GN: Tell our readers about Clasen Quality Chocolate. BG: Clasen Quality Chocolate is a privately- held company based in Madison, Wisconsin, that supplies a wide variety of chocolate and confectionery coatings to food manufactur- ers and private label grocery brands across the country. We also produce our own retail brands, including Artisan Kettle™ Organic Chocolate Chips, which we just launched this year. Our company was founded in 1959 by two German bakers, the Clasen brothers, and over time evolved into a candy company, and now a major supplier of chocolate and con- fectionery coatings to the food industry. BG: We want to let retail category buyers know about our new line of delicious, or- ganic chocolate. Here at the show, we are launching Artisan Kettle Organic Choco- late Chips and Baking Bars, available in a variety of delicious flavors. GN: Who is your target audience for Artisan Kettle? BG: We made Artisan Kettle Or- ganic Chocolate for people who care about the quality of what goes into their baking recipes; those who value clean ingredient lines, and allergen-free and organic product attributes; and of course, those who love delicious choco- late! GN: How do your products help retailers? BG: We think our products will grow re- tailers' category sales! The organic seg- ment of the baking chocolate category is small, but growing fast, and we see the po- tential for even greater growth. Many of the organic baking chocolate items in stores today are expensive and can taste rather bitter, limiting their appeal. We know peo- ple want organic foods, so we have worked to make delicious tasting choco- late chips at a more affordable price point.
