Gaming News 1 5 Tuesday, September 27, 2016 PAYCHECK NEXTGEN REVOLUTIONIZES THERMAL PRINTERS The new Paycheck NextGen revolution- izes how the industry sees TITO thermal printers and their capabilities. So far, TITO printers' performance is evaluated by their speed, their longevity and their reliability. Refusing to conform to the norm, the Paycheck NextGen crushes the competition's speed, longevity and relia- bility, and pushes past these features by offering future proof connectivity and capabilities. More than just a printer, the Paycheck NextGen is a PC-based infrastructure powered by a Dual Core processor. Beyond being the fastest, smartest and toughest TITO printer, the Paycheck NextGen not only prints TITO tickets but acts as USB Host, allowing it to run addi- tional components as well as secondary software and media. In addition to being Promotional Coupon ready, it is fully inte- grated with the following connectivity: Ethernet port, HDMI, five USB ports (two host and three slave), Serial, Micro SD card reader, BlueTooth and optional wire- less connectivity. With game management systems looking to offer new features and technologies, such as network download- ing and promotional couponing, the Paycheck NextGen is ready to answer these needs and can be fully networked through its Ethernet port; can provide pro- motional coupons through USB ports; it offers easier serviceability through USB, HDMI and BlueTooth, while providing technician an array of trouble shooting content and menus via its web-based reports; and can be a USB Host for other components through its second processor, truly making it an innovative future proof TITO printing solution. When it comes to printers, customers often identify ticket jams, ticket misprints called "half tickets" and wasted paper as their main issues. The NextGen answers these needs by eliminating the use of unreliable presenters and providing the first com- pletely straight and fully integrated anti- jamming paper path. This feature guaran- tees a fully printed ticket each time with- out any jams. It is the only printer to offer a standard 400 ticket tray with available protective cover in order to protect ther- mal paper from UV discoloration, debris and dust as well as cabinet components which may interfere with the ticket stack. In order to maximize each ticket stack, it has also integrated the first "Last Ticket" paper low sensor, allowing the printer to trigger its paper low sensor on the last one or two tickets, beating the competition's 10 to 20 tickets paper low and pro- viding the operators opera- tional costs savings and less wasted TITO paper in return. Rounding off its innovative features, the NextGen's anti- spillage conduits offer additional protec- tion for specific environments, like bar- top games, as these channels will deviate any liquids spilled away from critical electronic components. In addition to answering the indus- try's biggest needs, as a Paycheck series product, the NextGen is a drop-in replacement with Paycheck 4 and its competitors; is completely hot-swap- pable; is still the fastest printer with speeds of up to 10"/sec; and is the longest lasting printer with more than 62 miles of print head life. BRUNSWICK BOWLING IS BIG BUSINESS Casinos across the country are discover- ing the highly profitable bowling busi- ness, which brings in additional foot traf- fic, lengthens visitor stays, diversifies the customer base and drives repeat visits. Bowling generates better-than-aver- age return on investment as well as exceptional cash flows. Brunswick Bowling research shows that the revenue for larger bowling entertainment centers averages over $100,000 per lane, with some reporting as high as $200,000 per lane. The actual revenue per square foot for any facility will, of course, depend on the entertainment mix and other factors. The successful bowling center draws customers in and keeps them coming back. Creating that environment requires a strategic partner with a depth and breadth of experience combined with staying power and ongoing support. With more than 125 years of experience and products installed in more than 70 per- cent of the world's bowling centers, Brunswick is the best-known and most- trusted name in the game – adding value to every aspect of the business. Brunswick can help casinos design and build the business that's right for them. There are a few business models to choose from: Boutique Bowling Focused primarily on upscale food and drink, with bowling as the primary form of entertainment, sometimes augmented by live music, billiards, virtual/cyber gaming and bocce ball. Family Entertainment Center (FEC) Provides traditional bowling offerings, plus other venues such as