The FABI Awards, presented by the National Restaurant Association, celebrate the most creative, marketable and tasty food- service products. Grecian Delights of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, earned two awards: one for its falafel fritters, and one for its labna-based garlic sauce. The fritters can be fried or baked and are suitable for service at break- fast, lunch, dinner and for snacks, and are currently available at Whole Foods, Sprouts and other retailers. They are clean- label, vegan and kosher. The garlic sauce, based on a traditional sauce for shawarma, is thick and heady with raw garlic, with a 180-day shelf life.
