C o n v e n i e n c e R e t a i l e r S h o w D a i l y Tu e s d a y, O c t o b e r 1 3 , 2 0 1 5 4 CAR WASH IN THE C-STORE SPACE: U.S. AND GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES Rob Deal, Vice President of Corporate and International Sales of Innovative Control Systems ® , is excited about the future of car wash in the convenience store and fuel retailing space. "When you think about it, adding a car wash to your c-store customer experi- ence mix can be a natural fit," says Deal. "The cross marketing opportunities to get people into your store, to your fuel pumps and through the car wash are exceptional. The profit margins from the car wash can be very attractive to c-store operators." Deal understands those opportuni- ties. He manages customer relationships with a number of c-store businesses that operate unattended car washes at their c- store sites. "ICS works with Circle K, Splash In, MotoMart and others in the United States. They find the value propo- sition and the incremental margins to be helpful to their bottom lines." Integrating unattended car washes in c-stores is not just a U.S. phenomenon. "ICS is active on a global scale as well," says Deal. "We market in other countries, including Canada, Australia and Germany, and are attracting interest from other c-store and Petro operators around the world." Deal explains why ICS is also popular outside of the U.S. "Australia, Germany and Canada have already experienced the merchant liability shift and are operating in a Chip and PIN and Touch and Pay payment terminal environment. Our unattended Auto Sentry Petro terminals offer EMV and validated point-to-point encryption PCI-compliant solutions to keep customer card data secure. Our PML2 NEW FROM SLOANLED New from SloanLED, PML2 builds on the foundation of the popular PML pole- mount light, and is the first in a family of next generation luminaires for gas stations, c-stores, drive-thrus and parking lots. This first PML2 provides 10,000 lm at an incredible 100 lm/W, making it one of the most energy efficient pole lights available. With a color temperature of 5000 degrees Kelvin and a color rendering index in excess of 80, PML2 illuminates the area with a crisp, white light and creates a night- time scene where the true color of objects shine. Its Type III distribution places light exactly where it is needed. Other distribu- tion patterns are planned to follow soon. PML2 is designed to mount to almost all poles found in use today, and with the versatile knuckle joint accesso- ry, the luminaire offers an unparalleled range of adjustment for unique installa- tions. PML2 will soon be offered with options for controls that will provide automated dimming and allow continued use in CA Title 24 compliant installations based on an integrated motion sensor and dimming controller that together see and react to the movements of customers as they approach and leave the area. The control system will be quick and simple to install, with no instructions to read, no setup process to follow, no apps to down- load. The system will just work. Available in black, white, bronze and silver color finishes, PML2 is designed to withstand the worst the weather can throw at it, and is backed by SloanLED's five-year warranty. It will also be submitted to the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) for them to add to their Qualified Products List (QPL), allowing you to benefit from any utility rebates available for converting your existing pole lights to LED.
