CREATIVE MINES BRINGS PASSION, CREATIVITY TO MASONRY VENEER MARKET When it comes to masonry veneer, builders want a company experienced at collaborating with the building and archi- tectural communities, where new con- cepts excite, and combine with decades of experience to yield the perfect product made with superior materials and indus- try-leading technology. Creative Mines, based in Encinitas, Calif., combines expertise, creativity and exceptional materials into a complete package. Great builders will tell you it starts with the materials, and Creative Mines' products are manufactured near the world's purest source of pumice. Using recently rediscovered science, the process combines pure white, natural pumice pozzolan with 70 percent post- industrial content and other proprietary ingredients. Builders get products that are crafted to aesthetically and technical- ly outperform the competition, without the use of smokestack fly ash. Whether a traditional or a more con- temporary design, the company offers a constantly evolving variety of products that meet every exterior cladding need. While much goes into the development of each product, the end result perfectly suits the authenticity of age-old tradi- tional building stone, or the more contemporary archi- tectural style evolv- ing currently. With the modern architect's rallying cry sug- gesting that "less is more," Creative Mines' handcrafted Contemporary prod- uct line tends to be topographically smoother, modular and tinted more monochromatically than the company's traditional craft stone. "When you create an environment for yourself or your client, you want only the most authentic veneer products," explained Mike Lewis, President at Creative Mines. "If it is your office, your home, your space, the last thing you want is for it to look like Disneyland." Creative Mines artisans painstakingly select the most beautiful stone for every profile; colors found in natural settings are integrally hand- applied in a way that invites the mixing of color blends. "This process creates a ver- satile palette other stone producers sim- ply do not offer," Lewis explained. More than its raw materials, creativ- ity and technical know-how, Creative Mines relies on the enthusiasm of its team. With decades of experience in the industry, the company's innovators bring a true passion for masonry veneer to every new product and application. The company's perfect blend of experience, knowledge, youth and energy brings per- fect products to builders nationwide. HAIER DEBUTS UBOT THE INTELLIGENT HOUSEKEEPER ROBOT Haier unveiled its signature creation -- Ubot the intelligent robot -- for the first time anywhere in the exhibition area for home appliances at the 2016 CES. Haier also unveiled its seven U+ ecosystems, including food, air, water, washing and cleaning. At the center of the current smart home scenario is a master control panel powered by a core information processor scheduled to activate and operate each piece of household equipment. In a com- puter, this is the function assumed by the CPU, while in Haier's U+ world, a larger and more complex system is needed, and this is where Ubot comes in and assumes this function. Within the household, with Ubot at the controls, commands can be issued to Haier's U+ smart ecosystems so that they can operate interactively, pro- viding an "all-in one" home management system household. Under Ubot's command, Haier pro- vides intelligent life solutions for the seven U+ ecosystems. Refrigerators under the management of Haier's smart food ecosystem, led by Haier's BCD smart window refrigerator provide food management, sterilization, cooking and wine storage in addition to other food preparation and handling solutions. Users can execute the laundry handling pro- gram and monitor the wash and dry process remotely through the washing and cleaning ecosystem. The network- enabled smart mirror that is part of the water ecosystem provides remote moni- toring of the futuristic bathroom space. At the CES, Haier set up three small model living spaces, including the Small Living Space to demonstrate what it means to live smartly in a small apart- ment, a Traditional Suite to show what a smart kitchen can deliver and an Entertainment Space for what the future of a home entertainment theater might look like. These sample spaces are exam- ples of Haier's complete solutions for dif- ferent living spaces. Ultimately, what Haier delivers are a wide variety of solu- tions for creating your own personalized and unique lifestyle.
