A f t e r m a r k e t D a i l y N e w s Tu e s d a y, N o v e m b e r 3 , 2 0 1 5 1 0 0 NS: We represent a diagnostic tool designed and manufactured in Italy by Giovanni Accinni S.R.L. The Leonardo diagnostic tool is a dealer-level tool designed to diagnose the complete car, such as engine, transmission, ABS and suspension, and allows for coding and adaptation of control units. This offers independent workshops around the world a dealer-level diagnostic tool for their day- to-day business to repair Ferraris, Maseratis and Lamborghinis and other high-line exotic cars. The Leonardo diag- nostic tool is also used by many dealer- ships to diagnose and help repair their pre- owned vehicles before they go for resale. This year for SEMA, we are intro- ducing new tuning software for high-end exotics. This will allow us to flash tune the control modules for improved horse- power and torque. ADN: What are the costs involved? NS: We offer terms up to 60 months on these products, with approved credit, that allows purchase of these tools on a monthly payment plan. You can also buy Leonardo Diagnostic Tools (Cont'd. from p. 1) the software in stages, adding software bundles for specific product lines as you need them. For instance, if you get the ini- tial hardware and the software for Ferrari/Maserati now, but then later you'd like to add the Lamborghini software to expand your business, you can do that. You don't have to buy all of it at one time. This product sells itself once people know about it. In the Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini market, this has become a standard of the industry for independent workshops. ADN: What's going on for Leonardo Diagnostic Tools during SEMA? NS: We are doing two clinics this week. We will be demonstrating the tool on Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and German models. Clinics will be at Speedway Sports Cars LLC, 6867 Speedway Blvd. #R101, Las Vegas 89115 on Tuesday November 3rd 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Thursday November 5th 7:00 pm to 10pm. Contact us to reg- ister ahead or just come by. For more information, visit www.leonardo diagnostictool.com. WA: We've been racing since 2003 and started competing in Time Attack during the 2012 season. Time Attack is a real adrenaline rush — a race against the clock in highly modified production cars. In 2014, our EFR™-equipped Acura RSX won the Global Time Attack Pro Championship in the Limited Class and set the current Limited FWD track record at the SuperLap Battle at Buttonwillow. ADN: For the 2015 season, you added a Honda Civic Si to your lineup. As a brand new build, what was the most sig- nificant aspect of your design? WA: We were amazed at the power and responsiveness of the BorgWarner EFR (Engineered For Racing) turbocharger on our championship-winning Acura RSX. As part of BorgWarner's Race Program, we had one of the first EFR-9174 test samples. With its high power output and incredibly fast spool, we literally designed our new Civic Si around this turbocharger. I'm happy to say it delivers amazing performance with our Honda K24 engine. ADN: How do BorgWarner's EFR tur- bochargers give you a competitive advantage? WA: From my experience, the greatest advantage is the transient response: how fast the turbo responds when you get on and off of the gas. In a road course envi- ronment, lots of little adjustments are required throughout a corner to maximize speed. EFR turbochargers, with their Gamma-Ti turbine wheels, have amazing- ly fast response to throttle changes. ADN: How much horsepower does the BorgWarner (Cont'd. from p. 1) new Honda Civic Si achieve? WA: Currently, our Civic is making 660 hp and 480 ft/lbs of torque at a mere 18 psi. It makes over 420 ft/lbs between 4,200 and 8,000 rpm. It's incredible how fast this car pulls on the track! ADN: What would you say is the most valuable feature of BorgWarner's EFR turbochargers? WA: The EFR line offers an integrated solution. No external waste gates, blow- off valves or boost control solenoids are required. They're built right into the tur- bocharger. Because we fabricate our own manifold and downpipe in house, it saves additional work and plumbing. Other innovative options, such as a built-in V- band compressor outlet, pre-drilled speed sensor port and stainless turbine housing, really separate EFR turbochargers from the competition. ADN: How is the season going? WA: At our first competitive event with the new Civic Si at Global Time Attack Road Atlanta, we finished first in the Unlimited FWD Class, setting the fastest FWD time of the weekend. We followed up with another Unlimited FWD win at GridLife's event at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan. We'll be heading to Global Time Attack's SuperLap Battle just after SEMA, the event we won last year in the Limited FWD class in our EFR-boosted RSX. Our goal is to repeat the win, this time in the Top Unlimited FWD category. Visit BorgWarner in booth #21643. While few con- sumers have their tire pressure adjusted every month, tire inflation maintenance is still, by far, the number-one requested automobile service and the number-one reason a consumer visits an automobile service business. No other service comes close. NitroFill's new Tire Inflation Maintenance Program is the latest ver- sion of its extraordinarily effective cus- tomer retention solution. Combined with its inflation gas and program benefits, the program leverages this monthly mainte- nance need into customer traffic and loy- alty. The logic is simple: inflate a cus- tomer's tires with air and they can be serviced anywhere. Inflate them with something other than air, and so long as that customer knows their tires are filled with something different, they are much more likely to return to the source of that gas when they need their tire pressure adjusted. Inflate their tires with a medium that increas- es fuel economy, tire life and safety, and the odds that they will return increase even more. Keep customers coming back by combining this medi- um with an array of free customer ben- efits, such as tire repair and replace- ment coverage, roadside assistance and more. Customers will also be more likely to return if you utilize text messages, e-mails and Facebook to send automated monthly inflation reminders, service coupons, online NitroFill (Cont'd. from p. 1) review solicitations, interactive cus- tomer surveys and more. Add a cus- tomer management platform that tracks the wear of each customer's tires and provides an array of addi- tional communication and reporting features, and you have effectively bonded your customers to your busi- ness. Why would you want to flood your service drive with customers who only want their tire pressure checked? Because Tire Inflation Maintenance is the holy grail of tire sales. According to industry studies, an incredible 78 percent of consumers purchase their replacement tires from the first car care professional that informs them of the need. If your customers are routinely returning to your shop for their tire pressure needs, your staff will always be the first to inform them when they need new tires and, 78 percent of the time, make the sale. NitroFill customers don't just return to your business more often — typically four times more often than non-NitroFill customers — they return with the expec- tation that your staff is going to inspect their tires. There's more: Don't let your staff forget that each time a NitroFill customer returns for a regular tire check, they should bring their entire vehicle with them. What better time to check their oil change sticker, odometer and service records? Visit NitroFill at booth #42197. The CarCaddy Vehicle Puller is designed for automotive and truck repair centers, car dealers, body shops, manu- facturers, auto museums, auctions and government highway service organiza- tions. The most common applications that require a CarCaddy Vehicle Puller is the pulling of a stalled or non-operable vehi- cle in and out of a service center, the moving of a vehicle on a dealership show room floor or an auction house or muse- um, or at the end of an auto production line. The unit's power, size, maneuver- ability and price tag make it an extreme- ly attractive solution compared to alter- DJ Products (Cont'd. from p. 1) native methods of moving wheeled vehi- cles in tight and confined areas. The CarCaddy Vehicle Puller has many unique features over other meth- ods to relocate vehicles, including its hydraulic roller rams that effortlessly pull any two wheels of a vehicle up a ramp, off the ground, so the powered CarCaddyVP tug can easily and safely turn and maneuver the vehicle without the wheels of the vehicle moving. This operation eliminates the cumbersome straps, hooks and brackets needed to lift and pull a vehicle, or the "bumping" of the vehicle from behind with rubber push pads.
