A f te rm a rke t D a i l y N e ws 1 5 Th u r s d a y, N o ve m b e r 6 , 2 0 1 4 THE KOUL TOOLS FAMILY IS GROWING: INTRODUCING THE SURSEAT LINE LAPPING TOOL Koul Tools has been grinding and lap- ping its engine valves for 100 years. Why? So they don't leak. The same thing applies to your delicate flared-tubing fluid-transfer lines. Just tightening the fitting doesn't stop the leak. It sure is a pain to take it all back apart when you could get it right to begin with. Dick Raczuk, Owner of Koul Tools, is a hands-on guy who developed the SurSeat, a small lapping tool that's incredibly easy to use. Like the other Koul Tools designs, the SurSeat is simple in design but effective in function. Designed for 37- or 45-degree flares, a diamond dust imbedded tool is used to gently lap a flared tubing end and create a clean seat. "Every time we've used this tool, there's virtually 100 per- cent no leaks," said Dick. When you make the flare on hard tubing, there are always imperfections due to the spreading of the metal. With a few twists, the SurSeat laps and grinds the surface, smoothing out those irritating irregularities before assem- bling the fitting to assure a leak-free fit. Already have a leaky fitting? Clean it up with the SurSeat. This tool will help mechanics easily get a better seal on their delicate fluid transfer lines. The SurSeat is a great addition to the Koul Tools Push-On and AN Hose Assembly tools. Why fight with hose assembly the old way? Why let braided hose give you bloody fingertips? Get rid of the band-aids and frustra- tion at the same time. Visit KoulTools.com to watch instruction videos on hose assembly, the easy Koul Tools way. You'll also enjoy Dick's Shop Tips, great tidbits gathered from years of expe- rience. For more information, stop by booth #33273. SURFACE TEMPERATURE CONTROL: MASTER APPLIANCE TAKES HEAT GUN TECHNOLOGY TO THE NEXT LEVEL Over the last 55+ years Master Appliance Corp (Racine, Wis.) has earned a reputation for developing the highest quality industrial strength heat guns on the market. A company well known for its heavy duty industrial big red "HG" heat gun, has noticed a new hot trend in heat gun applications. Technology gains in car wraps, alu- minum bodies and composites have led the need for specific controlled heat ranges when working with the material. The demand for specific controlled heat output is continually growing. The thriving vehicle wrap industry requires temperatures above 200°F-225°F for effective post heating. The new alu- minum bodies for Ford trucks call for specific temperature ranges for dent repair and composite structures of air- planes, helicopters, boats and other vehicles and are all demanding specific heat application ranges. "In the past, using a heat gun on sensitive surfaces was a bit of a guessing game. How much heat does the heat gun need to produce to make the work surface 200°F? How far does the nozzle need to be from the surface and how long do you point it there to make sure you don't over heat your material? Many of these materials cost thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. Users are really taking a risk heating sensitive surfaces without control. The cost of just one botched installation or repair could end up being quite expen- sive," said Robert Radwill, V.P. of Marketing at Master Appliance Corp. Enter the Master PH-1600 STC heat gun, the world's first heat gun with the ability to sense, dis- play and control actual work surface temperatures. The heat gun is fully integrated with an IR sensor and is designed to bring your work surface up to your programmed target tempera- ture and automatically regulate its out- put to keep it there. "The real value in this heat gun is its ability to regulate its output to meet your heating demands. You can program in your desired target surface temperature, turn on the heat gun and start working right away. It adjusts for the conditions you subject it to, knows when to kick up the heat and knows when to dial itself back. We cre- ated this heat gun to help get the job done right the first time, saving the user time and money. This technology sub- stantially minimizes the risk of botching the installation or repair. There's noth- ing out there on the market like it," Radwill said. Master Appliance has also created a second surface temperature control heat gun model, the PH-1610 STC which has the added capability to turn off the sur- face temperature control technology and operate as a traditional heat gun. As vehicle markets continue to innovate their body structures, materials and repair methods, look for Master's sur- face temperature control technology to become a favorite among professionals worldwide. PROLIFT SUSPENSION ROCKS TOYOTA Prolift Suspension understands how all of the suspension components interact with each other and have implemented an integrated design approach that takes the performance of its vehicle suspension systems to the next level. You can see it in its components. The intelligence is evident in both the com- plexity and simplicity of its parts, engineered to the nth degree for ulti- mate performance, yet simple to install, in a minimum amount of time. At the core of this integrated design philosophy is its complete line-up of suspension and leveling kits for Toyota – Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner and FJ Cruiser. "When you read about or see a lift kit online, it is very hard to see the quality of the lift and how it will fit onto your rig. It is also impossible to see the hours of thought and engineering experience that goes into each prod- uct. I am here to tell you that the crew at Prolift Suspension is not just slapping together parts to get your rig higher off the ground so you can look cool going to the mall. Prolift Suspension's goal is to improve the functionally of your rig, without reducing the relia- bility and performance." – Joel Moranton, Senior Editor and Photographer – 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine.
