LEMO works closely with the OEM camera manufacturers around the world and has a very strong reputation on the design and integration of the general purpose camera connectors for applica- tions such as camera power, view finders, motor controls and many more camera accessories. LEMO continues to connect with these customers to provide them with custom connections to meet their specific requirements. It feels that making the customer connection is just as important as the connections for its customers' end products. LEMO (Cont'd. from p. 1) Most recently LEMO acquired Northwire, a cable and wire company located in Osceola, Wisconsin. This year at NAB, LEMO and Northwire are demonstrating not only a wide variety of electrical and fiber optic connector solu- tions for in-studio, outdoor harsh envi- ronments and audio visual connectors for microphones and hearing devices, but also SMPTE hybrid fiber optic cable to complete the connection solution. LEMO also offers value-added solutions such as cable assembly services, fiber optic kits for cleaning and inspection of the fiber connection systems, fusion splicing and media converters. The IP signal is connected to the module via fiber optics, resolving the limited cable length of HDMI. Using the same form factor, emFusion takes base band signals (SDI or HDMI) and encapsulate them into IP, allowing direct injection into your media net- work. Transport formats include ST- 2022-6, AES67, ASPEN, TR-03 and TR-04, streamlining interoperability between devices from multiple ven- dors. emVIEW and emFUSION are in- field firmware upgradable, allowing functionality and formats to evolve without the need to replace SFP hard- ware. Versatile Format Adaptation: ST- Embrionix Design (Cont'd. from p. 1) 2022-6, AES67, TR-03, TR-04 and Aspen encapsulation formats; JPEG- 2000 encoding; HDMI and SDI; Streamlined interoperability between devices from multiple vendors; and in- field updatable functionality and for- mat. Efficient Mechanical Design: resists -40° to +60°C ambient tempera- ture; cable retaining mechanisms; back of monitor mounting; redundant power supplies; and vibration resistant. Plug and Play Approach: discovery mechanism (TR-03/AMWA); and auto- matic assignments of IP addresses (DHCP). Visit www.embrionix.com to see its latest SFP products. They will dim all the way down to a night light, with no color shift while remaining flicker-free. The light looks exactly like tungsten halogen, but without the heat. Or, if you opt for the daylight version, its also spot on. Remember, this is the same company mak- ing Hexolux, notorious for high-quality color rendering. Where newsrooms would normally have to broadcast from a temporary setup ReLamp (Cont'd. from p. 1) for days while new fixtures and new wiring were installed, the ReLamp LEDs can "relamp" a studio in one night. For a list price under $800, the ReLamp 1K is what most have been wait- ing for. It's certainly more than a halogen globe, but a newsroom will save enough in power in the first year to pay for the upgrade. Now a studio does not need to fill a dumpster with fresnels in order to go green. For more information, visit www. visionsmith.com or stop by booth #C12949. ROUNDTABLE FILMS OPTIMIZES QUALITY CONTROL FOR 4K POST PRODUCTION Interra Systems, a leading global provider of software-based QC, monitor- ing and analysis solutions to the digital media industry, announced that Roundtable Films, an independent post- production company in London, is using its Baton automated, file-based QC solu- tion for film, documentary, short form and TV series projects. Facing an increased workload, Roundtable Films recently moved into a spacious Gothic Victorian building to accommodate more suites. During the migration, the company installed two full-time grade and online suites along with sound and offline suites. The com- pany's increase in finishing work com- bined with the industry's ever-evolving requirements for file-based QC made it critical that Roundtable choose a solution that offers confidence to deliver right the first time. Interra Systems' Baton was absolutely the right fit, providing high reliability and scalability. "Automation has become a vital part of the production and post-production environment. During our recent expan- sion to finishing services, we looked for a product that offered a wide range of capabilities beyond being DPP-compli- ant, such as resolution independence and the ability to cover various deliverables like 4K Digital Cinema and UHDTV," said Ben Coulson, Managing Director at Roundtable Films. "After spending time investigating the various products available on the market, Baton was the obvious choice, as it covered all of our requirements and more. We particularly love the scalable nature of Baton as well as the ability to offer cloud-based automated QC to all of our clients so they can QC material from anywhere in the world," added Jack Jones, Head of Color Grading at Roundtable Films. Baton ensures the integrity of Roundtable Films' content across the entire post-production process, from ingest to editing, color grading and archiving. Using the automated, file- based QC system, Roundtable Films can guarantee the quality of any high-resolu- tion content, including Digital Cinema, 4K, DPX and UHD files. Baton offers seamless integration with media servers, transcoders, MAM archiving and workflow solutions through its easy to use web-services based APIs. Allowing Roundtable Films to continue using existing third-party hardware led to a quick and trouble-free installation. Featuring a scalable architecture, Baton will enable Roundtable Films to expand easily in the future, as its QC needs grow. Baton's high availability ensures that the system continues operating even if one of the hardware components is down. "Roundtable Films works with multi- ple formats and top-quality, high-resolu- tion images. As it expands its business, Baton gives it the confidence that every- thing is correct. In a file-based world, it often saves time and expense to perform QC checks at every stage of the work- flow," said Penny Westlake, Director, Europe at Interra Systems. "As high-res formats such as 4K are used more and more in post-production workflows, it will become even more essential for com- panies to deploy a trusted solution for their file-based QC needs."
