Mangosteen is a sweet and exotic tasting fruit that comes from South East Asia. Mangosteen trees can take up to 15 years to grow and sometimes bear fruit every two years. Bali Juice has three unique fla- vors which consist of one hundred percent Pure Mangosteen; a mix of Pure Mangosteen with Pure Pomegranate; and Pure Mangosteen with a mix of Pure Green Tea. Mangosteen has been consumed for centuries and used typically for the belief in the health and healing benefits. Over the past decade, it has been sold in the US as a health supplement for up to $40 a bottle. Bali's products are to be en- joyed by those of all ages as they offer a delicious and easy to drink product that comes in a glass bottle and sold at an afford- able price. Bali juice is free from preservatives, gluten free and vegan friendly. Bali was founded by Edward Farley, who grew up feeding mangosteen fruit to Western Lowland Gorillas in the Democ- ratic Republic of Congo and Gabon. He still has a passion for wildlife conservation and Bali will continue to support programs that reintroduce goril- las into the wild. Bali strives to create products that are as pure as they are potent, and are the first to bring mangosteen into the U.S. For more information, visit www.bali-juice.com. n Specialty Food Association Announces 2018 Hall of Fame Inductees The Specialty Food Association is proud to recognize and honor industry leaders through the SFA Hall of Fame. The investment is the latest in a period of increasing momentum for Ample Foods, which was founded after its CEO, Connor Young, was asked to help his busy, entrepreneurial friends take the guesswork out of healthy eating while working long, start-up hours. Ample Foods expanded its line in January and now offers three varieties: Ample original, Ample V (plant-based) and Ample K (ketogenic). The company's meals make quality nutrition convenient for people across a range of food lifestyles and are thoughtfully formulated from research- backed ingredients including protein from grass-fed, rBST-free whey and collagen, probiotics, healthy fats and plant-based micronutrients. Since launch, Ample ex- panded from its original formula to in- clude Ample V for plant-based diets and Ample K, a complete drinkable meal packed with recognizable, real-food ingre- dients custom-crafted for the $5.07 bil- lion ketogenic food market. Ample began its journey with the top- funded nutrition Indiegogo of all time and has since earned angel investments from 500 Startups, Hawkshead Capital and Compound. In 2017, it signed Mark Di- vine, creator of SEALFIT and Unbeatable Mind, and Chris Masterjohn, PhD, a lead- ing nutrition expert and researcher, to ad- visory roles. The latest investment from Slow brings Ample's total funding to $4 million. "We're excited to be part of Ample's mission to help people take control of their nutrition in a convenient way across a range of food lifestyles," said Scott Mar- lette, partner, Slow Ventures. "Ample is leading the industry with a level of quality, honesty and convenience that is in line with where nutrition will go in the next 20 years." "It's been deeply rewarding to hear the stories of people whose lives have im- proved with access to a healthy, conven- ient meal option," said Young. "Slow Ventures is a perfect partner for Ample, because we both believe this business about more than just a product, it's about providing a foundation for a healthier life." n
