Kitchenware News & Housewares Review Show Daily Monday, March 12, 2018 6 Spot-Not Glass Cleaner & Polisher We all have those glasses that are hard to clean, especially champagne flutes or glasses that are so thin the bowls break easily when you accidentally apply too much pressure with the towel. Spot-Not is here to make the job easier and safer. With its long flex- ible fingers supporting its dedicated drying pad, you can quickly and easily dry and polish the inside of any glass. Its flexibility allows you to use just the right amount of pressure which is spread evenly on a large section of the bowl, helping to reduce accidental breakage during drying. After use, the drying pad can be machine washed and dried. Spot-Not is a great gift for any wine lover you know. Spot-Not comes in retail-friendly packaging and master packs of 12 so it is really easy to buy. Spot-Not is a product of the Wine Lovers group, a consortium of profes- sional-grade wine accessories includ- ing wine preservers, stemware, wine aroma training kits and CorkOut, an amazing tool that eas- ily removes broken corks from wine bottles. Selling Your Customer on the Need for Home Safes By Allen Forkner, Senior Public Relations Counsel Talking about negatives such as theft or fires can be a hard conversation with con- sumers. But the need for people to consid- er safeguarding their belongings has never been more important. So, how do you talk to your customers about the need for a home safe or secure storage solution? For starters, Jesse Bugarin of Alpha Guardian recommends avoiding fear as a sales tactic. While it may work with some, it alienates a larger percentage. "In general, if a customer is being driven to purchase by fear, they've already made the decision to buy," Bugarin said. "From there, the sales staff just needs to direct him or her to an appropriate product." "For other consumers, it's best to sell something bigger than the safe: peace of mind. With a safe or security cabinet," Bugarin said, "customers can find com- fort in knowing their valuables are secured and organized, where they can be easily found if need be, but also protected from theft, loss or damage." "All too often, people think of safes as ways of securing financially valuable items, such as money, jewelry or bonds," Bugarin said. "But in truth, safes can pro- tect anything that your customer may see as valued. For example, I value my identity so I keep my passport and other financial docu- ments in there. But, I also value my family, so my grandmom's photo albums and my kids' homemade cards are also in there." In the end, it's about conveying to your customer that everyone has some- thing they value, even if that item has no monetary value. Another avenue you can take with customers is to focus on their technology. "As we become more and more tech- dependent, our smartphones, tablets and laptops contain more and more valuable information," Bugarin said. "Just think about how much person- al information, family photos, passwords and other data is stored on your tablet. These items are also some of the most commonly stolen items in a burglary, so it just makes sense to secure them." With Cannon Safe and Stack-On's wide line of home safe and secure storage devices, there's a solution to fit almost any consumer's lifestyle. Dexas Expands MIXX Collection of Mixed Material Cutting & Serving Boards Dexas International Ltd. continues to lead in poly cutting board designs, with authentic marble and granite looks, as well as mixed material cutting boards. Dexas continues to expand its booth pres- ence at the 2018 International Home + Housewares Show. The company is exhibiting in both the 100 and 200 aisles in the South Hall of McCormick Place, booths #S138 and #S238. Dexas is pleased to announce new additions to MIXX™ – a collection of mixed material cutting boards that per- form as both food-safe prep surfaces as well as elegant serving and presentation pieces. The newly released MIXX Duo is actually three cutting boards – an earth- friendly bamboo serving board with two specially shaped wells that hold poly cut- ting board inserts. The two inserts are the new Dexas PolyMarble™ design and look just like white marble slabs. Unlike real marble, PolyMarble is gentle on kitchen knives and can go right into the dishwasher after use. The bamboo pro- vides a warm natural frame, while the edges are beveled so the entire board is elevated and easy to pick up. MIXX Duo is ideal for the presentation of hors d'oeu- vres or cheese selections. Retail $29.99. "Dexas is the one-stop shop for cut- ting boards – whether it be patented designs in poly, wood or both," said Jeff Logan, Director of Marketing. "We are also actively sourcing numerous exotic woods for our customers." Dexas is launching a home chefs' prep board called simply MIXX Mise en Place. Everything is truly in its place when you combine the warmth of natural bamboo with the precision of stainless steel prep bowls. The Dexas Mise en Place Prep Board is a thick bamboo cutting board with three or four precisely milled stainless steel bowls to hold freshly cut ingredients. The 1-cup bowls are flush with the board's surface for easy filling, while also being easy to lift out while cooking. Mise en Place also fea- tures non-slip silicone feet, an ample juice well and even cut-out openings on each side for easy movements to the cooktop. Retail $39.99. Dexas is also exhibiting a new two- sided, reversible cutting board that fea- tures a bright white side and a dark side with Dexas' original midnight granite look. The new Dexas PolyDuo cutting board provides easy color-coding to avoid cross contamination. One side is perfect for chopping and preparing fruits and vegetables, while the other side could be exclu- sive to meats and seafood. A full wraparound grip edge prevents the board from slipping, while a pol- ished juice well on both sides keeps counters clean. PolyDuo is BPA-free, gen- tle on knives and made in the USA. Retails are $12.99 and $15.99. And don't forget to see FlexLid, a universal pot lid and food cover that recently won the 2018 "Best in Class" Gourmet Gold Award from Dallas Market Center. Founded in 1969, Dexas is the design leader and largest in-house manu- facturer of poly cutting boards in the USA. See Dexas at booths #S138 and #S238. What Makes Espro's Press the 'King of the French Press' "The Espro French press is frequently used at the Everest Base Camp, and climbers swear by it. Their two filters eliminate the grit and vacuum insulated double walls will keep your coffee warm for hours," says John Scarpinato from Travel + Leisure. The Espro Press is designed to take your carefully crafted preferences – the bean and roast, the leaf – and marry them with a perfected environment for brew- ing. What makes Espro's French Press a game changer? Well, there are two fac- tors to that. First, Espro's patented dou- ble micro-filters give you the distinct, rich flavor you expect, without all the mess associated with a traditional press. Second, the design of the press and filters prevents over-extracted coffee or tea from entering your beverage once the plunger is pushed down. Not only do the presses simply 'Make it Better,' but they do this with three options to suit all coffee and tea fanatics preferences: 1. For French-press coffee lovers, the Espro Press accomplishes what was previously impossible: deep and rich fla- vor, with all the aromatic oils, yet with- out any grit in their cup. 2. Pour-over coffee lovers get ultra- clean, oil-free coffee simply by adding the optional paper filters. 3. Tea lovers get perfect extrac- tion that stops pre- cisely, and can easi- ly be re-steeped multiple times with- out a mess. Espro calls its P7 a "Knight in Shining Armor" for an array of reasons. Under the hood, you'll find Espro's patented double micro-filter, for the cleanest cup you can get. The two patent- pending filters are 9-12 times finer than a common French Press. They get beneath the grinds and filter twice, leaving all the flavor and none of the grit. It's so much more advanced than any other press on the market that many customers say it's the last coffee maker they'll ever buy. The Espro P7 offers the luxury of keeping its contents hot for hours thanks to its stainless steel carafe. Two vacuum insulated stainless walls keep your coffee hot, and the outside wall cool. Brew now, and serve later! With no glass to break, it might be the last press you buy. Lastly, the P7 can be the statement piece of any tabletop. The mirror stain- less steel surface reflects the environ- ment around it, making it the perfect addition to any home or restaurant. Espro is hosting all-day tastings in Discover Design, booths #N8323 and #N8423. For more information, visit www.espro.ca, email sales@espro.ca, call 844.377.7622 or stop by booths #N8323 and #N8423.
