With the agreement, Wasserman will work exclusively with Nervve to bring to market their visual search technology, which will allow brands and properties to easily, quickly and accurately track and analyze brand exposure impact across various sports and entertainment programming. Nervve's unique technology provides Wasserman the ability to scan game and event footage for a specific object, logo or scene in minutes rather than weeks, as compared to similar products currently on the market. Originally developed for use in the military and intelligence communi- ty, the tool will offer clients speedy access to visual data and a deep interpretation of the results, comparing the estimated value of exposure across numerous brands and/or different properties and events. Most importantly, by bringing this analy- sis to the context of a broader measure- ment framework, Wasserman and Nervve will help improve assessment and deci- sion making for brands and properties within their overall partnership strategy. "We are shifting our clients away from simply collecting data to focusing on con- necting information, with the ultimate goal of revealing insightful storylines that initiate actionable business decisions," said John Harper, Senior Vice President of Consulting at Wasserman. "Through our partnership with Nervve, we are per- fectly positioned to combine our current research capabilities and comprehensive consulting services with their technology to provide brands and properties a truly holistic partnership measurement offer- ing." "The difference with Nervve lies in its speed, accuracy and ease of use. The breadth of data and results we can provide with Wasserman's help will be very valu- able to marketers in the sports and enter- tainment industries," said Thomas E. Slowe, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nervve. "With our technology, clients can better understand their overall brand exposure, optimize signage assets, improve targeting and measurement, acquire visual analytics data and measure the value of their media to prove ROI." Wasserman and Nervve have already begun to implement this technology with brand and property clients. CHOOSING FLEXIBLE CONVERGED APPLIANCES FOR SOFTWARE DEFINED STORAGE A growing number of organizations are deploying software-defined storage (SDS). A 2015 study by Enterprise Strategy Group found that 68 percent of enterprises were committed to SDS, with 22 percent having already implemented the technology. SDS technology virtualizes access to storage, removing the need for applica- tions to know where their storage hard- ware physically is (or even what type of storage it is). This approach allows com- panies to use whichever physical devices they prefer for their storage needs. It also lets them create pools of storage devices and enables simplified policy-based man- agement – all of which can help business- es lower their costs significantly while improving their efficiency and increasing their agility. While it might not be right for every situation, SDS is becoming so popular that it's having a significant impact on the enterprise storage market in general. In a 2015 IDC report titled "Software- Defined Storage: Web Survey Report," Ashish Nadkarni, IDC's Program Director for Enterprise Servers and Storage, noted, "Software-defined storage is bringing about a real transformation in terms of how companies procure and deploy storage resources. It is shifting the paradigm from selecting systems based on preconfigured functional characteris- tics to a decoupled acquisition model in which hardware and software are acquired independent of each other." Converged infrastructure often pro- vides a speed boost to applications run- ning in an SDS environment. In a converged appliance, the storage hardware is physi- cally much closer to the compute nodes than in a traditional server setup with a separate SAN or NAS array. This reduces latency and increases performance for many common enterprise workloads, par- ticularly for data-intensive applications. A Principled Technologies study found that a Dell PowerEdge FX2 con- verged solution, powered by Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors and running VMware Virtual SAN SDS software, could process 3.1 times as many database operations per minute as a traditional HP server with an external storage array. And a separate Principled Technologies' test found that a Dell FX2 solution could support 72 per- cent more virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) users in 91 percent less space. The advantages seen in benchmark testing environments translate into noticeable gains in real-world situations. About Dell Dell converged infrastructure solutions promote superior ease of use and unri- valed flexibility, allowing IT to spend more time focusing on strategic business initiatives. Dell Inc. listens to customers and delivers innovative technology and services that give them the power to do more. For more information, visit www.dell.com/converged.
