A f te rm a rke t D a i l y N e ws 1 5 W e d n e s d a y, N o ve m b e r 5 , 2 0 1 4 LIVE AT SEMA: STAGE 8 NEW PRODUCT PREVIEW Stage 8, a leader in locking fastener sys- tems for the military, aerospace and auto- motive industries now brings bicycle enthusiasts their new and most innova- tive locking fastener, the Crank Lok™. Professional bikers know how easily cranks can come loose or even fall off. Many bike shops will tell you that there is no permanent solution. Well, that prob- lem is now a thing of the past. Using the same patented technology that Stage 8 has been awarded, for almost 30 years, the Crank Lok system secures your bike's crank forever. In three easy steps, you will never again fear your bicycles crank coming loose or falling off. The complete Crank Lok system includes the installation tool, a drill bit and two Crank Loks. Additional Crank Loks are also available and bike shop owners will now be able to outfit dozens of bikes using the installa- tion tool. Stage 8 has over 17 million locking systems installed without a single failure reported or a single degree of fastener loosening rotation. Founded in 1985 by Bruce Bennett, Stage 8 manufactures many types of active, fail-safe mechani- cal locking fasteners including counter- bore locking technology. Like a lot of established aftermarket companies, Stage 8 was founded in a garage. Bennett regularly worked on his own Harley so things like replacing a new exhaust pipe were a cinch – until the pipe fell off on the first day out of the box. Surveying the bolt, he realized there was nothing to prevent it from working loose again – and again. As much as he loved his bike, he wasn't interested in replacing the same bolt every month for the rest of his life. With the com- panionship of his dog, Eightball, Bennett started with a simple concept: a bolt that wouldn't work its way loose, even under extreme temperature and vibra- tion. How hard could that be? Working two days straight on the new idea, with seven initial designs that didn't work and an eighth that did, the solution turned out to be simple: lay a locking wrench on to the grooved head of a bolt. It locks down and doesn't start to work loose when the machine vibrates or when metal expands, then contracts and shrinks with cooling. As Bennett finished testing his cre- ation, he noticed that his beloved Eightball, lying on her bench in the workshop, had left this world. In her honor, he named his new company Stage 8 Locking Fasteners. To come full circle, in order to raise funds for the patent and the first product tooling, he sold the Harley. Since then he's had plenty of experi- ence, not only supplying his locking header bolts to frustrated backyard mechanics, but in making them work for big indus- trial purposes. Everyone has something they want to stay put, and Stage 8 discovers more uses every day. The company has supplied its locking bolts for locomotives, automobiles and earthmovers; from racecars to eyeglass- es, bolts are working themselves loose even as you read this! You may even think of a few yourself, so talk to Stage 8 if you need a prototype. Whether off-road, performance auto- motive, trucks of any size, outdoor sports, military, railroad or industrial, Stage 8 has a solution. It proudly servic- es GE Locomotive, Link-Belt Cranes, Caterpillar, NASA, Oshkosh, Ford Racing, BAE Systems, Stolle Machinery and more. The Bolt Stops Here! DUSTLESS BLASTING CREATES A MOBILE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY If you'll be attending the SEMA show this year, the Dustless Blasting booth may catch your eye. Whether it's the celebrity appearance of Dennis Gage or the NASCAR sitting in the booth, if you're an auto restoration professional or hobbyist, you owe it to yourself to check out Dustless Blasting's booth. In just a few short years, Dustless Blasting has gained major notoriety in the auto restoration industry. It has been featured on multiple auto-related TV shows, touted in auto magazines and newsletters, featured on websites and has more than two million views on YouTube. No longer do people want their cars soda or sand blasted; now everyone wants their car dustless blasted. This has created a wonderful business opportunity for anyone who owns Dustless Blasting equipment. Clever entrepreneurs are fir- ing their bosses, quitting their jobs and starting their own mobile paint stripping businesses. Dustless Blasting equipment is the fastest and cleanest way to strip any coat- ing from any material. The process is per- fect for automotive stripping because it eliminates friction and heat which pre- vents warping – a major problem with sand blasting. MMLJ Inc., the company behind Dustless Blasting, has made start- ing a business easy. Trailer-mounted Dustless Blasting units are available, complete with everything you need to start a mobile paint stripping business in one turn-key package. Although the Dustless process is perfect for automotive stripping, it isn't