Gaming News 7 Wednesday, April 12, 2017 SLIPGRIPS LAUNCHES NEW GROUNDBREAKING SLIP-RESISTANT TREAD DESIGN SlipGrips, a leading designer, manufac- turer and provider of slip-resistant footwear, introduces DragonGrip – a cut- ting-edge non-slip tread design that is bringing the gaming market to its feet. The key to DragonGrip's unparal- leled performance is the combination of an advanced technology rubber com- pound that is confidential and exclusive to SlipGrips with a patented revolution- ary tread design. The propriety tread con- sists of hundreds of hexagonal pylons of varying heights that form a 3D pattern. On a micro level, each individual six- sided pylon independently adjusts to changing surface textures while creating numerous small channels that efficiently funnel away liquid, soap and grease. At the same time on a macro level, the larg- er valleys created by the 3D relief allow for faster dispersion and therefore greater outsole-to-floor contact. It's a smarter, ambitious, multi-tasking, fearless outsole that empowers the wearer to work the floor with the sole of a dragon. Independent laboratory Mark II ASTM F1677-05 test results confirm unrivaled performance in maximum sur- face-to-surface contact to prevent slip- ping and sliding. Superior test scores of 0.62 in oily and wet (vegetable oil and water) and 0.54 in soapy conditions (50/50 blend of liquid soap and water) powerfully prove this outsole outper- forms the competition in reducing slip/fall inci- dents and improving employee safety. But while these shoes definitely have the brains, they also have the looks. From the iconic style of a skater's shoe to the trendiest new athletic shoe style, employees will enjoy wearing these fly hot dragons. The true draw of these trend-setting kicks is the unique use of fresh bold col- ors in the uppers as well as in the out- soles. While SlipGrips definitely offers industry-standard black for conservative uniform wear, it takes it up a notch with cool color options. These shoes can be tailor-made to your specific company colors to fashionably coordinate with your brand identity. The colored tread adds a subtle flash of bad-ass dragon that secretly inspires a more pro- ductive shift and allows your employees to show their true colors while staying safely on their feet. You can also maximize employee safety by incorpo- rating a comprehensive shoe program. As a division of Lehigh Outfitters, SlipGrips is the leader in managed cor- porate shoe programs. With a dedicated website, on-site kiosks, subsidy, payroll deduct and voucher options and so many other customized services to specifically fit your company needs, you will increase employee participation and sig- nificantly reduce the risk and cost of slip and fall accidents. SHAPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF AMERICAN INDIAN LEADERS American Indian tribes and peoples are stakeholders in the modern economy and global challenges. Ensuring that their children are prepared to actively lead and participate in tribal government and eco- nomic pursuits is a critical interest for tribal people, as well as participating as leaders in state, regional, national and global agendas that affect the health and welfare of tribal people and lands. The Lucy Covington Center at Eastern Washington University (EWU) will be a cultural, spiritual and academic anchor for American Indian students where indigenous values and knowledge forge an interdisciplinary education focused on leadership and college gradu- ation, thus transforming lives, families and communities. The vision for the Center (which will be located on the EWU Campus in Cheney, Washington) is to nurture a national community of students, indige- nous scholars and tribal leaders in the spirit of Lucy Covington's example for the benefit of EWU students' success. The Center will cultivate cross-cultural collaboration led by American Indian values and indigenous knowledge, and encourage students to go forth, lead and bring together people of all races to tack- le the most pressing issues facing their tribes and humanity today. The Lucy Covington Center at EWU will ensure affordable access to quality education for American Indian students, inspire young American Indian people to attend college and graduate and be instru- mental in shaping generations of America's Indian leaders who will con- tinue – in the spirit of Lucy Covington – to protect and enhance the welfare of their tribes and all people. Against great odds, Lucy Covington, a long-time tribal rights activist and Colville Tribal Council member, helped change the course of American Indian history through her courageous and selfless style of lead- ership. Covington was one of many trib- al peoples who worked in the 1950s and 1960s to bring an end to "termina- tion" – an ill-conceived federal policy designed to gain control of land and nat- ural resources from tribal ownership by