Awards were presented to housewares suppliers for innovative products, to internationally known suppliers of cutting-edge designed products and to international retailers that have demonstrated excellence in housewares retailing. Organizza of Argentina was awarded the Martin M. Pegler Award for Excellence in Visual Merchandising. The competition for the gia Global Honorees program evaluated retailers on their overall mission statement, vision and strategy; store design and layout; visual merchandising, displays and window displays; marketing, advertising and promotions; customer service and staff training and innovation. They were selected by a jury consisting of four retail/visual merchandising experts and seven editors and publishers of co-sponsoring housewares trade publications from around the world. Three internationally known suppliers of cutting-edge designed products won gia Global Innovation Awards at the 2015 IH+HS. Maybe you've never heard of it. It's an unexpected place to find international chefs making it a travel destination just to share their culinary expertise, but the husband and wife team behind the store have made it exactly Ginger's Kitchenware: Central Oregon Small Town Culinary Oasis Las Vegas Market Forges Retail Partnership With Gourmet Catalog For C11 Launch that. Bend has become a tourist destination in the last 10 years, attracting outdoor enthusiasts for activities like skiing, cycling and fly fishing, as well as attracting professional athletes to the central Oregon region for training purposes. The couple Las Vegas Market announced that a first-ever partnership with Gourmet Catalog Buying Group has been forged to support the launch of the new C11 showroom floor dedicated to gourmet housewares, tabletop and specialty food lines, at the Summer 2015 Las Vegas Market, August 2 to August 6, 2015. "Las Vegas Market is delighted to be working with Gourmet Catalog to develop exclusive and individualized at-Market activities for its Western members," said Dorothy Belshaw, President of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers. "Janis Johnson is a thought leader in the gourmet housewares industry, and we anticipate that her early advocacy for Las Vegas Market's gourmet category extension will help us to exponentially develop our overall specialty gourmet retailer attendance. This pioneering partnership is a win-win for buyers and suppliers, further establishing Las Vegas Market as the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States." Since its launch in 1981, Gourmet Catalog Buying Group has existed to serve the needs of independent retailers. Today, the organization represents some 344 retail locations nationwide and partners with more than 200 vendors to offer merchandise discounts, freight allowances and special dating for its members. Gourmet Catalog's leadership is working with Las Vegas Market to develop specialized programs – involving a mix of networking and social events, customized market tours, personalized concierge services, buyer scholarships and dynamic educational opportunities – for its members attending the Natural Products Expo West/Engredea Shatters Attendance Record The 35th annual Natural Products Expo West (NPEW ), the world's largest natural, organic and healthy products event, took place March 4-8 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. The event grew 7.2 percent from the previous year, bringing together an inspired community of over 71,000 industry members, with more than 2,700 exhibiting companies, including 634 first-time exhibitors. The event is produced by New Hope Natural Media. Co-located with NPEW was Engredea, an event to source new ingredients, packaging, technologies, equipment, and services for cutting-edge products, and the Fresh Ideas Organic Marketplace, an innovative outdoor event that combines a traditional farmers' market feel with the business-building power of a trade show. Due to a robustly growing market for natural food and products, NPEW included expanded exhibit space and an extra, fourth day of exhibits this year. NEXT Forecast estimates the natural and organic products industry is expected to grow to $252 billion by 2019.
