GN: What is a Legacy building? BF: Legacy buildings are fabric struc- tures on a rigid steel frame. They com- bine the characteristics that made fabric structures popular – bright interiors, insu- lation, soundproofing – and add a rigid steel frame. The frame allows for more design options, including additional square footage, HVAC and lighting sys- tems, plus greater resistance to heavy wind and snow loads. GN: Why is the rigid frame important? BF: The rigid frame increases the build- ing use options. When space for ancillary use is a concern, we can add a mezzanine for offices, meeting rooms and security. Legacy buildings often include separated areas for storage, operations and building maintenance systems. These factors com- bine for a more efficient building and a faster return on investment. GN: How does Legacy work with build- ing owners? BF: Legacy Building Solutions is a design-build and design-assist company, so we partner with you throughout the design, engineering and construction process. Our customers range from small municipalities to major corporations, and we offer services from simple building projects to full construction management. Our team listens to the needs and wants of your stakeholders throughout the process. GN: How does the cost compare to that of traditional construction? BF: We have two advantages when it comes to cost: expedited construction and lower life cycle costs. Installation is completed in about one third the time of traditional build- ings, and we own the schedule and budget for on-time and on-budget projects. Life cycle costs are decreased large- ly by greater energy efficiency. Lighting and heating systems work more efficient- ly in the insulated and lined buildings. With the ever-growing need for green buildings, Legacy has developed a solar panel and turbine system to decrease the carbon footprint of our structures. We care about our environment. GN: What sets Legacy apart from other fabric structures on the market? BF: Legacy is one of the few fabric struc- ture companies certified by ISO 9001:2008. All building components are manufactured onsite for complete quality control. Our factory-trained installation crew is the most experienced in the indus- try for professional, quality installation. The principal team has over a century of combined experience in all aspects of the industry. We were the first to apply fabric cladding to a rigid steel frame, and we hold a patent for the attachment process. While we are based in Minnesota with offices in Canada, we provide engineer- ing and installation services worldwide. For more information, go to www .legacybuildingsolutions.com. CIS TECHNOLOGY SFMS WINS GAMING AWARD With customer service in the palm of your hand or at your desktop – now you know – the Slot Floor Monitor System is once again the proven winner. It was the clear best-of-class winner in a recent 90-day side-by-side trial of three slot floor customer service systems at the three casinos of the Gila River Gaming Enterprises in Phoenix. These locations took an intensely detailed review over a three-month period to evaluate the multiple systems from every perspective. CIS Technology's SFMS was the obvi- ous choice, by far – it led in every category. The company itself even won as a vendor. The system won for ease of IT setup and preparation prior to on-site training, making it efficient to use from the start, but it's also in the trenches with every team member supervisor and shift manager by providing on-site training around the clock. It also won for its vastly superior reporting suite and handheld capability with no limitations; the system is fully integrated with the expansive desktop PC capability and works with a wide variety of the brands and mod- els of handheld devices a property can use. Another reason why CIS's Slot Floor Monitor System was such a clear winner was its "Fluid and Fluent" intuitive use, by each level of team member and upper man- agement, both on wireless devices and desktop PCs. What's more, CIS Technology offers add-on modular departmental features available now, in a broad spectrum from which to choose. Options include Wireless Handheld capability, Employee Status and Task Completion, Premium Player for player development staff and the Patron Services Feature Set. The best part: You can trial and module before having to decide to keep the product long term, and the system comes with free upgrades and enhance- ments – not to mention a very strong ROI and very low long-term cost of ownership. The Slot Floor Monitor System has been deployed in more than 90 casinos nationwide, continuing to prove itself best in class. Without exception, every single casino that has trialed the SFMS immediately discovered the huge bene- fits the SFMS provides and placed the system into service. CIS Technology's policy of feature and function enhance- ments as requested by its customers is highly prized, as CIS continues to improve the SFMS' customer service options and management needs.
