DK Brands U.S. customercare@dkbrands.us www.dkbhouseholdltd.com When it comes to grating and zesting, not much has changed in decades, until now. Lifetime Brands Inc. and Williams Sonoma have partnered to introduce a new grater and zester blade technology called West Blade™. The patented technology features tineless blades that allow users to grate in both directions, which also makes it easier to move soft and hard foods over the surface with minimal effort, helping to reduce time spent on food preparation. West Blade is available exclusively at Williams Sonoma. The West Blade Rotary Grater shreds soft foods like mozzerella cheese and hard-boiled eggs, in addition to to making quick work of hard cheeses and chocolate. It comes with two interchangeable grating barrels: a West Blade Coarse Shredder blade for soft cheese and a West Blade Medium Flake Blade for shaving hard cheese or making chocolate curls. The gearing system operates with a smooth, easy-turning motion for fast and easy grating with maximum output. It retails for $49.95. The West Blade Zester helps to create fragrant, flavorful zest from the surface of the citrus peels, without the bitter pith. It also works for grating ginger, hard cheese and chocolate. The zester features ultra-sharp, stainless-steel etched blades, and a soft-touch, nonslip handle helps provide a comfortable grip. A protective cover also comes with the grater for safe storage. It retails for $19.95. The West Blade Small Flake Hand Grater and Large Flake Hand Grater feature bi-direction grating surfaces and also features ultra-sharp, stainless-steel etched blades. Food practically glides over the blades, perfect for rapidly shaving hard cheese and creating delicate flakes of chocolate. Soft-touch, nonslip handles provide a comfy grip and each grater comes with a food pusher and hand guard piece for safety and a blade cover. Each retails for $19.95. The West Blade Box Grater features four total grating surfaces: three with West Blade technology — the Small Flake, Large Flake and Coarse — and one traditional coarse grater blade. This multi- use tool offers ultra-sharp stainless-steel tetched blades and quickly shaves just about any hard cheeses or vegetables. Like the others, it features a soft-touch handle. It also comes with a nonslip base to keep the grater in place and prevent interrupted work. This model has a suggested retail price of $49.95. For more information, visit www.LifetimeBrands.com. KN West Blade Technology for Grating, Zesting At an early age, Karen Rzepecki began a lifetime fascination with the Mason jar. "I've always used them. I guess my starting point was catching fireflies during the summer as a kid. I'd poke holes in the lid and always had a favorite jar." These days, Karen is still catching fireflies in Mason jars, but with a twist and not by herself. Karen is the creator behind recap® Kids EXPLORE, a magnifying, glowing Mason jar lid with breathe holes, which was recently named CreativeChild Magazine's Product of the Year in the Educational Science Products category. EXPLORE isn't Karen's first Mason jar innovation. In 2012, this problem- solving mom turned inventor left a 30 year career with a Fortune 100 company to bring her ideas, and Mason jar passion, to life. While shaking up homemade dressing, the idea came to her. "I seriously looked for a Mason jar lid that would let me shake, pour, and store all from the jar. I couldn't find one, so I thought, 'I can make that.'" And the rest is history – Karen's Original reCAP POUR received an award f rom Innovation Erie and was successfully funded on Kickstarter, which paved the way for the reCAP brand and the creation of Mason Jars Company. Described by some customers as the 'most multifunctional gadget in the home,' reCAP has been noticed by the likes of America's Test Kitchen, Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, Better Homes & Gardens, and Real Simple. The brand has also strategically partnered with Classico® Sauces, Amazing Grass®, and 1 Percent For The Planet. reCAP fits and repurposes Classico Riserva and 24 oz. Red Sauce jars, and the two brands will be launching a campaign this summer celebrating the "Art of Aperitivo." A series of how-to videos and other inspirational ideas will teach customers how to use jars to entertain guests and for everyday uses, like a reusable water bottle, fermenting kit, and storage container. The Mason jar lid, made of BPA-free, FDA-approved plastic, is manufactured in Karen's hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. When asked why that's important, Karen responded, "Where possible, I keep work local. I enjoy meeting people face-to-face, and by minimizing transportation of goods, we keep costs down."
