GOURMET NEWS JUNE 2016 www.gourmetnews.com SUMMER FANCY FOOD SHOW PREVIEW 1 8 This year's Summer Fancy Food Show is shaping up to be the largest in its 62-year history, with more of the latest specialty foods and beverages to discover than ever before. The show takes place June 26 – 28, 2016, at Jacob Javits Center. The sold-out exhibit halls will be filled with 180,000 of new products from across the United States, and 55 coun- tries, including partner country Tunisia, whose pavilion is sponsored by the Tunisian Export Promotion Center (CEPEX) and Tunisian Olive Oil (PACK- TEC). Italy boasts the largest interna- tional showing, followed by Spain, Turkey, France and Greece. Show highlights include the Shelf Showdown, a specialty food pitch com- petition in which first-time exhibitors pitch a new product to a panel of buyers for a chance to win a promotional pack- age from the Specialty Food Association, and the sofi Awards Showcase, which will feature finalists and winners of the sofi Awards. A Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony will honor specialty food pioneers who have grown and nur- tured the industry. GN Summer Fancy Food Show to Celebrate Industry Pioneers New Manuka Honey Products from PRI Delicious Classic Manuka Honey Salt Caramels are a real treat for caramel lovers around the world. Only the best New Zealand Manuka Honey and organic Pacific Flaky Sea Salt is blended with or- ganic brown rice syrup, organic dried cane juice and real molasses for this wholesome treat. Manuka Honey is renowned for its anti-bacterial properties, helping with digestive issues, and boost- ing the immune system. New Zealand (NZ) Pacific Sea Salt is dried the old-fash- ioned way by sun and wind for 13 months to retain natural minerals and trace ele- ments that our bodies require, including free form calcium and magnesium for strong bones and good sleep. Pacific Resources International (PRI) has been importing high quality New Zealand products to the U.S. for more than 30 years. PRI was the first to intro- duce Manuka Honey to the American people in 1989 and now has the largest selection of Manuka Honey and other na- tive New Zealand honeys. Why are New Zealand prod- ucts so great? New Zealand is far enough away from the rest of the world that it still retains pristine oceans and country- sides to harvest unique, clean and natural products. New Zealand as a country is GMO free. PRI only works with local bee keepers that take pride in their products. Some of PRI's other treats include Manuka Honey Chocolates and Manuka Honey Nuggets as well as new gourmet Flaky, Barbeque and Mesquite Sea Salts in a convenient bottle for the home chef to make that per- fect meal. For those who like to pamper their skin, the new Manuka hand cream and gentle moisturizing soap will help re- tain that natural healthy glow. PRI will exhibit at the Summer Fancy Food Show in booth # 127.
