Hardware & Housewares Review Tuesday, May 9, 2017 6 COLOR WIND SPEED WEATHER STATION FROM LA CROSSE New for 2017, La Crosse Technology's Color Wind Speed Weather Station fea- tures a vibrant color display that provides real-time information on the weather conditions in your own backyard. Once the two outdoor sensors are mounted properly, you will begin to receive temperature, humidity and wind readings from your outdoor location in the comforts of your own home. The indoor station conveniently dis- plays time and date, indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, current wind speed, top wind speed, "feels like" tem- perature with heat index and dew point, and dynamic forecast icons to help you plan your day with ease. By using scale and proportion, along with color, for each feature set on the display, this weather station draws the eye to the most impor- tant features. The forecast icons indicate what the weather will be like in a few hours based on changes in barometric pressure and the tendency indicators. The wind speed graph displays current speed in either mph or kmh. The station keeps the wind speed history and can display top wind speeds for the last one hour, 24 hours, seven days, one month and one year. Atomic Time automati- cally sets your station to the correct time based on your time zone selection and will automatical- ly update for Daylight Saving Time. The calendar with day, month and date makes this a perfect desktop device with an adjustable backlight which lets you decide how bright the display is based on placement in your home or office. Choose LO or OFF if you plan to display the station in your bedroom at night; choose HI for daytime hours. This unit is also available in a black and white display and operates on battery power versus AC. La Crosse Technology's small town team takes pride in the quality and value of every product it produces. Responding to changes in VOC requirements led Franmar to develop these new formula- tions. Like all Franmar products, they are safe for the environment and the user. During product development, the company realized that there would not be a silver bullet for all graffiti. Because graffiti shows up on unfinished concrete, which is quite porous, and other surfaces that are finished (it has dubbed these sur- faces "hard") it created products that are tailor-made for the particular surface. The products themselves are easy to use. For BLUE BEAR Porous Surface Graffiti Remover, spray the remover on the graffiti, let it sit for a moment and then agitate the surface with a stiff bris- tled brush and then rinse the surface with a power washer. The porous nature of the concrete means that the graffiti has a lot of places where it clings. The agitation of the remover and the power washer gets into those pockets to clean them out. BLUE BEAR Hard Surface Graffiti Remover is incredibly easy and very satisfying to use. While developing and demonstrating the product, the compa- ny has found that it is as simple as spraying a bit on a rag and then working the tag, especially if it is a smaller tag. For larger areas, just spray it on and you'll start to notice the graffiti breaking up. Simply wipe off with a clean rag or rinse with water. The company demonstrates how well the product works by tagging the company truck and removing the tag from the hood. Other places where this product would be perfect is to remove marker from doors, bathroom stalls, lockers, city buses, etc. In fact, one of the company's customers is using it to remove graffiti from the porta-johns he rents. DIYers along with schools, municipalities and restorers can all benefit from this prod- uct. A word of warning: the graffiti removers are paint removers. Using any graffiti remover on a painted surface (latex, enamels) that has been tagged may result in removing the base layer of paint. On a surface that isn't powder coated or clear coated like a car, always do a test to see how the surface paint will react. These graffiti removers will be an exciting addition to your shelves and will provide a great solution for your cus- tomers looking to rid themselves of graf- fiti issues. Stop by booth #5031 to see a live demonstration of these graffiti removers. Visit Franmar at booth #5031. QUARTERBACK TOUCHDOWN HITS PAYDIRT By Michael Pendergast, Inventor "I'm always on the lookout for active and engaging sports products that appeal to different demographics," says Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank. "Quarterback Touchdown is challenging for kids, teens, adults, tailgate parties – and it brings the family together. This is something every football fan should have set up for a little halftime competition. The potential of this product is awesome." Kid Agains started with an idea, a garage, a sewing machine, some pipe and a whole lot of guts. I used every dollar invested in my home to start Kid Agains and to develop Quarterback Touchdown. To make a long story short, I was dead broke with my first container on the water, and three months behind on all my bills. We launched on Amazon, and we hit No. 1 Best Seller in four months and haven't looked back. We devel- oped four more games: BulziBucket (Next Generation Cornhole), Pong Bounce, Diskee and a tough Ladder Ball. We are in more than 1,500 stores nationwide, and take care of our customers as if they are family, while also providing top qual- ity products. Kid Agains has many products in its pipeline to continue bring- ing new and exciting games and toys to the marketplace year after year. Kid Agains and BulziBucket just struck a deal with Water Sports, one of the industry's lead- ing companies. Together, we promise to continue to bring joy and a lifetime of memories to you and your family. For more information, visit booth #12740.
