Kitchenware News & Housewares Review Show Daily 6 3 Monday, March 12, 2018 Daisy Reveals Her Dirty Little Family Secret Don Seidel, National Sales Manager for AstroTurf ® Doormats, talks openly about the heir to the famous doormat that car- ries her name and talks about her dirty little secret of success. KNSD: What made you want to reveal your company secret now? DS: Thanks for offering me the opportu- nity to set the record straight. Ever since we launched our Daisy Doormat Facebook page, we been inundated with questions about dirt. As you probably know, Daisy is the daughter of the creator of the original AstroTurf scraper doormat during the 1960s. She's a great representative for our brand. She's got three kids, two dogs and a husband – none of whom have yet to master the art of picking up after oneself. Like many moms, she struggles to bal- ance the joys of kids, work, family, self, life. And home is her sanctuary. KNSD: What makes her life so different? DS: Simply stated…dirt! She cleans. And organizes. And strategizes. And pri- oritizes and manages and cleans some more. Generally, Daisy just tries to stay just a couple steps ahead of everyone in the household – and their stuff. She says she realizes now that was the life of her mother. How to keep the dirt out of the house in the first place! KNSD: What did her mom do about it in her day? DS: Now the story gets better. Daisy's mom worked with our fabulous company to help develop a new generation of a cleaning doormats. Her mom helped develop the doormat known today as the Clean Machine ® , still made with the same original AstroTurf. At GrassWorx, we've known for many years an estimated 80 percent of dirt in the home enters through the door. Our patented blade design will scrape, hold and hide 2-3 pounds of dirt per aver- age size doormat. KNSD: That's over 150 pounds of dirt per year per door. With four doors, that's over 500 pounds. Why would anyone want to keep that fact secret? DS: Well if you didn't know it before, you do now! We want every homeowner (and retailer) to benefit from our family secret…knowing how to keep the dirt "out" and keep homes cleaner, cozier and healthier. Drop by the Clean Machine booth #N6557 and they can share my secret with you. I'm also proud of the fact we are still a "USA" manufacturing compa- ny. Breakfast with Fusionbrands, a Trio of Egg-Citing Tools Start the day smiling with Fusionbrands ® latest cooking tools. Add a burst of sun- shine yellow to your kitchen and say good morning to a fun and colorful breakfast trio: ButterEasy, EggXactPeel and EggXactRing. Getting your griddle ready for eggs, pancakes or grilled sandwiches just got easier with the new ButterEasy. Put down the knife and grab a ButterEasy to quickly and easily spread butter. Use on pans, skillets and baking dishes to keep foods from sticking. It also keeps your fingers clean and protected from hot sur- faces; you can even use it on warm foods like toast, bagels and corn. ButterEasy eliminates the need to dirty a knife to cut butter for prepping pans. No more scratching pans with the knife to spread it around or wasting butter by chopping off way too much. The three- piece design allows you to store butter in multiple ways. The body is made of flexible silicone to roll-up or down as needed and two different caps are included to give you storage options. Grab a ButterEasy and paint the pan with butter! It's simple…if you eat eggs, you need an EggXactPeel. Whether you boil eggs or crack eggs for cooking and bak- ing, you'll want this ingenious tool to make a clean break in the shell. With the new EggXactPeel peeling boiled eggs is as easy as 1, 2, 3. If you're peeling one boiled egg or a dozen at time, this handy little tool will have you mastering a quick and easy egg shell removal tech- nique…Crack, Peel and Remove. It's CPR for eggs! With the EggXactPeel you can rid yourself of the frustrating task of removing annoying tiny shell frag- ments piece by piece and tearing apart the boiled egg. With two special function ends you can make the per- fect crack with the plastic "blade" end, then switch to the peeler end to help remove the stub- born shell. The custom curve allows a slim fit under the membrane to easily release the entire eggshell. You can even use the blade end of the EggXactPeel to crack raw eggs to avoid getting messy unsanitary drips of egg down the side of your bowls and countertops; all it takes is a quick snap of the wrist. EggXactPeel is exactly the egg tool you've been waiting for. Now that you have an easy way to butter your pan and crack your eggs, bring on the EggXactRing to complete your meal. Making a delicious egg sand- wich perfectly sized to sit on top of a toasted English muffin is made easy with the EggXactRing. It's a fully adjustable silicone food ring to make perfectly sized eggs, pancakes or stacked food presenta- tions. The EggXactRing is nonstick and can be used on the stovetop, in the oven and microwave. It adjusts from 1.5 inches to 4 inches in diameter to bake, mold and present. Make egg sandwiches that are extra thick and perfectly fit the bread size, pancakes that are evenly sized to stack, or layer thinly sliced fruit or veg- etables to build an edible piece of art. EggXactRing makes it easy to find the perfect fit. Visit Fusionbrands Discover Design booth #N8307 to see all the new 2018 products.
