C l e a n i n g N e ws Th u r s d a y, N o ve m b e r 6 , 2 0 1 4 1 2 FR: R&B is a private manufacturing company based in southern California that still manufactures the majority of our products here in the U.S. That in and of itself is unique today. Secondly, we have great leadership and people all backed by our "Satisfaction Guarantee." Additionally, we have a broad prod- uct offering that few companies can match the breadth of, making us a cost- effective one-stop manufacturing source for any distributor in our markets. We are also unique that in the product design phase we are very sensitive in how we incorporate the knocked-down aspect of our products – really taking shipping in consideration as it is such an important component of cost. We have become a skilled and cost-effective partner from a shipping perspective, as many companies desire companies that can drop ship prod- ucts on their behalf rather than stocking large quantities, especially in the equip- ment area. CN: How does R&B sell its products? FR: R&B has chosen to sell through dis- tribution, and we feel that is the most effective way to get the national and international exposure necessary to grow and become well known. We try to make life simple for our distributors by manu- facturing quality products that they can rely on, backed by our "Satisfaction Guarantee." We serve many different market sectors and many products cross over several sectors, so there is no exclu- sivity. We also invest in technology to keep our distributors updated on the sta- R&B Wire ( Cont'd. from p. 1) tus of orders, making the order process simple and effective. In today's environ- ment it is critical that we can manufac- ture, process orders and provide cost- effective and timely delivery anywhere – and we do. That makes us a great manu- facturing partner! CN: Do you have anything new at this year's show? FR: We're always introducing new prod- ucts. Last year, we introduced an antimi- crobial liner option for our Vinyl Basket Truck line, and that has been received well this past year. This year, we have very exciting news, introducing the first com- plete top rim non-marking bumper system for our Fully Sewn Vinyl Basket Trucks. This product option is truly a game chang- er. We feel that this will catapult us in the vinyl truck line significantly. Our goal is to have market leading products in every market sector that we are in. In the coin laundry sector, we have been the market leader in manufacturing wire laundry carts from the company's start. In the healthcare sector, we have the broadest line of commercial healthcare hampers that exist. Our lines of vinyl basket trucks, poly trucks and garment racks are current product growth and focus areas for us. We hope that you can stop by our booth and see how our other products can generate new sales for your distribution company or provide value for you as an end user. Employees want to know that their role in the organization can help deliv- er better outcomes. Procedures should call out the need to clean and disinfect high touch surfaces on a daily basis. This includes surfaces such as door handles, hand rails, phones, keyboards, elevator buttons and restroom surfaces such as faucet handles, hand rails and toilets. 2. Implement Effective Tools, Chemicals and Machines Facility managers should assess the effectiveness of their current cleaning procedures, products and methods. There may be opportunities to intro- duce superior tools, chemicals and machines to reduce risks and labor. This includes a review of the disinfec- tants that are currently in use to ensure that they meet the facility's needs. For instance, it's critical that dis- infectants are matched to the task at hand. They should be effective, safe and sustainable. Some facilities do not use disinfectants widely and others only use low-level disinfectants, which are not capable of killing prob- lem viruses. Although intermediate- level disinfectants are more expensive than low-level disinfectants, they are effective against these viral pathogens of concern. Disinfectants that utilize Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) technology, such as Diversey Care's Oxivir ® line, prevent and remove a wide range of infections and microorganisms. AHP breaks down to water and oxygen during use, making it safer for employees and more sustainable. Preventing Infections ( Cont'd. from p. 1) 3. Measure Performance Although employees are trained to clean and disinfect, it's important to measure performance to determine if additional training is necessary. To val- idate that cleaning is performed at the desired level, facilities can use web- enabled auditing programs that track cleaning results and drive continuous improvement. 4. Encourage Hand Hygiene Employees and visitors will inevitably touch common surfaces throughout the facility during the day, which may become contaminated with pathogens. Keeping hands clean is an ideal way to prevent the spread of pathogens to surfaces and others. Making hand soap, sanitizer and paper towels available and using touch-free dispensers, trash cans and doors eliminates contact with high- touch surfaces. 5. Clean Year Round Regular cleaning is essential, regard- less of building occupancy during a particular season. Cleaning staff should continue to disinfect desks, door handles, phones and other high- touch surfaces. Although most facilities typically know where and what to clean, some do not have standardized programs in place for cleaning and disinfection. Organizations can overcome these challenges by fol- lowing infection prevention best prac- tices. For more information, go to www.diversey.com, visit booth #1501 or call 800-558-2332. THE EVOLUTION OF OIL MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS TAKES NEW TURN By Rodney Medina, Eco Reviews Envirotub, Inc., the southern California- based company, known worldwide for its Envirotub indoor grease storage product, has developed the first affordable all-in- one mobile restaurant oil management solution that filters oil, stores oil and can even re-fill deep fryers with fresh oil at the push of a button. Rarely does a new and innovative restaurant product come along that makes an immediate impact on the qual- ity of food, increase the ROI of a com- modity and improve employee safety. Any new product that offers such a dra- matic impact across so many aspects of operation is truly a game-changer. That's exactly what Envirotub envisions for its new oil management product. The units, available in two versions, the OMS-58 and the OMS-78 (which stands for Oil Management Solution and the respective gallon capacity of each unit), are portable, which allow them to be shuttled right to the fryer for employ- ee ease of use and safety. The unit inter- faces easily with the fryer drainpipe for a clean, no-mess transfer of oil into the onboard reservoir. At a push of a button, the oil is then processed through a four-stage filtration system. Debris is removed at a rate of just under six gallons per minute. Once the filtration process has been completed, the operator has three options: filter the oil again, return the filtered oil back into the fryer using the onboard wand or re- direct the oil into the onboard storage tank for disposal. All selections are made by a push of a button. The addition of a 'new oil' reservoir will be available for both the OMS-58 and OMS-78 models, enabling employees to fill the fryer with oil right out of the box. The stainless steel construction makes for a robust and easy way to keep the unit clean. Filters are easy to change and various components of the unit can be removed and washed in a commercial dishwasher for added convenience. The entire acquisition, filtration and refilling process is a closed loop system, allowing employees to easily and safely handle used fryer oil for re-use or dispos- al. By eliminating one of the most frus- trating and dangerous tasks in the restau- rant industry, employees are no longer at risk from oil related slips, falls and burns.
