K i t ch e n w a r e N e w s & H o u s e w a r e s R e v i e w S h o w D a i l y S u n d a y, M a r ch 6 , 2 0 1 6 7 2 DOLLAR/VALUE PROGRAM? WATCH OUT FOR THE JUNK Do you think all opening price-point sup- pliers are the same? Wrong! Regent Products Corp. has been serving its glob- al customer base for more than 30 years, providing "Exceptional Products, Service and Value since 1985." Think about it. Supplier "A" offers great packaging, but little quality or value in the item to the customer, while Supplier "B" offers larger items, quality and value at the same or better opening price-point. What sells better and what will customers buy? The answer is sim- ple. Opening-price-point merchandise is alive and well and is often given a back seat by retailers because it crosses over many categories and buyers. Dollar/Value merchandise drives sales and creates impulse purchases which adds to the bottom line. Watch out for the all in one inclusive programs, especially those that offer a dropped pallet program. Yes, it's neat and easy to set up at store level, but in reality the quality of the product suffers and ulti- mately puts a bad taste in the mouths of customers. Don't be duped by flashy packaging and small items. Pay attention to the size and quality. "It's the worst thing a retailer could do," says Ken Soens, Sales Manager at Regent Products Corp. "If an item looks great but doesn't function, the customer has been cheated and that creates a poor image about that retailer in the customers mind." Buyers at Regent Products Corp. have worked hard developing a time test- ed line of quality items in open stock, PDQ's, floor displays and merchandise strips. In addition to continu- ity items, Regent Products also sell closeouts. See the difference for yourself and visit Regent Products Corp in its new booth location at the show. There is a difference in suppliers. Visit Regent Products Corp. at booth #7724 in the North Hall. For more infor- mation, go to www.regentproducts.com. BERATEK SLOW COOKER MAKES TRANSPORTING HOT FOOD EASY BeraTek Industries has simplified the task of transporting food with the inven- tion of the first single handle slow cook- er, the Hold & Go ® Slow Cooker. The Hold & Go is an ultra-portable five-quart slow cooker with an innovative single handle allowing it to be carried with one hand while on the go. The single handle locks and seals the lid in place making the Hold & Go Slow Cooker spill-free. The handle doubles as a convenient place to prop the lid while serving, and also keeps condensation from dripping all over the counter. Inventor and BeraTek founder, Gerald Beranek, says, "The Hold & Go Slower Cooker is the revolutionary solu- tion for taking food to tailgating parties, family get-togethers and other events. The Hold & Go was recently featured on the Rachael Ray show and Rachael said it was 'the coolest slow cooker I have ever seen in my life!' She loves the conven- ience of this slow cooker for transporting food to family gatherings." Unlike other slow cookers on the market, the Hold & Go Slow Cooker allows you to safely and conveniently carry hot food, while keeping your other hand free to open doors and trunks or carry addition- al items. The reinforced, easy grip handle has been tested to hold up to 60 pounds (27 kg). The spill-free locking lid prevents spills dur- ing transit, eliminating those unwanted messes in the car. The Hold and Go is the only slow cooker on the market featuring a single handle, locking lid and a space saving lid holder all in one appliance (no extra accessories needed). Available in red or silver, the five- quart Hold & Go Slow Cooker features three settings including high, low and warm. The Hold & Go Slow Cooker is currently available at www.holdandgo.com and retails for $59.99. COOL SHAPES THAT COOL DRINKS FAST The hottest new gadget to cool beverages is the "ice block" mold from Lekue that freezes individual, oversized ice cubes. Lékué presents two ice block shapes: a diamond and a sphere. Made of plat- inum silicone, the sphere ice block mold looks like a golf ball. The frozen sphere, when unmolded, maintains the dimpled texture of a real golf ball. The diamond- shaped ice block adds a little glamour to a cocktail or mocktail. Both ice blocks drop the temperature of a cocktail in seconds. The molds can even be filled with flavored waters and herbs to spice up beverages, and the leak-proof stopper prevents contents from spilling in the freezer. The ice block molds retail for $9 for one or $15 for a set of two. For more information, call 302.326.4805 or go to www.lekueusa.com.