the only type of job that can be done. Everything from graffiti removal to industrial clean- ing can be accomplished with this diverse tool. "This is not a one trick pony," said Benny LeCompte, President of MMLJ Inc. "There are count- less income streams that this machine can capitalize on." Certainly there seems to be no shortage of work for the motivated Dustless Blaster owner. "Our Facebook feed is constantly flooded with every kind of job imaginable," said MMLJ's General Manager, Zach McAllister, "Many of our customers have had to come back and buy more machines to keep up with all the work they get." These jobs don't fetch chump change either. Dustless Blasting owners can easily charge what a traditional sand blasting contractor would charge or more, but they can get the work done in a fraction of the time. The startup cost is lower than almost any other business out there, the profit mar- gins are incredible and the return on investment is incredi- bly hard to beat. In an effort to help people get their mobile paint stripping business up and profitable even faster, MMLJ now offers a custom marketing package. The package includes all of the mar- keting materials an entrepreneur will need to promote their Dustless Blasting business. Dustless Blasting has already improved the surface preparation industry, and now it's changing people's lives and financial independence as well. DISPATCH SOFTWARE FOR WAREHOUSE DISTRIBUTORS Warehouse distributors are always look- ing for ways to save money, meet cus- tomer expectations and maximize profit. DQ Technologies has developed Order Delivery Tracking (ODT), a state of the art dispatch and tracking software solu- tion that will help distributors do just that. A DQ Technologies customer of two years, with a fleet of just 40 vehicles, reports an annual fuel savings of nearly $15,000, plus a reduction of over $50,000 in payroll through operational improvements enhanced by ODT. One of the main reasons auto shops order parts from you vs. the other guy is how accuratvely and quickly you get them the parts they need. In the current delivery marketplace, costs and expecta- tions continue to rise, and without the right technology partner your business may be losing its competitive edge. Whether your fleet consists of five or 5,000 vehicles, knowing precisely where each one is at any given time is vital to the success of your organization. DQT works with distributors across the country and understands the chal- lenges presented within the industry. From fast paced "Hot Shot" organiza- tions to route based delivery businesses, warehouse distributors deal with com- plex transactions on a daily basis. The ability to consistently deliver the right product and meet delivery time expecta- tions is ultimately how your customers will measure your business value. Without an efficient dispatch and track- ing system time and resources being spent to fill orders may fall flat of your organization's full potential. ODT equips your business with the tools necessary to streamline the order lifecycle from the point of sale and through the entire deliv- ery process to maximize organizational efficiency. ODT integrates directly into your current order entry system and allows dispatch, sales and management to effec- tively direct all delivery related operations includ- ing, buyouts, relays and warehouse transfers. Adding simple to understand dispatch tools along with advanced GPS tracking, ODT can provide accurate, up to the minute data about every order, including ETAs adjusted for traffic and customer stop times. Increased visibility enables management to easily identify the defi- cient processes within your organization and make the necessary operational changes. In addition ODT allows dis- patchers to make quick order combina- tion decisions, increasing the number of orders going out on each run, adding vol- ume without additional cost. DQT offers a wide variety of GPS tracking options including an application for mobile phones and tablet devices, giving your business complete hardware independence. Fixed mount devices are also available and can integrate with Garmin™ units to provide turn-by-turn directions and two way messag- ing between dispatch and driver. Additional features include proof of delivery electronic signature capture, optional picture capture, automatic manifest or route sheet creation, and complete elimina- tion of manual paper management. ODT customers see Return-On- Investment as a culture of accountability and is built around the delivery process and grows your delivery processes into a profit center. ROI is realized through operational process improvements, man- agement of personnel/resources, fuel sav- ings, delivery cost accounting and increased productivity. By providing precise information on the results of your delivery processes, ODT will help you develop new and improved strategies to ensure customer satisfaction while helping to maintain a low cost of service.
