flush installation for maximum security. With 1.6875 square inches of bolt engagement, the side deadbolt provides superior defense against pulling and prying on the side of the door. The bottom bolt is a 5/8-inch HEX bolt with a ¾-inch throw, and engages the floor with 5/8-inch penetration that provides better attack resistance and superior defense against the "peeling up" of the bottom of the door. Together, the three bolts withstand 10,000 lbs. of pull force. installations, an input change at one controlling a relay at the other, or any other programmable interaction. The relays can be set on or off, toggled, or the user can initiate a timed closure from 1-99 seconds in duration. They are 5A @ 30VDC rated relays with both NO and NC contacts available at the screw terminals, allowing an installation to be designed to fail safe if power is lost. Two levels of access are provided: administrator and user. The administrator can take any action desired, including of Security-Net is that the organization serves as a fulfillment channel for national accounts. As a group, SecurityNet has worked on national projects for Sallie-Mae, healthcare company WellPoint and pet food manufacturer American Nutrition. "We can get quality integrators for our projects," Ladd said. "We are working with the best of the region, not just a branch office." With some national companies, one branch may not even know their counterpart in another part of the country. The Protection Bureau does business in as many as 30 states, so being part of Security-Net allows Ladd and his company to service clients nationwide with people he knows well. Over time, Security-Net has formalized the process of working together, going from a handshake business to an OCG Security Daily call our office; you will always get a live, knowledgeable person. Because we keep most parts in stock, we are able to ship out many orders the very same day they are ordered. Have an application that requires a non-standard part or has presented a unique problem? No problem; unlike most companies, LDI can design and manufacture custom parts and provide the correct solution. After being in the industry for more than 30 years, we have established a culture and knowledge base that is second to none. Add suffix DX3 (ECL-230X-TDBDX3) for six locking points for even stronger security. Single- and double-bolt and weatherized models are also available. Optional accessories include hinge side locking bolts and inside pull handle. Combining the ECL-230X-TDB with Detex's DX Bolts provides an additional line of defense against break-ins via additional locking points. Even if the exterior door hinges are compromised the DX bolts keep the door locked and secure. These passive deadbolts are easy to install and offer another layer of attack resistance. Other 230X models include ECL230X (dead bolt only), ECL-230X-W (weatherized dead bolt), ECL-230X-TB (top and bottom bolt), ECL-230X-W-TB (weatherized top and bottom bolt), ECL230X-TD (top and dead bolt), ECL230X-W-TD (weatherized top and dead bolt), and ECL-230X-W-TDB (weatherized top bolt, dead bolt and bottom bolt). Almost all hardware and accessories can be customized with different finish- setting relay positions, naming the inputs and outputs, and programming the device settings for network and email communication. They can also set the amount of access that the standard user login has. The user can only do what the administrator has set to be accessible, seeing only certain input and relay statuses, or only triggering a timed relay closure, to prevent controlled equipment from being damaged or changed by unauthorized personnel. Communication with the device is protected by Digest Access organization with set "rules of engagement," such as how to price jobs and how to respond to a partner request. "That has made a major difference," said Ladd. "And it has strengthened Security-Net's goal of working with a common purpose." Additionally, by forming a group, members of Security-Net have improved their purchasing power, according to Liguori. With a combined worth of about $400 million, Security-Net can go to manufacturers and make deals just as the largest integrators will do. "We have the same advantage as the big companies," Liguori added. By combining their buying power and representing Security-Net as one of the group, members are able to have a closer relationship with manufacturers and deal with those higher up within the organization. As Security-Net moves forward, one of its major goals is to present itself not as 23 individual companies, but rather as a single entity. The group has come together through the development of project management software that is currently in beta testing. The web-based software will make it easier to ensure consistency as members head up different projects that involve member companies. In addition, the group has invested in improving Security-Net's understanding of the security/IT link and brought more educational content to members. "We are bringing 23 talented businesses into one functional organization," Liguori concluded. For more information, visit booth 929 at ASIS or go online to www .security-net.com.
