Instead of wasting the remaining wine, use the VidaDoo™ Intelligent Wine Sealer. The intelligent wine sealer allows the wine to stay fresh for up to 10 days. The product is a true money saver. Suitable for almost all wine bottles, the Intelligent Wine Sealer works automatically and is operated with two AAA alkaline batteries. Once applied to the wine bottle, it pumps out the air from the wine bottle during 65 seconds. The auto-pressure sensor regulates the opti- mal pressure for the wine storage. The blue LED shows this process and after the vacuum process, indicates the tem- perature in Fahrenheit or Celsius to make sure the wine is served with the appropri- ate wine temperature. The Intelligent Wine Sealer also features an auto-tilt shut-off to prevent spills and a low bat- tery indicator, and is available in black and silver. ADVANCED OPTICS BECOMING A GAME-CHANGER IN PANORAMIC VIDEO SYSTEMS With the introduction of digital video cameras in the 1990s, panoramic imaging – the technique of using special camera equipment and software to produce wide- view photography – became increasingly popular with consumers and businesses for use in applications such as security and robotics. As much as these systems caught on, building them proved chal- lenging due to the technology limitations of the time. For one, the ability of 1990s processors to unwarp or stitch an image into panoramic form was limited. Sensor resolution was low, too, so after the sys- tem spread the available resolution out to cover 360 degrees, the resulting quality fell below user expectations. What's changed? Thankfully, there have been numerous technological advances in the industry. For starters, consumer cameras now have imaging chips (like film, just digital), that are up to 25 times HD resolution. Better tech- nology for cleaning up the images has resulted in more lifelike pictures. With these advances, there are few barriers to enter the market with a high resolution camera, as can be seen with the large number of "point of view" camera vendors at the show. Display technology, which is currently at 4K (four times HD) and band- width (4g), have also improved, but not at the same pace. Optics, the most critical part of any camera, still lag too; most wide angle cameras use fisheye lenses, a 100-year- old technology. Why are optics so important? Optics are the key to capturing great images. The lens in your camera determines the quality of the image it takes, independent of its megapixel rating. The optics in a high-end SLR camera aren't the same as Continued on Page 23 AN INDEPENDENT PUBLICATION NOT AFFILIATED WITH INTERNATIONAL CES ® Lee M.
