EdTech Show Daily Wednesday, February 8, 2017 8 HUE HD PRO DOCUMENT CAMERA: FUNCTIONAL, AFFORDABLE The HUE HD Pro with Intuition Software is the latest addition to the HUE document camera product line. The HUE HD Pro is a lightweight, easily adjustable and affordable document camera ideal for use in the classroom. The flexible gooseneck arm makes the camera easy to move and focus on subject material to share with the entire classroom. The camera plugs directly into a USB port on the computer and is able to view a full-size letter sheet and project this to the whiteboard via a PC and projector. The HUE HD Pro features also include built-in LED lights, full 360- degree rotation, manual focus, an option- al base and an integrated USB micro- phone. "Document cameras have been around for many years, but the new HUE HD Pro makes using a document camera fun and easy," said Doug Pennekamp, Chief Executive Officer of Education 2000, a trusted HUE partner. "The beau- ty of this document camera is the sim- plicity. The camera is small and the gooseneck arm allows you to focus on exactly what you want the class to see." HUE Intuition Software is included with the purchase of the HUE HD Pro. The features of the HUE Intuition Software include the ability to record video and sound, annotate and save images and take snapshots. The HUE HD Pro can be used in the classroom to demonstrate a sci- ence project, take snapshots of student work, record a technique or experiment to replay to the class and create time- lapse photography. The camera can also be used as a webcam to chat with remote schools in other countries with software such as Skype. The affordable cost is a great benefit to schools. The HUE HD Pro with Intuition Software is available for $69.95. "When I first saw the HUE HD Pro I was impressed with the high resolution quality of the image," Pennekamp said. "Then I saw the affordable price. I believe that this document camera is a great teaching tool for any class- room." The HUE HD Pro is compatible with Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8) and Mac OS X (10.5 or higher). The camera is available in four colors: black, blue, green and red. MACKINVIA HONORED WITH FOUR TECH & LEARNING AWARDS MackinVIA continues to be hailed as one of today's most prestigious education technology products. In 2015 and 2016, it was awarded the Award of Excellence and Best of Show at ISTE, Tech & Learning's distinguished technology in education awards. When Mackin set out to create a dig- ital content delivery system for its cus- tomers, the top priority was to make it user-friendly and robust for students and educators alike. A catalog of more than 1.5 million digital products, tens of thou- sands of schools and districts and more than nine million students support that those efforts have been nothing short of successful. Today, the seven-year-old MackinVIA is being hailed within the industry as one of the best digital content management systems available for schools. Users can access their digital products including eBooks, online data- bases, videos and audiobooks from almost any mobile device or desktop computer. Teachers can use the system to align resources to their curriculum and educational standards, and librarians and administrators can purchase and manage the digital inventory all in one place. MackinVIA boasts a number of study features, including a personal and convenient Backpack for each student that lets them store their favorite resources and affords them the ability to create and access notes and highlights within those resources. With the Backpack feature, stu- dents can also download eBooks and audiobooks for on-the-go reading on their mobile devices. Mackin is continually updating and expanding its proprietary products. Most recently, MackinVIA updated the pro- gramming to give teachers the ability to assign materials to students and give direct access to digital materials pur- chased from other companies within the MackinVIA platform. MackinVIA has also been certified as Section 508 com- pliant, recognizing its ability to provide access to the resources for those with dis- abilities. "MackinVIA has been gaining in popularity and usage as more and more schools are discovering its wide- reaching capabilities aligned with its user- friendly interface," states Mesa Heise, Mackin's Director of Digital Services. "To receive this recognition from the professionals at Tech & Learning who review education- al technology products all the time has been added affirmation to how good this product really is." Mackin will be providing ongoing presentations throughout the conference on the MackinVIA platform, with class- room and library experts demonstrating how they use MackinVIA effectively in their schools. SORRY – YOU CAN'T ENTER THIS EXHIBIT WITHOUT A PASSWORD Imagine if you could only enter an exhib- it at TCEA by saying the correct pass- word to get in. That's 400-plus pass- words just so that you can get access to products and services, many of which you've already paid for. If this seems unrealistic, unsustainable and unfriendly to educators, you're right. Why then, are we willing to be this unfriendly to teach- ers and students in their digital learning environments? Educators are prevented from unlocking the full potential of digital education because they don't have easy, reliable access. Websites, reference sites, learning games, streaming video, source materials, files, presentations, manage- ment systems. Each and every one needs a username and password. That's too much to ask of our teachers and students, who want to spend time teaching and learning, not entering usernames and passwords. There's a better way to ensure that teachers and students have access to the digital learning resources they need, on the devices they prefer. It's called ClassLink. This technology empowers students and teach- ers with instant access to their learning resources. ClassLink OneClick includes a library of more than 5,000 single sign- on apps and instant links to file folders at school and on Google, Office 365 and Dropbox cloud drives. ClassLink OneRoster easily and securely delivers class rosters to any publisher using open technology standards. ClassLink Analytics gives decision makers the usage data they need. Accessible from any com- puter, tablet or smart- phone, ClassLink is ideal for 1-to-1 and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) ini- tiatives. As you walk the floor during TCEA and freely move from one exhibit to another, consider how nice it would be if you could do the same with your digital learning. Stop by the ClassLink booth to see how. And no, you don't need a pass- word to get in. Visit ClassLink at booth #2326. WITH ITPROTV, STUDENTS CONSUME CONTENT RATHER THAN ENDURING TRAINING For those wanting excellent IT training that is as entertaining as it is content- rich, discover ITProTV. The company, headquartered in Gainesville, Florida and in place since 2013, offers an affordable subscription-based training that keeps users up-to-date through access to a constantly expanding course library. This format provides a connec- tion with the real world experience for self-study users who are career Information Technology (IT) students and gives them a solid and entertaining path to success. Because ITProTV's shows are streamed live every day, the content portfolio not only stays fresh but continues to be current. The shows cover the latest information on each topic geared toward IT candidates who desire to validate their skills and knowledge through vendor certification exams. Tim Broom, ITProTV's Chief Executive Officer, notes that the goal for the show is to contact those schools and students who are seeking the kind of streaming educational study programs that ITProTV offers. ITProTV students have the ability to learn wherever they are. Students can watch from a desktop, a tablet, a smartphone or ITProTV's dedicated Apple TV and Roku channels. The company is very proud of being able to remove bar- riers and empower members through effective content that is also entertain- ing. The company's target customers are staff and students in grades K-12 as well as those in higher education ven- ues who are interested in a technology education that has a delivery platform for IT programs. There are many options for online technology education available, however none of those com- petitors make con- tent that is as com- pelling and entertain- ing as that provided by ITProTV. ITProTV's members find the information so interesting they want to consume the content rather than merely endure the training. The company is launching its Single Sign On integrations for client Learning Management Systems in Q1 2017. For more information, visit www.itpro.tv or call 352.600.6900.
