SIAL Expects Blockbuster Show This Year in Paris
Over 50 years ago, the Salon International
de l'Alimentation (SIAL) set out to become
the world's premier food exhibition net-
work. In October 2016, SIAL Paris will
demonstrate how this biennial fair has in-
deed developed into the food industry's
front-line event – the ultimate place to dis-
cover today's food trends and explore to-
morrow's innovations.
It's nine months before kick-off and al-
ready 90 percent of the exhibition area has
been reserved. Representatives from more
than 92 countries have now confirmed

their presence, and over 160,000 profes-
sionals from around the world are expected
to attend the five-day show. Arranged into
food sectors and geographical regions,
SIAL's one-of-a-kind layout lets visitors cus-
tomize their experience, and explore the
exhibition according to their own particu-
lar needs.
A Tell-tale Premiere: The Gluten Free
Zone
Following a successful initiative launched
in 2014, SIAL continues to promote emerg-
ing food sectors by offering designated dis-
play areas. This year, for the first time, there
will be a Gluten Free Zone – a section epit-
omizing the way in which food markets are
adapting to new needs, as consumers (ever-
more educated and demanding) change
their habits and expectations.
Also under the spotlight will be the or-
ganic and fresh produce sectors, and the
beverage market – especially beers and hot
drinks. In addition, there will be a tech
zone, allowing companies to present their
latest technologies and equipment prod-
ucts. And because SIAL Paris is an ideal
showcase for the French food industry,
there will once again be a designated "Made
in France" pavilion.
Going beyond its status as a professional
networking and trade event, SIAL (now a
leading brand) continues to be the food
sector's main information hub, offering
profound insight into the mechanisms of a
market worth 1.5 trillion dollars and ex-
pecting double-digit growth in 2016. Over
2,500 new products will be presented at the
SIAL Innovation feature this year.
