FOUR TRUSTED BRANDS, ONE QUALITY SOLUTION PACKAGE Taprite, DSI and Schroeder America Managing Director David Lease intro- duces Aalberts Industries and Aalberts Dispense Technologies. RDN: Who is Aalberts Industries and what impact can we expect it to have on the restaurant industry? DL: Aalberts Industries is a Netherlands- based technology company first founded in 1975. We have acquired over 57 com- panies with four being in the dispense category. We supply and service all lead- ing customers in the beverage industry with established brands Taprite, DSI and Schroeder America, plus recently acquired Vin Service. We bring together leading technologies in select markets to achieve the highest value for our cus- tomers. RDN: What products and services will you provide? DL: Taprite is the preferred supplier of soft drink and beer equipment acces- sories and parts for over 75 years. Its products range from CO 2 /N 2 regulators, BIB racks, draft taps/towers/pumps/cou- plers, ice bins, accessories and more. DSI (Dispense Systems International) is a consolidated company in Germany with more than 100 years of experience in the industry. Its products include various types of extractor tubes, dispense heads, pressure regulators and beer taps. Jud Schroeder founded Schroeder America in 2006 as a vertically integrated manufac- turer of beverage dispensers. Its products range from bar guns, non-carbonated post-mix dispensers, chillers, ice cooled dispensers, accessories and more. Coming together as Aalberts Dispense Technologies means all these leading products, services and technologies cre- ate a stronger portfolio with continued growth in the future. Vin Service, a family business started by Riccardo Guadalupi and his wife Daniela Gennaro Guadalupi in 1976, will add a variety of stylish and innovative line of draft and beverage towers as well as water/glycol chillers and faucets. RDN: What does partnering these com- panies mean for the restaurant industry? DL: The product lines of Vin Service are complementary to our existing dispens- ing technologies at Taprite, DSI and Schroeder America. By combining the four portfolios, utilizing our strong brands, sales and distribution channels, we are able to offer an even more com- plete dispensing system to our global customers. We also see many possibili- ties to improve our supply chain, opti- mize our manufacturing and strengthen our R&D developments. Aalberts Industries has invested over two million Euros into automated manufacturing equipment at DSI, because of its long-term vision to further develop the beverage dispense business. DSI, through suc- cessful renovation of certifi- cates ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, is now compliant with market and environmental requirements. RDN: What does Aalberts Industries look to achieve with these four compa- nies in its dispense category? DL: The vision is to have a fully inte- grated ordering service of complementa- ry parts between all companies. For example, Vin Service stylish towers and efficient chillers and Taprite's accompa- nying regulator and BIB rack would be available for order in one convenient package. We move forward, together, with the customer in mind. Four trusted brands, one quality solution package. A LEADING SUPPLIER OF LABEL AND TAG PRODUCTS California Label Products Inc. began operations in 1998 as a joint venture between 25-year apparel industry veteran Gary Garfield and West Coast packaging supply leader California Supply Inc., which was founded in 1970. Combining Garfield's knowledge of labels with California Supply's longstanding posi- tion in the packaging supply industry, California Label Products (CLP) quickly became a leading supplier of label and tag products. CLP offers many items that allow hardline manufacturers to communi- cate branding and product information, including full color stickers, hangtags and backer cards. It has an in-house art and design team that excels in brand image creativity and finding cost- effective solutions for every budget. Its entire production team is dedicated to product quality and color manage- ment. It supplies in-plant printing systems, including one- color thermal from Zebra, Datamax and Printronix as well as full-color, high-speed inkjet printing systems. The Afinia L-801 inkjet printer has an 8.5- inch print width, photo-quality 1600 DPI resolution, and can print at 60 feet/min. Its high-capacity ink tanks hold 1.25 liters of total ink for large runs while its easy access doors provide for fast, simple media and ink replacement. For even more in-plant capability, the Afinia DLP- 2000 takes the L-801's outstanding print- ing power and adds both die cutting and laminating stations. The RotoMetrics cylinder accepts flexible dies up to 12 inches in length, allowing for fast, accu- rate die cutting of any shape. Both of these mod- els allow manufacturers of all types to produce high- quality, full color product labels on demand, all without paying for a single plate. It also specializes in items for soft- line manufacturers, such as printed fabric labels, woven labels and heat transfer labels. Regarding natural products, CLP's eco-friendly or "green" initiatives include offering natural-fiber-based label and tag materials such as cotton, hemp, recycled papers and polyesters, and last- ly, both soy- and water-based inks.