arcades, laser tag, go-carts and party rooms. A snack bar, food court or branded restaurant serves upscale food to match the atmosphere; beverage serv- ice plays a strong role. Hybrid Center Combines the FEC and boutique bowling concepts with numerous comple- mentary venues, from arcades and indoor attrac- tions to laser tag arenas. Enhanced food and beverage and a more sophisticated service model cater to both families and the active adult market, with two differ- ent environments under one roof. Hybrid centers are the fastest growth segment for new center construction. Traditional Bowling Center Focused on bowling, with limited enter- tainment venues such as game room, bil- liards, pro shop and bar. Beverages play a strong role; food is limited to snack bar options. The Brunswick Build-to-Bowl program is perfect for investors who don't have experience with planning or constructing a bowling center. Brunswick Build-to- Bowl is a single-source solution, provid- ing services to kick off the earliest planning stages right through proj- ect completion, from site selection and analysis to interior design, product installation, marketing and operations. First-time and veteran developers alike enjoy a smooth planning and con- struction process with help from a team of highly experienced, qualified consult- ants. Brunswick has established long- term strategic partnerships with the most prominent names in the industry to assist with everything from facility design, financing and construction to amenities such as foodservice, arcades, billiards and a variety of services within the cen- ter. ADLINK TECHNOLOGY: BUNDLED SOFTWARE, HARDWARE SOLUTIONS ARE THE FUTURE OF GAMING DEVELOPMENT An interview with Dirk Finstel, Chief Executive Officer EMEA, ADLINK Technology, Inc. GN: Which general requirements do you see for application development in the gaming industry? DF: Gaming applications are character- ized by stringent requirements on proces- sor and graphics performance. Graphics output on various screens in ever increas- ing resolutions (4k, 5k, 8k) assumes high scalability. Apart from an efficient kernel sys- tem, the expandability for various input and output devices is a very basic requirement. An implementation of coin hoppers, ticket printers and similar peripheral devices is also a must have for commercial gaming applications. GN: What are the characteristic features of ADLINK's solutions? DF: ADLINK's solution is based on the concept of Application Ready Intelligent Platforms (ARIPs), which speed up inte- gration of the customer's gaming soft- ware application many times over. The ARIP solution comprises a Box PC, var- ious extension cards for security and data/event logging (ADi-BSEC) and the integration of input and output devices (ADi-BACC), as well as the intelligent software application interface (iAPI). Through flexible use of a host of processors in our infotainment PCs, rang- ing from Intel ® Celeron ® to the 6th generation of Intel's high end Core™ i7 CPU with up to 3.3 GHz, an extremely high scalabili- ty is provided. A broad selection of graphics cards further adds to the flexibility of our solutions. Using our extension cards with the iDLL/iAPI software solution simplifies the integration of dedicated input and output devices. Our software takes over commu- nication between application and peripher- al device, and thus offers a straightforward interface to address these devices. The sig- nificantly reduced development time increases competitiveness through dramat- ically shortened time-to-market. Customers likewise don't need to worry about the applications' safety. Both in terms of software and hardware, comprehensive safety requirements are met according to the latest standards. All of our solutions for the gaming industry comply with the GLI standards, so there are no obstacles to prevent rapid certification. GN: Which current trends do you con- sider important, and will you fol- low these new trends? DF: Currently we consider the trend toward networking of devices to be of high importance for us. We recognized this customer demand very early and have been working on our IoT strategy for quite some years. With SEMA Cloud ® , ADLINK has developed a comprehensive IoT solution, which is optionally available. This solution makes it possible to remotely read and control hardware information and application- specific data. GN: In summary, what key benefits do your solutions offer? DF: Our gaming solutions have been specifically developed to offer our cus- tomers a perfect ecosystem for their applications. Users are immediately posi- tioned to complete their applications within a very short time, with minimized expenditure and risk. Visit ADLINK at booth #1435.
