Kitchenware News & Housewares Review Show Daily 8 5 Monday, March 12, 2018 Fahrenheit. The lead artisan will heat the end of the blowpipe and dip it into a pot of molten glass. The molten glass stays on the end of the blowpipe, like how honey acts on the end of a spoon. The glass is then rolled on a flat surface, where the artisan begins to shape the glass while also cooling the outside. While the inside is still very hot, the arti- san will blow into the tube, creating a bubble on the inside. Then, depending on the desired shape, the glass can go through a variety of steps before it is fin- ished. Some steps range from being placed into layers of water-soaked news- paper, held in the artisan's bare hand to shape the piece. Other techniques include using tweezer or shears to create cuts like you would see at the lip of a pitcher. A variety of techniques can be used to add color, such as rolling the glass through colorful powder or tiny pebble like pieces of a frit arranged in a pattern. Because each piece is handmade, slight variations in size and shape can occur, thus making every piece unique, with the artisan's "signature" on each glass. Each glass is 100 percent lead free Amici Home (Cont'd. from p. 1) and dishwasher safe. "I wanted to help more consumers discover all the therapeutic benefits of aromatherapy that I found in my prac- tices, and I found I can do that by making essential oils more affordable and acces- sible to the people who need it most, the everyday person. I have already been successful in my business in the past, and so, this time around, I wanted to build a social entrepreneurship to give back to the society that helped me, and so I built a global alliance of farmers and got more women involved. And a lot of these women were abused or neglected, so giv- ing them a job and a purpose has since empowered many of these women to seek independence from abusive rela- tionships and partnerships. There was never a compromise on the quality of the ingredients, so whatever I provide to the consumers are the purest oils in the GuruNanda (Cont'd. from p. 1) world," says Nanda, a certified yoga instructor, who set out on a six-continent journey to establish a global alliance of responsible farms and growers so you can benefit from 100 percent pure and natural essential oils right at home. The next challenge for Nanda was to provide a way for consumers to enjoy the therapeutic qualities of his oils, and so he brought a cutting-edge ultrasonic tech- nology to essential oil diffusers to pre- vent oils from heating and losing their therapeutic value. "That is the key to aro- matherapy," says Nanda. "Together with GuruNanda's pure essential oils, the aro- matherapy diffusers we offer can trans- form any room of the house into a spa- like haven, but now with the aroma of a thousand lavenders or jasmines. All GuruNanda products are available online at www.gurunanda.com and in select retail stores.
