When installed correct- ly, the FutureFlash Waterproofing System seals effectively, yet will not trap or pro- mote moisture buildup inside the wall cavity. This helps eliminate the occur- rence of wood rot, warping and particu- larly the growth of potentially toxic molds. FutureFlash, a patent-protected prod- MFM (Cont'd. from p. 4) uct, is for window and door flashing, pre- vents leaks, separates dissimilar metals to prevent corrosion, makes beams and posts impervious to water and works great for pre-lining all metal transitions. The product meets all Uniform Building Code Section 1 707(b) requirements and is tested to AC148 and ICC-ES ESR 2783 report. ICC-ES PMG APPROVED BY EPA TO CERTIFY FLUSHOMETER-VALVE WATER CLOSETS The ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) Plumbing, Mechanical and Fuel Gas (PMG) Listing Program has been approved as a licensed certifier of Flushometer-Valve Water Closets. This approval was granted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under its WaterSense program that is designed to help save water and the envi- ronment. "This recently added scope gives ICC-ES PMG a complete set of capabili- ties for all EPA WaterSense specifica- tions," said Dawn LaFleur-Qualley, Program Director. "With this approval, ICC-ES, the industry's leading product evaluation and listing company, gives plumbing manufacturers the best choice for their certification needs." The ICC-ES PMG program offers a full range of certification activities for both the United States and Canada. ICC- ES PMG can certify products to AB1953, NSF/ANSI 372, S.3874 (Federal Law for Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water) and the requirements of WaterSense. The Flushometer-Valve Water Closets certifi- cation, like other WaterSense certifica- tions conducted by ICC- ES- PMG, is free of charge as long as the client has a listing for that product to the performance standard. The WaterSense speci- fication for Flushometer- Valve Water Closets is available on the WaterSense website. Manufacturers and distributors who pro- duce or sell these products are eligible for certification. A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States' leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and sys- tems. ICC-ES Evaluation Reports, Building Product Listings and PMG Listings provide evidence that products and systems meet requirements of codes and technical standards. The ICC-ES Environmental Programs issue VAR environmental reports that verify a product meets spe- cific sustainability targets defined by today's codes, standards, green rating systems and ICC-ES envi- ronmental criteria. The Environmental Programs now offer Environmental Product Declarations to meet global market demand for science-based, transparent, quality-assured information about a product's environmental performance. ICC-ES is a member of the ICC Family of Companies. For more information, visit booth #C8931 at the International Builders Show and booth #N2671 at the Kitchen Bath Industry Show. AWARD-WINNING NOISE CONTROL PRODUCTS FROM ACOUSTIBLOK Acoustiblok Inc., a NASA Spinoff list- ed company, provides acoustical soundproofing solutions for all types of noise control issues. The company develops, manufactures and markets sound control products around the world, earning the industry's highest ratings from architects, builders and consumers, including the top award in the British House of Commons regard- ing sound abatement. Considered green products, Acoustiblok's products have proven benefits in industry, health and medicine, transportation, public safety, consumer goods, energy and the envi- ronment. The UL/ULC-Classified Acousti- blok material is truly a unique sound- proofing material which has taken years to develop. Just one thin 1/8 inch layer of Acoustiblok in a standard stud wall can reduce more sound than eight inches of poured concrete. The soft flexible material is 4.5 feet wide and is available in 30, 60 or 350 foot rolls, which is usually stapled or screwed to studs before drywall. It is a proprietary formula, barium free, heavy mineral filled, viscoelastic polymer which is easily cut with a utility knife. While other materials attempt to block or absorb sound, Acoustiblok does neither. As the heavy, limp Acoustiblok material vibrates from the sound, it actually transforms the acoustical energy into inaudible inter- nal friction energy in a process some- times referred to as isothermal adiabat- ic. Lead, previously considered the best soundproofing, works on precisely the same basis and has exactly the same STC rating. Acoustiblok can be installed on studs before attaching drywall to reduce noise between rooms, over floor joists before the sub floor is attached to reduce the sound from walking (impact noise) as well as the noise created in the room, on roof trusses to reduce noise from low flying airplanes or busy highways, around plumbing pipes to quiet the sound of running water or in home theaters and multi-functional A/V type entertainment rooms. In multi-family units, such as con- dominiums and apartment complexes, a leading cause of tenant relocation is noise. The problem of sound attenua- tion in these types of buildings is rarely addressed properly. By installing Acoustiblok over the studs, ceiling and floor joists, sound can be effectively stopped before it vibrates the structure. Primary products include Acoustiblok viscoelastic polymer based soundproofing material, Acoustifence ® outdoor acoustical fence, All Weather Sound Panels ® , QuietFiber ® insulat- ing material, Quiet- C l o u d ® i n d u s t r i a l sound absorption panels, and A c o u s t i b l o k Wallcover ® post- construction noise solution. The company's products are all made and sourced in the United States. Acoustiblok Inc. ships products to more than 50 countries through a net- work of stocking distributors in the United States, and on five continents across the globe. Acoustiblok Inc. is exhibiting and demonstrating the company's line of certified and lab tested acoustical soundproofing products at booth #C8919 at the 2016 International Builder's Show.