terminating tribal status. Lucy worked with members of her own and other tribes to help preserve tribal sovereignty and self-determination for the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation and Indian tribes across America. Covington's actions and success contributed toward reversing the United States government's effort to extinguish its responsibilities to American Indian tribes and helped shift federal government policy from termination to sov- ereignty for American Indians. Training the next genera- tion of American Indian politi- cal leaders was embedded in Lucy Covington's work. She knew that the fight for tribal sovereignty would never end – new laws would erode tribal sovereignty one-by-one. The Lucy Covington Center at EWU will be instru- mental in shaping the next generation of tribal leaders who will, in the spirit of Lucy Covington, continue to protect and enhance the welfare of their tribes. DIALOG SEMICONDUCTOR ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP & INVESTMENT WITH ENERGOUS CORP Dialog Semiconductor plc (XETRA:DLG), a provider of highly integrated power man- agement, AC/DC power conversion, solid state lighting (SSL) and Bluetooth ® low energy (LE) technology, announced a strategic investment in Energous Corporation (NASDAQ: WATT), the devel- oper of WattUp ® , a revolutionary wire-free charging technology that provides over-the- air power at a distance. Dialog has agreed to make a $10 million investment in Energous and become the exclusive component sup- plier of the WattUp integrated circuits (ICs), while Energous is able to leverage Dialog's broad sales and distribution channels to accelerate market adoption. Energous' WattUp technology pro- vides a unique and more extensive wire- less charging experience compared to tra- ditional coil-based technologies. By sending energy safely through the air using radio frequencies, WattUp is able to deliver intelligent, scalable power in a similar way to a Wi-Fi router. WattUp differs from inductive or resonant wire- less charging systems in that it delivers power at a distance, to multiple devices, in any orientation, resulting in a wire-free experience that has the ability to trans- form the way consumers and industries charge and power electronic devices at home, in the office, in the car and beyond. The partnership combines Energous' uncoupled wireless charging technology and Dialog's power saving technologies to drive market expansion. Energous' WattUp technology uses Dialog's SmartBond ® Bluetooth low energy solu- tion as the out-of-band communications channel between the wireless transmitter and receiver. Dialog's power manage- ment technology is then used to distribute power from the WattUp receiver IC to the rest of the device while Dialog's AC/DC Rapid Charge™ power conversion tech- nology efficiently delivers power to the wireless transmitter. WattUp uses small form factor antennas that are formed using the exist- ing device's printed circuit board, remov- ing the need for larger, more expensive coils used in competing solutions today. This enables broader adoption of wire- less charging in a larger range of battery- powered devices, such as smartphones, tablets, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, small form factor wearables and Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR) devices. Accelerated sales growth will be achieved by leveraging Dialog's strength in delivering volume and tier one cus- tomer access. "This partnership brings two very complementary companies closer togeth- er, creating numerous benefits," said Stephen R. Rizzone, President and Chief Executive Officer, Energous. "Energous is pleased to be able to leverage Dialog's decades of experience in power-saving technologies as well as its robust sales channel, long-term strategic relationships and world-class fab and backend opera- tions. Working together, we will be able to accelerate the adoption of the WattUp technology and reshape the way electron- ic devices are charged." "Partnering with a top tier semicon- ductor company like Dialog also repre- sents a strong validation for Energous as we prepare to launch WattUp-enabled consumer products with our licensees in early 2017," added Rizzone. "Energous' WattUp technology can be thought of as wireless charging 2.0, and delivers a wireless charging experi- ence that is much closer to what con- sumers desire by charging devices close up and at a distance, while in use and without compromising product design or adding excessive cost," said Mark Tyndall, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy, Dialog Semiconductor. "This alliance means that Dialog is able to more closely align our complementary technologies, supply chain and global sales resources to accelerate the deployment of Energous' WattUp wireless transmitter and receiver technology while expanding our innovative use cases and market share."
