Thanks to Starfrit's The Rock innovative Rock.Tec surface enhancement process, you don't have to. Rock.Tec is Starfrit's unique, patent- ed surface treatment found exclusively on the Rock cookware collections. It cre- ates a high-performance, low-mainte- nance non-stick cookware surface that combines the best qualities of all of the other types of cookware into one afford- able package. Here's how it works: tiny metal pel- lets are projected against the surface of the pan. As they impact the metal, a dim- pled texture forms on the surface of the cookware that hardens into a rock-like finish. This permanent surface enhance- ment gives your cookware continued durability, better non-stick capabilities and increased corrosion resistance. When you're cooking, the dimpled texture creates micro air pockets between the pan and your food that results in a natural non-stick release that's three times better than tra- ditional non-stick coatings. Cleanup is easy – all you need to do is give it a quick wipe. Plus, it offers you all the benefits of stainless steel and cast iron cookware: it's tough enough to withstand high heat, and its scratch-resistant surface is safe for metal utensils. Unlike other speckled non-stick pans, which are coated with paint that can scratch off if you use metal utensils, you can feel the difference created by Starfrit's Rock.Tec technology just by touching the inside bottom of the pan. The permanent fin- ish, which is similar to the texture of an orange peel, won't wear off. While traditional non-stick cookware could be dangerous when exposed to high heats, pans treated with Starfrit's Rock.Tec technology are safe in the oven up to a broil. When you're ready to enhance your cooking experience, all you need to do is upgrade your cookware. The Rock by Starfrit. Nothing sticks. Never warps. Lasts longer. Visit Starfrit at booth #S462. Her product line reflects that: from merchandising pro- grams designed to tell a product story to packaging that's designed to help retailers sell the popcorn category to gift sets that will help families create their own stories. "The best popcorn is grown in the heartland, which is where all of our pop- corns come from," she says. "Our pop- corns are all about that good, tender, fluffy piece of popcorn. Our popcorn is not about how big we can get it – it's about how we get a really good piece of popcorn. The gift sets follow along with that – they're gift sets that make the giver feel good because they're giving some- thing that they know is really good." Wabash Valley Farms is debuting its new Movie Night gift set this year. "It has cool new packaging with everything you need for a movie night party: the popcorn, toppings, candies, peanuts, a bowl. It's all ready to give in a very unique, attractive package," Paluchniak says. This year's product introductions also include new popcorn tubs with 3D-style imagery on the sides. "They're very cool and interactive for customers will want to pick them up and play with them," Paluchniak says. Expect to see gift sets based around those new tubs this year, too. For customers who are fond of the urban rustic, city-meets-country aesthetic that's sweeping the country this year, Wabash Valley Farms offers a gift set to match, with a miniature crate that nestles little burlap bags filled with different varieties of popcorn: red, blue and yellow. Also new this year is a line of new bowls, including a jumbo-size disposable popcorn tub. The tub comes folded flat in the package so that it can just be unfolded for serv- ing, and then after the party, there's no clean-up. It comes in a party pack with four single-serv- ing size bowls that similarly unfold for serving and then go into the trash can later. "It works great for parties!" Paluchniak says. Wabash Valley Farms is also intro- ducing new packaging for its regular line of red, blue, yellow, white and medley (a mixture of the various varieties) popping kernels that Paluchniak promises will help retailers merchandise the products on their shelves. "Whatever they're building, we can help them find a fit for that," she says. For health-conscious customers, Wabash Valley Farms is debuting its Organic Popcorn Popping Kit, which includes organic popcorn and organic coconut oil with all-natural sea salt for sea- soning. Just cut the package open and dump it all into the popper together, and in three minutes, you have a healthy, deli- cious vegan snack with only 43 calories per cup. The popcorn checks off all the boxes that health-conscious consumers are looking for: there are no GMOs, no trans-fats, no cholesterol, no peanuts, no additives, no preser- vatives and no gluten. The pop- corn in the kit are non-GMO white popping corn, especially chosen because it pops up more tender than the traditional yellow varieties. There are three new seasonings to sprinkle on top: Dill- icious Pickle, Fiery Hot Thai and Bring Home the Bacon. They'll all be in the sea- sonings bar that will be set up in Wabash Valley Farms' new booth for visitors to try on a freshly popped popcorn snack. "At our booth we're always popping and demonstrating the popper and we'll have the seasoning bar set up so everyone can try the new seasonings," Paluchniak says. SPARQ HOME INTRODUCES SOAPSTONE BEER FLIGHT The team at SPARQ Home has launched a product that pushes the boundaries for the commonly anticipat- ed soapstone products – a beer flight. The Soapstone Beer Flight will include four five-ounce glasses, allowing the customer to serve their beer in true pub style. The glasses will come on a cus- tom cut soapstone serving board that features live edges, giving it a rustic spin to the modern gray color scheme. The soapstone comes from recycled remnants, making this piece made in the U.S.A. "Beer is especially popular right now with the trend of not only home brew kits being sold in stores but with the popularity growing of macro and micro- breweries popping up all over our home office's city of Denver," explained Marketing Coordinator Kate Naylor. "We urge our customers to support their local breweries by buying beer from them and sampling them with friends and family with our beer flight." Bryan Leavelle, Co-Owner of Denver brewery Our Mutual Friend Malt & Brewery, explained that beer flights are not only a fun way to allow a new customer to survey the types of beer they serve, but it also can provide an opportunity to learn more about each brewing process. "There are more types of beer than just IPA and Stout and by using a sampler like a beer flight, this gives the customer a chance to take note of tastes and smells." SPARQ hopes this item will not only be an ideal gift for the craft beer lover, but for wedding and holi- day gifts. "In the past, we've kept the focus on liquor and wine – shot glasses for vodka, tequila, decanters for whiskey, wine accessories. We are excited about expanding to beer and hopefully coming up with a whole line of beer accessories to add to the beer flight," explained SPARQ designer Adam Feist. Visit SPARQ Home at booth #N8519.
