Wireless World 2 1 Tuesday, September 12, 2017 Full HD Monitoring Solution with Observer HD For consumers who are not tech savvy, but would like an easy-to-use, intuitive security solution around the house, look no further than the full high-definition monitoring solution, the Observer HD. Plug and Play There is absolutely no installation required for this system. Simply plug in the power for the 7-inch touchscreen monitor and the cameras, and the video will automatically pop onto the screen. Recording will initiate automatically once the camera senses motion. The sys- tem will be able to support up to four cameras. Full HD Resolution with Passive Infrared Sensors The weatherproof, metallic cameras are equipped with full high-definition sen- sors, allowing a clear and crisp video feed for both day and night. The cameras also come with passive infrared sensors, which give a more accurate reading to sensing motion in front of the camera. Internet Ready: Notifications and Remote Access via Phone or Tablet Users will be able to view live feeds and recordings via a free app from Google Play and iTunes. When notifica- tions are turned on and the camera detects move- ment, it will automatically notify the user by sending a notification to a phone or tablet. Secure 2.4 Ghz Frequency Hopping Technology ALC utilizes proprietary 2.4 Ghz fre- quency hopping technology to ensure video transmis- sions cannot be intercepted or hacked, as well as boost- ing the range up to 500 feet between the camera and monitor. Local Storage via SD or Hard Drive There are two types of stor- age mediums for this system – the moni- tor will be able to record files onto an SD card (up to 128 GB) or a USB external hard drive (up to 2 TB). Giraffic AVA Unlocks Seamless Virtual Reality Streaming for Apps and Mobile Devices Giraffic, the leader in Adaptive Video Acceleration (AVA) technologies for consumer electronics device manufactur- ers and content service providers, announced an extension of its AVA tech- nology that vastly improves the quality and stability of streaming virtual reality (VR) content. This tailored acceleration enhances VR streams, even over less than ideal Wi-Fi or cellular connections, allowing manufacturers and immersive content service providers and developers to provide flawless high-quality, unteth- ered VR experiences, in addition to Giraffic AVA video-on-demand (VOD) and live-streaming offerings. Giraffic AVA is a software solution that empowers content service providers, streaming platforms developers and CE device manufacturers to overcome unsta- ble cellular connections, Wi-Fi and net- work congestion challenges. The technol- ogy improves network throughput and adaptive bitrate (ABR) playback for video streaming requests up to 200 percent and reduces buffering pauses by up to 80 per- cent, to enable higher quality uninterrupt- ed viewing experience without network or server-side integration. The updated AVA offers customized multi-streaming capa- bilities to support VR and 360 degree video and can work across split streams for each angle of a video. In addition, AVA customizes the number of streams open during the acceleration process to opti- mize consumer experience. "VR revenues are expected grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 73 percent over the next five years, however, in order to achieve this VR must provide users with a quality experi- ence," says Michael Goodman, Director Digital Media at Strategy Analytics. "Video is a bandwidth hog in the best of circumstances, VR video is a several magnitudes worse. VR video that has banding, artifacts, starts and stops, or worst of all, induces motion sickness as a result of the compression necessary to deliver it will quickly turn off VR users." The immersive video of virtual real- ity content generates three to 10 times higher bitrates, which is nearly impossi- ble to stream on unreliable and inconsis- tent cellular or WiFi networks. By improving the resolution of content up to 200 percent over existing network con- nections and offering a 300 percent longer viewing period at the highest qual- ity, Giraffic AVA provides the best possi- bility to watch immersive VR content from start to finish. "In addition to smartphone-powered VR, we're starting to see the industry shift towards wireless standalone head- sets on the high-end devices," says Yoel Zanger, Chief Executive Officer of Giraffic. "To view VR the way it's intended, the experience must be uninter- rupted, untethered and incredibly high resolution like UHD 4K content offers. With the VR extension of our AVA solu- tion, we bridge this gap between the immersive app providers and the con- sumer's devices worldwide." AVA is available to content develop- ers through a simple SDK integration, and for consumer electronics manufac- turers with device-side integration. About Giraffic Giraffic is the inventor of Adaptive Video Acceleration (AVA) – a patented client-side video experience technology that complements the existing video delivery ecosystem. AVA network throughput optimization and video play- back shaping technology enables con- sumer electronic devices and content providers' apps to deliver high defini- tion video, 4K and VR, without re- buffering pauses or streaming resolution reduction. With 10s of millions of devices in over 150 countries, Giraffic ground breaking AVA technology has become the de-facto standard on Smart TVs – in one of three Smart TVs that were shipped in 2015, and validated and adopted by the world's leading manu- facturers, such as LG and Samsung. Giraffic technology is now making ways into mobile devices, VR and apps, and is available in the next generation of CE devices, including Smart TVs, set-top- boxes, tablets and smartphones, as well as an SDK that is interoperable with content providers' apps. Giraffic was featured in Deloitte's 2016 Technology Fast 50, a list of the fastest growing technology companies in Israel, as one of the Top 10 Rising Stars.
