The family offers a range of light outputs via an ingenious connector placed between the driver and the light, offering up to 13,750 lm output at 125W – 110 lm/W, making it one of the most energy effi- cient canopy lights available today. This is the right choice for canopy lighting for gas stations, truck stops, drive-ups and drive-thrus. With a color temperature of 5000 degrees Kelvin and a color rendering index in excess of 80, PDL3 illuminates the area under the canopy and bathes the pumps with a crisp, white light and cre- ates a nighttime scene where the true color of objects shine. Its Type V sym- metrical distribution creates a very uni- form spread of light, eliminating shad- ows. PDL3 is incredibly thin, just 1 inch, and its flat backplate is designed to achieve maximum contact with the canopy decking to allow optimal heat transfer away from the LEDs. The sepa- rate junction box for the driver separates the two heat sources – driver and LEDs – minimizing stress and maximizing life. Furthermore, if serv- icing of the electrical components is required, this can be done on top of the canopy without the need to close a pump lane and risk a loss of business. PDL3 can be complemented with an automated dimming control option meeting the needs of CA Title 24 com- pliant installations based on an integrat- ed motion sensor and dimming con- troller that together see and react to the movements of customers as they approach and leave the area. The dim- ming controllers for each light can be inter-connected, allowing the system to communicate and the lights to dim up and down together. The control system is quick and simple to install with no instructions to read, no setup process to follow, no apps to down- load. The system just works. Available in white color finishes with the option of a clear or textured lens, PDL3 is designed to withstand the rigors of life in a fast-paced canopy environ- ment. It is backed by SloanLED's five- year warranty. It is on the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) Qualified Products List (QPL), allowing you to benefit from any utility rebates available for convert- ing your existing canopy lights to LED. C-STORES, CAR WASHES, EMV AND PCI-COMPLIANCE By Nicholas Tylenda, Director of Strategic Business Development for Innovative Control Systems ® , resident expert on EMV and PCI-Compliance. C-store operators compete in a demand- ing marketplace. A growing number are installing car washes at appropriate c- store sites. A car wash can be a source of incremental profits, provide a robust cross marketing platform to get cus- tomers into the store, to the pumps and through the car wash. It is also an addi- tional touch point for customer service and retention. There is a bit of a wrinkle, however, for c-stores with unattended car washes that accept credit cards for payment. As most operators are aware, adop- tion of EMV at fuel pumps is a non-issue until October 1, 2017. What some don't realize is credit card acceptance at the car wash and even in the c-store itself is affected this year. Credit card acceptance on anything other than a fuel dispenser or an ATM is subject to a shift in liability to you, the merchant, for fraudulent transac- tions and counterfeit card use, effective October 1, 2015. Installation of credit card terminals that are both EMV- enabled and validated by the PCI council as a point- to-point encryption solu- tion (VP2PE) is one of the strongest security measures you can take to secure your site. These payment terminals virtually eliminate card fraud at the point-of-inter- action and protect the merchants using them from liability of fraudulent use and counterfeit cards. The cardholder data is secured by the PCI validated point-to- point encryption as it moves from the payment terminal to the processor. This critical space is the easiest place for hackers to target. But if that data is made worthless by encryption, hackers are forced to look elsewhere for easier prey. This validated point-to-point encryption solution also reduces the complexities and costs associated with achieving and maintaining PCI compliant status. The fallout from recent credit card data breaches underline the crucial importance of securing credit card data throughout the entire transaction process. Don't be misled; you generally only hear about the big-box stores in the news, but 80 percent of breaches occur in small and mid-sized businesses. ICS can deliver a fully EMV-enabled and VP2PE solution to help you avoid being part of this anonymous group of victims. INCREASE SALES, IMPROVE PROFITABILITY WITH CHEWBLET ICE Independent surveys have shown that consumers prefer Chewblet ® ice two to one over cube ice. In fact, 55 percent of those surveyed said they would buy more fountain drinks at a store that offers Chewblet ice, and 40 percent would drive out of their way to get Chewblet ice. Want more proof? Lone Star Food Stores saw a 25 percent increase in bev- erage sales when they installed Chewblet ice machines in their fountain stations. You can see how your top line can grow with Follett ® . Follett nugget ice machines are vir- tually maintenance free. Just a deep cleaning every six months and periodic condenser coil cleaning are all that's required, and can be performed by in- store personnel. Say goodbye to hiring outside servicers for bearing checks and cleaning. What's more, only Follett offers ice- through-a-tube technology that allows dispensers to be automatically filled without the ice machine on top. With the ice machine in the back room, you'll cre- ate an attractive, upscale fountain station. More importantly, you'll eliminate the costly expense of remov- ing the ice machine to clean the dispenser, saving you even more on periodic main- tenance expenses. Visit Follett booth #5979 to see a demo of how ice-through- a-tube technology works. You can also try out the company's Ice Pro™ dispens- ing bin to see how easy it is to bag your own ice. Rather than paying $1 or more for bagged ice, use Ice Pro to bag it your- self for about $0.25 a bag and move that profit to your bottom line instead of giv- ing it away to your bagged ice vendor. If you're taking advantage of the iced coffee trend, Follett makes it easy to offer ice. Instead of making your customers go to the fountain area to get ice, and then back to the coffee bar to fill their cup, install a 15 Series ice dispenser right next to the coffee station. At less than 15 inches wide, this drainless unit can fit almost anywhere. Your customers will appreciate the convenience. Visit Follett at booth #5979. BELL PLANTATION PB2: THE ORIGINAL POWDERED PEANUT BUTTER Bell Plantation Chief Executive Officer JC Bell never set out to start a trend, but start a trend he did when his answer to a large surplus of stored peanuts, PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter, began to make waves in the food industry. Today, PB2 leads the way in the latest trend in nut butters: powdered peanut butter. Powdered peanut butter is a lower fat alternative to traditional peanut butters and is made by squeezing the fats from slow roasted peanuts. The resulting peanut powder is mixed with a small amount of sugar and a dash of salt to deliver the rich nutty taste of peanut butter with 85 per- cent fewer calories from fat. PB2 can be mixed with water or fruit juice to make a spread for toast or waf- fles. Chefs love how easy PB2 is to mix into recipes and baked goods. Athletes love that PB2 allows them to have the protein, folate, niacin and vitamin E of peanut butter with a lower fat and calorie count. Bell Plantation PB2 is also a favorite among campers and hikers as a lighter weight way to carry peanut butter on long trips. Following the success of PB2, Bell Plantation introduced Chocolate PB2. Chocolate PB2 adds the lusciousness of premium chocolate to its original powdered peanut butter. Chocolate PB2 only tastes sinful, though, as it is just as healthful as the original PB2. Bell Plantation PB2 and Chocolate PB2 are available in 6.5 and 16 ounce jars as well as a case of individual 24- gram serving packets. PB2 Banana Oatmeal ½ Cup Old Fashioned Oats 1 Cup Water or Milk Dash of Salt 1 Banana 2 T PB2 Original or Chocolate Place the oats, water (or milk) and salt in a small saucepan and heat on high until the water begins to boil. Lower heat to simmer. In a separate bowl, mash half the banana. Mix in the PB2. When the oats are finished cooking, stir in the mashed banana and PB2 mix- ture until well mixed. Add sweetener if desired. Garnish with the remaining banana and enjoy! Visit Bell Plantation at booth #772 or online at www.bellplantation.com.
